Abuse is abuse.
You still have to actively choose to do it, it's not Nexon's fault you saw an advantage that you shouldn't have had and tried to take it any more than it's the banks fault if you happen across a bag of 10m dollars lying in the street that a thief lost and you decide to keep it.

Glitch is Nexon's fault and why wouldn't people abuse it knowing the horrible Nexon company won't do anything about it? Also, people been abusing glitched LHC's for a LONG time now.
The cashier left their till open. Let me just grab as many bills as I can & run with it!

Cheating is still cheating - whether its triggered by the negligence of the owner or achieved through the use of "hacks" (aka workarounds) does not make any difference. The people who abuse this glitch do it because it's easy. I think it'd be fair to say a majority of these people either already hack, or would hack if they could figure out how / it required less effort.

Glitches are simply a means of enabling those that aren't as tech-savvy to cheat.

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 03.28.2012 - xManuz - 2012-03-28

Yea I admit that's abusing, I never said I didn't abuse. Yes, it's cheating, but again... They need to be more smart when it comes to coding. Ever since 2008-2009 (Don't exactly remember) <-- Btw that's when i started playing, if there was previous glitches before that date, I didn't know about them.

It's like someone left their iPod on the bathroom and left. Then someone comes in and sees it. No one claims it. Why wouldn't he take it?

I'd say, if they did Tespia's more often, glitches wouldn't happen as often.

I can think of a multitude of reasons.

1) It's illegal.
2) It's illegal.
3) It's illegal.

4,5,6,7,8,9,10) Morals?

Though you don't seem to be fazed by 4~10.

We all agree that Nexon is incompetent. But that doesn't make abusing glitches/hacking any more favorable (at least in my eyes).

I wouldn't see this as a situation in which such physics would apply.
A single ban would mean that banning happened.

Eos Wrote:btw; In their defense, saying "we" to refer to Nexon as a whole, rather than individual division, isn't impossible.
A stance I would have taken had she not referred to an individual division as "Super Koreans".
Seems hardly fitting to bestow such a title onto someone for cleaning up a mess they made.

To be honest, I though they would ATLEAST RB like 12-24 hours, but we know Nexon is just getting worse and worse as the time passes.
True, hacking isn't the same as glitching, but they're both equally active abuses.
The duration for which an abuse has occurred doesn't change the morality of the abuse.

Of course, LHC is a terrible example since the "glitched" maps were, in fact, the result of a hack.

I wouldn't say that Nexon is getting worse at all though. They've been fairly consistently bad at dealing with such matters.

Viaje Wrote:At what point do you believe Nexon America pineappleed up?

Calm your tits, sillypants. I understand that NexonKR writes the code, but NexonAM HAS to do something to pineapple it up. The whole company doesn't have these issues, if they did they would be perma-patched in KMS and we would never see it in GMS.

Because it's not theirs.

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 03.28.2012 - ShinkuDragon - 2012-03-28

i'd rather have the current ability to post about abusing glitches, as long as one doesn't explain or give instructions on how to duplicate it (or they can't, i don't really care) i'd rather be informed than not.

some of the answers to "why shouldn't i do it" though...

*facepalm.

Leaves Wrote:America >> Korea. Long discussions about why, how, when, etc. (mostly BS)
Korea makes changes. Korea tests. Korea makes new patch files / changes to server-side scripts where appropriate.
Korea >> America
America tests. Implements.
Regular server tests after every server check.
Servers online.

More stuff than you might think. Most of it comes down to operating procedures, so no matter how small the bug may be, there is a certain minimum amount of time it'll take (few hours).

I get that Nexon Korea does most of the work, but if Nexon NA can't even do a simple bug fix, then they shouldn't even exist. They extent of Nexon NA should be a warehouse with servers in it. It's clear they don't moderate their games, so why are they paying GMs to do nothing? Customer Support doesn't do anything either. The entire office of Nexon NA is absolutely useless.

I know that I shouldn't be surprised by this, but somehow I am.

I'll never understand where that knee-jerk reaction comes from.
>Someone tells you you said something utterly retarded.
>>Tell them to calm down, that will show them!

The only way Nexon America could have pineappleed this up is if they altered the code.
You just said that Nexon Korea writes the code, not Nexon America.
Therefore, Nexon America couldn't have pineappleed it up.

KMS doesn't have these Easter Events, so they never would have faced this issue in order to "perma-patch" it.

Pull your head out for a second and face facts: Nexon Korea is to blame for any glitches within GMS's code.

Hyperbole much?

Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 03.28.2012 - JoeTang - 2012-03-28

This all comes down to Nexon Korea and their anti-Christian sentiments in not allowing their players to celebrate Easter.

But that's essentially what they are (as far as MapleStory is concerned). The only exception is a number of marketing personnel as well as executives and a limited amount of Network admins. And Hime, but she doesn't really count as far as I'm concerned.

GMs/CS staff are quite limited as it is. There's not much difference between them being LA-based and Korea-based (like at the beginning of GMS).

xManuz Wrote:I'd say, if they did Tespia's more often, glitches wouldn't happen as often.

Wouldn't change anything.

Tespia is never set up properly to test events.
Nexon don't fix the glitches/bugs
People don't test, Only use tespia as a reason to get lv200 on w/e class they want.

Besides idiotic glitches like today could have been found simply by running a few tests.

As for the abusers, They do it because they get away with it 9 times out of 10.

Really? Is this attitude really the future of humankind? I hope I die young.

On a less morbid note, just got home and game is up, I guess they fixed the bug and applied the GMS fix (see: do absolutely nothing), right?

Speaking of glitched events, It seems that the Admin's Fool quest is also borked. It says that the reward is a choice between the 100% chaos for the branch nose, or the branch nose itself. Truth is, you only get the chaos for it.

It took me multiple tries of the first option to get the Tree Branch, doesn't seem to be 100%.
Not worth it though, it expires in a day IIRC

EDIT: 3 days actually, still not worth it.

Not worth it at all :|

Hardly any event quests are worth it that’s the problem with them. Also they just aren’t fun to do at all.

I mean comon, you can't tell me people WILL NOT take it. I know some won't, personally I wouldn't. But some would. My point is, they gotta be more carefull with the events they are doing man.
