A Quiet Little Town - Game Over, town wins - Dual - 2010-10-11

Ending the day, gimme a sec to post up the flavor. :3
_____________
The whole group erupts with accusations and discussion. Harsh words are thrown about, but in the end, it's decided that the best course of action is to wait it out and see what happens next. There's just too little information for you to throw someone's life away senselessly.

The mayor steps up to the podium again. "Well, I guess I can't argue. As afraid as I am that we might be in danger, there's only been one death, so we can't be sure if anyone else will die. This meeting is adjourned for the day. But if something else happens tonight, I suggest we all meet here again tomorrow and see how we feel. Go home everyone."

He steps down from the podium, slightly relieved, since he too does not want an innocent's blood on his hands. Everyone heads outside, and makes their way back home. The events of today have only worsened that odd feeling deep in the pits of your stomachs.
_____________

And that's the end of Day 1. Nobody is lynched. It is now Night 1. The Night will end at 9 PM EST TOMORROW or when all night actions are in.

I don't think I'm supposed to post at night but just wanna post so I don't look like a silent Synth, I went out for the weekend and just got home, I had told Dual to give me a roal and I would catch up to the game when I got here, I got home late to vote but that doesn't matter because it's a no lynch.

A Quiet Little Town - Game Over, town wins - Dual - 2010-10-12

The dawn is starting to rise. A man slowly stands back up, cracking his back a bit after finally getting onto his feet. He smiles lightly, and turns around to leave, knowing his work is done. Upon turning around, he sees a man with large muscles sprawled across the ground in front of him, a gunshot in his chest. He chuckles a little as he steps over the body. From his pocket, he pulls a single match. He strikes it against his coat, setting it alight, and then flicks it backwards.
____________
You all wake up as the sun rises from the horizon. But the sun isn't what wakes you. A thick black smoke wafts through the air, clogging the already murky sky. Everyone rushes out of their respective homes, and heads towards the source: Corn's house.

Upon getting there, you all see almost the entire building is gone, with most of it reduced to ash. In front of the building, a man is lying on the ground, his suit covered in blood and ash, showing he clearly did not die from the smoke or fire. Many people turn their heads, unable to look at the sight before them. The mayor steps out among the crowd, and looks out at the burning building. He pulls a piece of paper off of the mailbox, seemingly untouched by the fire. On it is this image:

"Someone call the fire department. The rest of you, to the meeting hall. And I mean every one of you. The people responsible for this have to pay." The mayor turns his head and begins to walk towards his car. Suddenly, the lights in the houses nearby go out, as well as the street lights. Everyone looks around questioningly. "Well, at least it's the day. Someone go call up the power company from the next town, see if they can get somebody over here who knows how to run that place."

You all show up at the meeting hall, except for Jon, who shows up nearly an hour late. "Sorry everyone," he says, "Somebody covered my whole house in toilet paper. I had to clean it all off before I could come here."

The mayor looks at him strangely. "All right. But for showing up late, I can't allow you to vote today. We can't be sure if your story is true, so I'm not taking any chances letting someone stroll up late and just send people to their deaths."

 Roles

You know the drill guys. Majority or at 9 PM EST.
And just a heads up to you Corn, so you don't think your role was so pomegranatety, if you were lynched during the day, the power would have gone out at night, and nobody would have been able to do anything, skipping the night.

I think there's some sort of clownie role, though I'm not sure. Night 0 I got a PM, for no reason, saying that I was shown a white fluffy rabbit. It didn't say from who or why, that's all it said. Now the business with Jon's house getting TP'd... just seems like there's some sort of prankster role out there, though I have no idea if it's actually why Jon can't vote today.

A Quiet Little Town - Game Over, town wins - Holypie - 2010-10-12

Hmmm? A bandaid? Perhaps from an injury? Maybe one that hurts?

Just speculating :< It could easily be something to protect from an infection.

I just got shown a fluffy white rabbit as well. Magician perhaps? XP Also I wonder if the house burning down means an arsonist/firestarter role?

If there is an arsonist role, and I'm guessing that there is one, it might be a hint about their identity.

That being said, I'm going to point to ThatHurts as the most fitting player. (I'll hold back on voting till we discuss a bit, though.)

A Quiet Little Town - Game Over, town wins - ThatHurts - 2010-10-12

Wut? Any reason for that? I can't defend myself against a random acusation. However, I'm gonna take a guess and say it was because I didn't post at all the first day. I didn't post because I saw no point in posting when we were either gonna RNG or no lynch regardless.

Also, given that there were two kills, I think we might have an SK/arsonist this round.

That is the most likely person given the bandaid, but that feels almost too obvious. I don't want to overcomplicate things after all, but it does seem a bit too easy of a conclusion to reach.

The other part I'm concerned with, is that if there is a arsonist/firestarter around, they're probably neutral or townie rather than part of the mafia, and thus, while dangerous, they are more likely looking for the mafian than targeting town members for the moment. Not advocating keeping a dangerous role around persay, but it is possible that it's a reformed firestarter rather than a straight up neutral killer, so I'm rather on the fence about it.

I'm not saying you're the arsonist; I'm just saying that the hint most likely points to you. It's a bandaid, and since it's burned, I'm guessing it's referring to the identity of the arsonist who killed Corn and not the mafia member who killed Yoshi. It is (as E6 pointed out) almost too obvious of a clue, though.

And ElectricSix, while the arsonist should probably target mafia members, at this point they're probably killing randomly.

Not voting yet because it's just Day 1.

KajitiSouls Wrote:I have no idea what Kurtle is doing, but Claw is perfectly in the right to use the metagame for his reasoning. Hell, Mafia is all about the metagame. And some logic.

But yeah, nobody has died yet, and I dislike the RNG method. Still won't vote yet. Unless Synthesist speaks up, then I'll change to [vote] No Lynch.

Well they picked Corn, who didn't exactly do his best job of convincing people he wasn't mafia after roleclaiming. So perhaps they were hoping he was lying and getting rid of him would yield one less mafian around. Which as a neutral is probably pretty high on the priority list of things to do. Killing townies isn't a bad idea, it's just not as good as getting rid of mafians early on.

Also, is there some sort of reasoning behind your vote Mute?

A Quiet Little Town - Game Over, town wins - ThatHurts - 2010-10-12

I think Mute was trying to imply that Kajiti was trying too hard to pretend to be town.

It seems more to me that Kajiti cannot vote until restrictions are lifted. No idea what those might be, though, and doubt he can share if that's the case.

Also, we have some blessings to count -
we still have, presumably:
A detective
A doctor
The mayor

Probably the most important roles.
Also, Jon is confirmed to NOT be the mayor, if such is a role (the mayor specifically talked to him).
