Picking on your's because you said it the most recently.
I don't get where people are pulling this "defined roles" in MapleStory. Seriously. There was hardly any to begin with.

Moonlapse; I feel you man. Most of the time I just deal with going solo and getting shitty EXP. :/

This, and I miss when +7 60%s was a good weapon, not +10 10%s and 12 enhancements.

I just remembered something else I miss, and this is gonna be really weird, the old sauna DC glitch. I remember getting caught in it once and how it was an experience in and of itself just getting out and when I finally did my friend and I shared a loud "YEAH!" and high five.

What do YOU miss? - Tristan - 2012-08-08

I miss the times when my friend Tyler and I would go to the blockbuster 4 blocks down and buy NX, and then to the Bel-Air across the street and buy energy drinks.

We would stay up and even with the energy drinks we crashed around 2 AM haha - We were in 5th and 7th grade respectively.

We bought 2x Coupons and tried so hard to get to 30, we took turns training his Aran and we got to 30 by the end of the night. Training at Scorpions near Magatia... when they were level 23 enemies hahahaha Big Grin

1.) The community when it was younger. Now it seems to be the equivalent to a bag of plantains. My server (Mardia) got put in a server merge though.
2.) The usefulness of guilds seem to have vanished. Guilds had great potential, GuildPQ was great way back in the days. Now its evaporated.
3.) Boss difficulty has decreased, or so for the older bosses. Sad ;-;
4.) My class has become heavily band-wagoned.
5.) When classes had greater differences between them.
6.) My guild. Out of anything, my guild. However, quitting MS at the time was a necessity. I come back to a guild of me and two to three others. Gotta kick it old school.

Foxino Wrote:Yeah CPQ was so fun, I started my shadower during the time people actually played, by that I mean not exploit free/trade wins. And of course as LoveVictim stated.. I miss when that program wasn't around.

Other things that I miss include;-

Sheep vs wolf PQ - Perhaps my favourite event PQ, to me a symbol of how fun maple was during that era.
Bigfoot - This is one of my most selfish wants. I pretty much funded my shadower from selling leech, before potential system kicked in my best friend and myself was perhaps one of the only bigfoot leech selling shadowers in bera(yes bera... this might actually give away my old identity)

Visitor Event - Was a great party quest and well thought out event (which is rare from nexonNA) again like bigfoot amazing profit.

Pre-Potential + Duping - I have never adjusted completely to this system. I don't exactly hate it, as a nx hoar in rehab I know how easy it makes it to be "godly" but the ceiling is way too high now. As for duping, it introduced items that shouldn't be possible to make then on top of that made them easy to obtain, making legitimate items decrease in value massively. Duping+potentials hurt GMS the hardest.

This... and my favorite PQ that I ALWAYS enjoyed and I have no idea why nexon removed it Sad... ¡ARIANT PQ!

What do YOU miss? - Tristan - 2012-08-08

Haha I remember when Ariant PQ came out... I remember I laughed at all the newbies who though 20-30 was still hard... trololo try KPQ!

I miss when people freaked out if someone dropped a scroll - no matter what it was.

What do YOU miss? - Kevo - 2012-08-08

Completely agree with FrozNlite. The two turning points that really changed the game in a negative way were defs Potentials and Big Bang. (Potentials came before.)

Having NX Cash really set you apart from those without it and Big Bang was when the game became far too easy. I don't know what else Nexon has done to their game since Big Bang but I can only guess that the game has been made even easier than ever before.

I miss my guilds, especially Elysium (not that people know of it), the drama/ks-wars, ventrilo, and collaborating with friends and allies to defeat bosses pre-Big Bang such as Chaos Horntail and Pink Bean. I also miss my Level 120+, pre-4th "grinding" at Gobies.

FoG was terrible, I stayed away from that place. Always full and pot burn!

>Pineapple' Wrote:I never understand this. I liked maple much more back then as much as the next guy, but less gameplay variety was definitely not a reason why.

Because for the most part it's not Gameplay variety. It's just exactly the same thing as the last class but more powerful. There are rare exceptions like Demon Slayer, Mercedes, and Hayato that have interesting playstyles, but the majority of classes are exactly the same thing with higher damage, range, and flashier skills. Back when they weren't working on classes, they were working on areas, and those are far more useful and interesting.

Honestly as a reverse to other people, I don't understand all the hate for Big Bang as a patch itself. I understand the hate for potential, but it was slightly before Big Bang's overhaul patch. Overall, Big Bang itself was a positive change. The game became far less grindy, areas that had been phased out of usefulness became useful again (What was the point of 10+ areas that were all in the same level range?). A much needed (at the time) class balance had occurred. Victoria is a more efficient area. While I know many people hate the change to it, most of those areas were completely worthless garbage. How many people trained on those giant maps? You only ever saw people travelling through. Only specific maps were ever used and as a result most of those areas were a complete waste of space, and travel time. While I agree that the turn the game took after the BB patch sucks ass, it doesn't change that BB itself was a welcome change in my opinion.

^ Changes made to Vic was needed, but I really hope they kept HHG.

I loved that place.

I miss getting a team of 40's and doing the old school Ludibrium PQ. So many Alishar wipes...*tear*. I would gladly join a P2P server with no potentials or gameplay changing items in the CS. Just cometics. Fair exp and quest rewards and real boss fights. This will never happen of course.

What do YOU miss? - >Pineapple - 2012-08-08

I didn't really like the change to vic. I mean, I'm sure they could have somehow adjusted the spawns/ exp from the monsters that were already there to make it on par with what we have now, or near it.

I also dislike the new Victoria.

I remember the original Victoria maps, it was a big island with biiiig maps, and gave you an inredible sense of exploration, complete with Hidden Streets and stuff like that, everything was connected to Sleepywood in a cool way, like the mega jump from Ellinia, the sewers from Kerning, a back door from Perion, oh god, remember the Henesys path to Sleepywood? With obstacles like spikes on platforms and the Golem pit? If you fell into the Golem pit underleveled, bam, that was your end. Such detail and attention to all maps. Just had a nostalgia attack.

All Big Bang did was make training maps... EVERYWHERE. Which made the maps quite plain and boring. Probably I wouldn't have minded so much if they actually renewed the art style, but they didn't renew the art style from Victoria, just crammed everything up.

I miss doing KPQ for an entire day to get to level 30. It was loads of fun, since everyone was trying to get in and it created a lot of competition.

I miss CPQ.. as aggravating as it was, I met so many people from Levels 30-50, who afterwards helped me continue after Level 50..

I miss the original training, where you PQ.

i agree with everything u said
especially the part with having to go to sleepywood from your respective town and sleepywood being so huge and expansive, not the small crammed tiny maps it is today
