Forgive me, but there have already been several false reports stating she was dead. Rep. She's still alive, and the support that's outside the University Medical Center is insane x_x I can't walk to class without having to go through a crowd of news cameras and praying people. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona, Shot By Gunman - Moonlapse - 2011-01-13 Anyone hear the speech Obama gave yesterday? I heard it was one of his best speeches. Rep. I heard that is was all for political gain, but anything politians like him do is for his or her own personal gain. I'll probably watch it later when I have the time and patience to listen to that bastard. But I feel that I should mention one thing. Rahm Emanuel, Obama's Chief of Staff, once said "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste." Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona, Shot By Gunman - Sarah - 2011-01-13 By the way, she opened her eyes and reached up for her family today. Rep. Seriously I'm not even an Obama supporter but TBH acting as if he's some sinister individual for doing something that's damn near common to every politicians repertoire is just overplay. Rep. Why don't you make a Speakeasy thread dissecting the speech after you've watched it so we can all see Obama's "sinister statements for political gain." Until then please just shut up. I'll throw another quote at you, too, which is popular in Madison, WI and applies to you since you posted FOX news videos earlier: "If you're hearing crazy voices, turn off FOX News." Rep. Most of my judgements about Obama are from his past actions. You know, things like the campaign promises he doesnt seem to remember. I'm saving my judgements about his speech for after I listen to it. In terms of Fox, I only posted it because he mentioned that Loughner was shot at by someone in the crowd, and if you read my post, you'd see that I disagreed with Fox. The reporter (if you could call him that) attempted to demonize the idea of a citizen defending himself and/or the people around him. Rep. Also, I saw the one where it mentions Obama overturning the regulations preventing the media from covering dead soldiers. Too bad almost all reports on the wars have stopped. Then regarding Guantanimo, its still open. And I love the one about the healthcare bill. Insurance companies can deny you for pre-existing conditions, at a $2000 fine. However, $2000 is nothing to the insurance companies compared to what they save by not treating you. And of course, these are all positive things he has done, and of course record spending and driving the nation further into debt arent here. Then of course failure to get out of NAFTA, CAFTA arent here because he never kept that promise. So basically instead of answering my question, you post a link to a site that is difficult to navigate on and one that doesnt answer my question at all while giving me information that is definitly misleading. Edit: Back on the subject of the shooting, what kind of memorial service gives out T-shirts? This reminds me of the Simpons episode where Mrs. Flanders died and they where giving out free T-shirts at her funeral. It just seems like a low blow for political gain. Its sad the wishes of the parents of that little girl that died will go ignored. Anyway, I started listening to Barry's speech, and I'll finish later. The obvious propaganda is sickening. Rep. I agree with your second paragraph and its refreshing to se a non liberal point of view here in Southperry, but dont you think its a bit overboard to say this was completley calculated? From what I heard he even rebuked the people claiming that Sarah Palin caused this tragedy. Also what evidence do you have that that He's giving the IRS the power to drain people's bank accounts? Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona, Shot By Gunman - Takebacker - 2011-01-14 ITT: Having sympathy and compassion in response to a national tragedy is flipped for political bashing fodder. Rep. From what I heard he even rebuked the people claiming that Sarah Palin caused this tragedy. If you are saying I'm going overboard, then I suppose George Orwell was right when he said "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." Apparently Obama is just stepping in and telling everyone to shut up and come together under his rule. But no, this isnt the right course of action. We should be angry and we should be pointing fingers. The problem is that the media has been pointing it's fingers at the wrong people. They should have, and we should be pointing our fingers at those responsible. We should be pointing our fingers at Loughner, and not the media that loughner didnt even listen to. We should be pointing out the fact that nothing was done about the fact that he was on hallucinogens and reportedly was losing his sanity. We should be outraged that this man had several signs of going on a rampage like sending death threats and yet the local police did nothing untill after the shooting. But instead of pointing there fingers in the right places, the media decides to peach and moan about eachother, and Obama has to come down and tell us to sit down, shut up and come together - he doesnt even adress the real issue here. Read HR 3200, Page 52. That will give your your answer. @Takebacker: Obama has no sympathy or compassion for Arizona. He wont even send a few troops to defend Arizona against the Mexican Drug Cartels that have invaded thousands of acres of Arizonan land. Rep. Someone else who may very well not care. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona, Shot By Gunman - Anonymous Moose - 2011-01-16 Takebacker Wrote:Because that probably isn't his job but someone elses. The Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution requires that the Federal Government protect the States from foreign invaders, and the President is the Commander and Cheif of our armed forces. In short, it is his job to lead the military to fight the Mexican Drug Cartels that littlerally are controlling parts of the the State of Arizona. Besides, why would it not be the responsibility of our Armies (lead by the president) to defend us against heavily armed foreign armies? American lives are being lost to Drug Cartels that are invading America because the federal government is being neglegent in their duties to protect the citizens of this country. While being negligent, federal government is busy sending Americans to their deaths over foreign wars that we dont belong in with proven false pretexts. Its a travesty. Rep. Federal Government = All 3 Branches What this means is that ALL 3 branches must agree that they should move armed forces into Arizona to "stop" Mexican Drug Cartels. And seeing Congress how it is now, I say it's probably not feasible to do that, now. Like Takebacker said, it's not Obama's job (although, since he is a branch, it's partly his job). Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona, Shot By Gunman - Anonymous Moose - 2011-01-16 Netto Wrote:Federal Government =/= President. People seriously want to make excuses for why Obama and the Federal Government are letting this country be invaded and neglect the people that are dying from the Drug Cartels. I am just shocked that people want to defend a man who doesnt event care about the oath he took to protect us. All three branches do not need to come together to agree. That's not how government works. Each branch simply does it's job, and the other two branches simply have checks and balances to influence or stop the actions of another branch. For the text of the constitution: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence." Basically it is the legislative (congress) and executive (currently obama) branches' responsibility to protect the states from foreign invaders. Since neither are taking steps to protect this nation, both are neglecting their duties. Edit: Also, you contradict yourself. It cant be "not his responsibility" and "partly his responsibility." That is a paradox, they dont exist in reality. It'll have to be either not his responsibility or his responsibility. Since the highest law in the nation says he has the responsibility, that means he has the responsibility to protect the nation. Edit2: And there are not if's or but's about this. The law says "The United States [...] shall protect each of them against invasion." That means the Federal Government simply is suppose to protect the states. Failure to do so is neglecting their duties. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona, Shot By Gunman - FrozNlite - 2011-01-16 Can you please post a few news articles that detail the total loss of civilian American life, to this day, due to the invasion of Mexican drug cartels in Arizona? Along with that, can you also post articles describing the actual invasion of Arizona by these cartels? If this is as such a big a deal as you say it is, I'd like to know more, but I'm having trouble finding sources. |
