Sarah Wrote:If everyone were judged before they got to speak then the world would be a better place.

I wouldn't go that far, but I certainly don't see the harm in them being judged before they post replies to a few bragging threads.

Even claiming they're being judged is fairly flawed. They're being glanced at to determine if they're legitimate users. The amount of actual caring involved couldn't possibly register too far above nil to be noticeable.

If they're doing something wrong it'll probably still go through and then be infracted or warned appropriately.
We're not auditing the content so much as the source.

Kalovale Wrote:they're just there in case you want to consider them.

Humans are remarkably adaptive creatures. If they haven't risen up to overthrow governments that violate their basic human rights on a daily basis I hardly think this is going to be something that will end civilization.

Eos Wrote:It's honestly no different from the fact we could delete anything you say at any time.

It's just a guarantee that a moderator will read it and happen to be first. Any other perceptual baggage is just personal insecurities and we can't fix those.

You still have the choice not to promote them, don't you?

You don't even have to give a pineapple about anyone's insecurities; they're just there in case you want to consider them. If you deem the new rule worthy and have good justifications for it, that's as good as any administrative attempt can get. I'm ignorant regarding the history of this kind of behavior, so I trust your judgment regarding its pros (obviously Locked disagreed here). All that I can do, therefore, is to try and put its cons on the scale.

Moderation Enforced - valhala556 - 2012-08-12

What I dont like the most is how this rule will remove some of the discussions/questions from people that ask about achievements. As well as how they obtained them and what not. But I cant really say much about the urgency of this issue as I'm not the moderator. Though honestly for anyone who really doesn't know much or little about the situation (like myself) it seems like there were many people who try to break the rules and brag but this new rule, or system for processing posts, is really just meant for that sushi kid.

I don't know about other subreddits but there is an "omg content control" thing going on in r/leagueoflegends.

Moderation Enforced - Rick - 2012-08-12

To be honest, as a moderator I would rather have dealt with ok'ing a couple of posts before they hit the thread than dealing with hundreds of reports from Locked about how *user* is *class* and censored their name so they are obviously *known hacker/duper*. It's shifting the work on moderators to prevention rather than damage control.

Moderation Enforced - Untradeable - 2012-08-12

I dont see this as a problem if the Mod's don't mind, Im assuming that Eos talked to them about this beforehand.

Moderation Enforced - Mike - 2012-08-12

Sweet. I guess.

That's nice Rick.

I don't visit /r/MapleStory. I'm talking about /r/BestOf, /r/AskReddit and a bunch of other subreddits that have been power tripping.

I don't see how this will do that. People are acting like there won't be enough moderating activity and posts won't be shown until hours and hours later.

As for the second sentence, quotes and mentions get peoples' attentions well enough so that those posts aren't missed.

If Chompy can cut back on the Glitters then what's his face can stop posting the same things he got banned for a dozen times already.

All this rule does is cut out the page of drama when someone posts hacking "achievements", because only the mods have to see them.

Moderation Enforced - Seanny - 2012-08-12

So long as this is only activated on threads that prove 'problematic' or prone to issues, then I don't see a reason to be troubled by it.

Better this than threads just being outright locked if people can't control their impulses, right?

I disagree on the point of 'judging people before they speak' on a universal level though. If such a thing was in place ages ago Women's Rights would never have gotten anywhere. Sometimes new order is made in what judges, being imperfect themselves, would consider chaos. However this is a private domain that wishes to maintain and unite a standard, and is not required by humanity to reside in.

Moderation Enforced - LadyJenJen - 2012-08-12

I agree that this is too extreme. The name of one or two individuals keep coming up. One to two people is just too few for this to be implemented when it effects old users. I will say that it's good to see that something is trying to be done about the situation. However, it's not like the mods are on a pay role. This will be a lot more work for them to do everyday on frequently looked at threads, especially as volunteer work. If they get fed up with doing it, there's nothing there to make them keep spending all their time approving posts. And that is where the issue of the time it takes for posts to be approved slows down, etc, which disappoints other users. I think the idea is ok if it really is as big of an issue as Eos says it is, but I don't believe the moderation team has the man power to do it for a long period of time.

Moderation Enforced - Dystopiq - 2012-08-12

It's a good thing I avoid those Sub forums. Trouble finds those who look for it.

Moderation Enforced - Imitazion - 2012-08-12

I don't mind this at all.

Moderation Enforced - CarrionCrow - 2012-08-12

I do think it is important that rulebreakers are stopped and personally I wonder if it would not be better to just close down those sections. The flaunting itself is just retarded e-penor behaviour for the most part, it is the discussion that sometimes have merit.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT!

This is exactly why I think people are so upset about this. Honestly, I like the idea of this. It's probably why I stopped visiting those threads in the first place.

Either way, mods are going to see our posts and review them. What's the harm in sending it to them directly? (Unless you're gonna get butthurt if your post doesn't get approved...)

Sarah Wrote:If everyone were judged before they got to speak then the world would be a better place.
Because Southperry isn't fucking highschool drama enough with everyone judging each other because a "famous" member said they were stupid.

OT:As said before this is extreme to the max. If you're so bent on stopping "bragging rights" do as @CarrionCrow said just shut the damn thing down. The whole boss run let me rub my achievements you can't do in your face mentality is stupid as is.
