Who knows, they might do the same event this year with some tweaking so they had a reason to come back or they'll just come since the new ones never actually came here before, all the NPCs forgot about the whole thing and maybe they'll exclude the ones with the Time Traveler medal as Dr. Bing would consider us mad since an "alien" invasion never happened before.
Also dante, they might have learn their lesson since after that they didn't add the turkies as they usually do.

The situation is the same for the rest of the weapons. Anyways, the point here is that it's hard to ignore the fact that VIP weapons have 10 Wattk advantage over reverse weapons and are staless. Even without the 4th potential tier, people won't simply accept that Nexon hasn't fixed VPQ yet

I understand that part, but it's still a matter of your time versus money spent. You can wait forever until the PQ is fixed (because they did not give an approximate time scale) and get a cheaper, better weapon eventually.

You could spend billions of mesos potentialing and scrolling the available VIP gear that you can find NOW.
If you don't mind waiting, that's perfectly fine and it's your choice. You could also just spend the same amount you would on a few VIP weapons and do the same for a reverse/maker'd gun. In a way it is a risk: guessing and playing the market to know when Nexon decides to fix the PQ. But from the tone in their message, it sounds as if they're putting that one on the back burner.

You're not factoring in natural randomness, maker bonuses and level ups. Who the hell would make a reverse weapon without any gems with it? They have the potential to be not that far from each other. Secondary stat has become mandatory for certain classes like pirates anyway to make the most out of your potential (71+ items) unless you go for the statless top/bottom combination.

You are completley ignoring several factors here.
First, its extremely rare to obtain enough Watt from level ups and gems. At absolute best, you will get 12, but chances are you will only see maybe up to 8 Watt, probably less though. All this work for a weapon you could never sell.
Second, VIPs are statless, meaning you can focus on not increasing your secondary stat. In my case, I already have a Pirate with about 90 total dex, and is dexless. This saves me the trouble of raising my dex for a reverse. Then the VIPs are interesting because they come with a base increase to your secondary stat. This will make it far easier to equip your other equipment rather than having your other equipment be used to equip your VIP. This could easily allow you to invest more into main stat and forget about your secondary stat. Besides, why invest in an inferior weapon that I cant resell when I can invest in a better weapon that I can resell?
Then obviously we have the 4th tier potential on a resellable weapon.
The final point is that we all know that as time goes on more powerful equipment will be released and will will want to upgrade to keep up with the other players and match or surpass the new standards. With the VIPs, this is easy because you can resell the weapon. With the Reverse weapons, they are stuck on you permanently. You'll never be able to sell them, and all money invested into a reverse will be completely wasted once you obtain a new and better weapon.
As my recommendation, I'd just use a well scrolled level 100 or level 110 weapon untill I could afford a VIP, VPQ is reopened, or nexon releases new broken pomegranate. At least level 100 and 110 equipment is only a little weaker at worse, costs far less to make, and the total cost to decently scroll one is far less than scrolling a reverse. Got to love cost efficiency and the ability to sell your weapon so that another player that wants it can use it once you are done with your weapon.

Freaking bastards. They just convenience'd their way out of matters of concerns.
They "seemingly actively" removed both Monster Book and 7th day Market, with one being presumably unwanted and another utterly, publicly, and even vocally abhorred. While a whole deeply integrated system has been done for since Napoleon's puberty without an explanation (till now), the other, a single tiny unnoticeable (lol really) event whose activation can be condemned to the lowest layers of hell just by changing one line of code remains to be fixed.
