I should've applied to some of the bigger name programs, it looks like I actually stood a chance of getting in. Congrats Ray!
Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Kurtle - 2011-02-19 What can I say. Ann Arbor is an amazing town. The atmosphere is nothing like I have felt before, so easy-going, yet energetic and lively all at once. UofM's campus is massive, It's literally about the size of my current town. The buildings are absolutely stunning and it's a center for technological development, so each building has open labs of about 300 iMacs just hanging around. Let's just say I had the miracle moment. Really thinking about going blue, huh? Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Grey - 2011-02-19 Wow, as a lurker who's almost never logged in, I never noticed this part of the forum. I've been accepted to one place so far, Ohio State (College of Engineering, Honors) I got in as a junior for Seniors to Sophmores (free year of college, which I declined *is an idiot*) so I wasn't really surprised and I still go there part time, paid for by the school district (unless I fail the class) I also got a conditional acceptance to The University of Manchester (if I get five 5s on AP tests), this was pleasantly surprising. Probably won't go there, there's almost no chance of me getting more 5s, plus I don't have enough arms and legs to give them (no aid for foreigners; yet surprisingly cheaper than some US universities) Flat out rejected by Cambridge, which I expected, being from the US, poor, and not a very high achieving student. The rest of my choices are just dreams, such a waste of app fees, I'll probably end up going to Ohio State like everyone else around here.
As for APs and such
I, sometimes, hate the weather here in Ohio. I should've applied for colleges in warmer areas, that should've been my number 1 criterion. Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Salguod - 2011-02-19 ^I was accepted by Ohio State, too. Thinking of going there; what are your thoughts on it? Also, I'm curious about why you were applying to schools in England. I have an interview with Rochester on Monday. Hope it isn't as bad as my friend's interview experience with another school. I doubt I'll be going there though. Grats to everyone else on their acceptances. Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - WillDaSnail - 2011-02-20 Grats iAmFear! Now I'm curious why you applied to England's most prestigious schools. :f6: Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Grey - 2011-02-20 OSU is okay, I like it, I guess. It's 20 minutes away from me so I don't have to pay like, double the price for a dorm. As for England, well, I guess I'm just bored with the US. And English people have sexy accents. Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Kurtle - 2011-02-20 Am I the only one that is super anxious and antsy for college? I am constantly thinking about it, and I just want it to be August. I am constantly thinking about it, and I just want it to be August. I had the same feeling during my senior year of high school - I was done with high school and wanted to be in college. Just enjoy the break - you'll miss it once school starts. :p Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - WillDaSnail - 2011-02-23 On a funny note.... Now that I'm waiting for my college admissions decisions, now it's my sister's turn to get spammed with snail mail from colleges. It pours in almost every day (at least 5 out of 6 delivery days). She now has one Ziplock bag full of it as of today. I wonder if that's going to balloon to a small cardboard box-full of college mail by the end of this year. Oh boy.

All of those colleges that mailed me throughout Sophomore and Junior year didn't even send useful info. You shouldn't even look at colleges until you get your ACT/SAT scores. Though when summer time comes, I'll be sure to push my sister on researching some colleges. ![]() Edit: Scratch that. On top of UC Merced and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I just got accepted to Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University!
Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Grey - 2011-02-24 Grats! ^O^ I just found out I got accepted to McGill U. Yay~ I wonder if living with my aunt in Boisbriand would lower the tuition cost... Especially if that school will let you forego those "mandatory" 2 years of dorming. ![]() Anyways, I'ma add one more to my list: California State University-Long Beach.
Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Grey - 2011-03-02 Grats again. I'm pretty sure they don't have mandatory on campus living, as far as I know anyway. I've been studying up on Canadian citizenship rules. Turns out I'm a Canadian citizen because my dad was one when I was born, yay for not having to pay international tuition, and I think I can go from Canadian tuition to the much cheaper Quebec tuition by living in Quebec for 3 months by the end of the semester, through section 8. It takes 10~14 months to get proof of citizenship though ;_; (I think there's also an option for sooner if it's urgent), I totally didn't expect to get into McGill, else I probably would've taken care of this sooner. Even if I don't go, I think being a citizen of more than one country is pretty cool. Also, just found out I got into Macalester, yay! Class of 2011 College Acceptances Thread - Mike - 2011-03-02 It's everyone's favorite month! Be sure to tell us the good news, guys.
