Hopefully when they rebalance AMs they won't just add the cooldown to the ultimates, and not alter anything else to compensate to make them decent small mob killers.

Just a guess, but because Pirates wound up costing them money to make, they could have simply written the class off as being a waste of their time, and not balance them at all (probably not, but it's a possibility). It's unfortunate that the person asking these questions couldn't ask the one about a Thunderbreaker outdamaging a buccaneer using barrage on a boss until they reach 200, and still outdamaging them on lightning weak enemies. More than likely they'll continue to think nothing's wrong and nothing will be done.

Wow sounds really interesting. I hope some good things come out of these changes. I'm really interested in seeing the magician and paladin changes. They really do need work. I dislike how people always default back to the 'ultimate' argument. Just because a class can level fast doesn't make it good. With Evan release arch mages are completely useless. If they change them to be more active like Evans then I might dust of my mage. Though I wonder how they can change them. With everyone having spent sp and used skill books. Seems like all they want to do is boost the magic damage formula and possibly nerf ultimate’s like an Evan.

I hope they can do something really good with Paladins. They have to be the most shafted class in the whole game. It's such a waste, I hope they now know how to handle them right.

THE ONLY REASON PIRATES BUCCS AREN'T GETTING YOU ENOUGH MONEY IS BECAUSE PEOPLE THINK THEY'RE WEAK AS F'UCK NEXON, WHICH IS TRUE. MAYBE IF YOU SPENT 5 MINUTES TO MAKE US MORE BALANCED COMPARED TO EVERY SINGLE OTHER CLASS IN THIS GAME YOU WOULD GET MORE MONEY FROM THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY GIVING IT TO YOU. Not a lot of people make Corsairs, either, and we're a pretty good class.

Did i ever say that shadowers are perfect and that they aren't weak as f'uck either?

AMs, paladins, and shadowers were all in need of skill changes.

BUT THE FACT THAT THEY BLATENTLY DISREGARD BUCCS WHEN IT'S EXTREMELY OBVIOUS THAT WE'RE IN THE SAME NEED OF SKILL CHANGES IS UNFORGIVABLE.

Arans are average to above average at everything from 1st job to 4th job.

I was talking more about the large number of people who get Corsairs to 12x/13x and quit because NLs are "easier" or "more wanted for Zakum," or that the ship is slow, leading to lack of interest in the class, even though we're quite good at 13x.

outside of upping damage for solo hitting, i really dont see how they can rebalance arch mages at this point. if they put a cooldown on ults it basically kills the only saving grace of the job. you train fast and can 1 hit ko most mobs.

an ult nerf would also be really awkward for bishops. they don't really have another attack they could replace gen with that wouldn't be horrible to train with. angel ray + summon? @___@ even if made stronger, that's just... lol

given the skills that they gave the arch mage job, what are they going to do?... the summons are fairly strong but are slow/clunky. cl and paralyze, even if made stronger, are such poorly designed skills to begin with.

infinity and mama reflect are a waste of sp..., your talking 180+ before most people touch them... they really provide a useless level of help by that time. they aren't special enough to bother with them early on when they could possibly be somewhat useful.

the easiest fix would seem to be the demon skills, as they could easily be updated to be great skills, but is that going to make up for an ult nerf? :x

if they half ass it they could completely ruin the job. it seems too odd to think they would go back and somehow change the whole skill set to really provide a redo (also given, how do you handle so many having chars with set builds/used books/spent meso)... but i guess you never know :p either way, somewhat exciting xD

4th job i might level with you about at this point, but there's no way in hell you're going to convince me that arans are not:

A) The strongest mobbers in 1st and 2nd job.
B) The strongest overall class in 3rd job.

And here i thought it was the general opinion that 4th job corsair is fun.

Doesn't really compensate for the fact that not nearly as many people make it there compared to arans because 1st/2nd job is slow as hell.

I think it's clear at this point that mages are the characters that spend the most money on this game, so if nexon f'ucks up the skills in such a way as giving ults a cooldown or something they're going to lose tons.

I'm expecting them to just change amp, CL/para, and demons. In what way, i have no clue, but all skill updates are interesting to me.

A. When we patched Pirates into the game, we didn't make much money on it. Also, there weren't enough users playing Maplestory to compensate our cost of creating a whole new class. You know, while I'm sure American income goes to the Korean base, Nexon Korea doesn't have as many money grubbing events as NexAM. I don't know exactly how corporate money exchanges work but I have some sympathy for their money loss because they don't do the ridiculous things NexAM does.

Of course Nexon loses money. They lose money when a content update does not draw in new income. They still have to pay artists/programmers too, neither of which come cheap.
