I'm still motivated to grind every time a good opportunity arises. I do quests all the time.
However, the amount of time I've been playing has lowered considerably over the years and that's because I always keep finding new things to do elsewhere and the workload at school has been getting bigger and bigger.

I still play, and I love the global version. I love how we have NLC, apples, and 2xp cards in the cash shop. I hate wasting time to level, and I really like how easy we're getting it lately with the 2xp cards, I can say I've enjoyed this game more than I usually do with all the XP events and stuff, and it was actually worth my time to play it for more than 3 hours.
I do hate the exp system though, I went on my AM even though I quit it just to log into it, this guy was training and had 90% and I offered to party him to help him. Then we partied, and with me in the party he said it took him even LONGER than it should have to level up because of the new EXP formula, I myself didn't get crap for exp either, it was just pathetic. I really hate this new formula, there's no purpose in team play anymore unless you do PQ's. That's the only thing I hate about maple today. I played KMS for awhile, but wow it was NOT better than GMS. The english community(a lot of them, anyway) tried to act as if they were the enforcers and protecters of maple law in the KR version, there's no NLC so the pots suck, there's no 2xp, and if I try to bring my gf to play the KR version with me EVERYONE HITS ON HER, you'd think that the english players are bad but holy crap. The English players also love to point out Basil, as if they were in some kind of Tsundere relationship to Basil, no matter who you are, if you do something they don't agree with you'll hear: ''Wow I bet you come from Basil, wow you're as stupid as the people from Basil'', they literally cannot find anything better to insult with. They're also gluttons for labor in video games.
GMS is just awesome, sure we have ''n00bs'' here, but I'd rather be surrounded by noobs than the other thing, so I also think I enjoy GMS's community more. I don't see what's to hate about it either, I was a major casher on my I/L AM, I wasted ridiculous amounts of nx on stupid stuff(before the trade system came out) but I haven't cashed at all on my newer characters, and getting scrolls to sell in the MTS is actually easy now with the monster cleanup pq, so I never had to use actual money to buy 2xp cards, something that you'd have to work much harder for in KMS.
I just don't see why GMS is hated so much.
(when dual blade comes out, I'll probably love/hate the hell out of that job to, and knowing Nexon it'll be cash only here).

Maple is so depressing to log onto now. A lot of guildies quit which was really the #1 reason I still played. Thinking about moving onto World of Warcraft and giving that a try. Even though its pay to play, I did the math and its a LOT cheaper than Maplestory in my case. LOL =P ($15 a month vs $40-80 hmm.) So I'm gonna see if I can have fun with that game...=\

I got really frustrated with my slow computer last month so I haven't played or logged on since the end of January.
There are so many rude people that you just get tired of it.
I want to play more since I haven't played MS long at all, just a few months, so I don't know what a lot of you talk about the game is going downhill. The game is still exciting for me right now. I so want my arans to get those rings but i'm not sure how to manage it.
For all I know I might have been hacked although my characters were really poor,(I did have 5000 nx tho) but idk how widespread the hackers attacked. But playing on my current OLD computer makes MS lonely, because people are impatient while I slowly jump from map to map, and slow leveling due to lag. It's going to take a long time to save for a new computer- bills ugh- but maybe I need to just log in and be afk or whatever so I don't get hacked.

Edit: I AM funded, and people think that if you're funded you either have no life or MS is awesome fun for you. Actually, it REALLY sucks... I've been doing a lot more in RL so... Have a girl I like(: gonna cut my ugly emo hair, work out some and get a new name for myself in High School, Maple was fun (wayyyy back when) but not anymore... Might come on every now and then though...

Hating the company =/= hating the game. I'm still very interested in maple story, but as far as I'm concerned it's currently unplayable, therefore I don't play it.
Also a lot of us have bonds with other members here.

Watching the everyday happenings. Theres not really alot of forums to check, not interested in alot of things so it doesnt take long to stop by and see whats happening. Maybe see if any of the hacked people got reimbursed (never gonna happen). Super funny that even worse hacks are coming out, the market is even more shot when all the stripped godly gear was being turned over. That pitch hack thread is hilarious. I dont know what event it refers to but 1k nx chaos scrolls = lol.
