EDIT: And the Evan promo video.
 Spoiler

... Assuming these haven't been posted already. D:

Oooooooo! That video is AMAZING. Love Dark Fog; I think that's definitely a great use for such a powerful ultimate. All the other skills seem great....of course, albeit the cast speeds.

And CHECK OUT BLAZE! Hot dang. I'm sure his isn't maxed, but it's doing 34ks already? Without an Ele wand (perhaps)? And I compared side by side with my F/P: it's cast speed is roughly that of an unboostered Paralyze?

Definitely starting to like Evan's again for their unique and useful party skills/etc. buffs, as well as a single target skill that's shaping up to look pretty nice.

Oh, and P.S.: I raved about Blaze, but honestly - look at Illusion. If that skill is sped up to Triple Throw speeds, and have it's base attack boosted to the 150-200 range, it would be an extremely deadly single target DPS skill.

FrozNlite Wrote:look at Illusion. If that skill is sped up to Triple Throw speeds

Why under any circumstances would that change happen?

They would have to change the animation completely or else it would look extremely weird. We haven't even seen an evan character with crit yet, lets wait until someone in KMS makes a video with that, with or without SE, it'd be extremely impressive i think.

[1.2.269] Evan changes/fixes - Dual - 2009-11-27

I actually think Illusion's casting speed is very nice. I just want these other attacks to be not so lolslow.

No class should have training based around the ability to critical except archers who have constant access to a critical buff. So saying "wait to see crit" is kind of pointless because if we're not seeing 1/5 hits critical already then it's not viable for training and therefore is worthless information.

Well for one thing, the promo video character was hitting 50ks with flame wheel. That * crit with or without SE is a huge boost in power.

Not to mention with blaze, if the first hit crits, even if the rest of the hits don't crit it boosts the average power of the rest of them since they depend off the first hit if i know the chain lightning effect well enough.

If you're not consistently hitting crits then it's not a viable training method. You can't train with the hopes of occasionally hitting a crit and count that as good training. And since we're not seeing any crits in any videos to date, then it's safer to conclude that the numbers we're seeing are what we should trust and be using in calculations.

I'm not saying it'll be good training, training will suck since their skill speeds are slow as balls. I'm saying crits will BOOST training, and bossing.

BombsAway Wrote:And since we're not seeing any crits in any videos

We aren't seeing any crits to my understanding because no one is maxing or can max the crit skill, so i'm saying wait till it hits KMS, when we WILL see crits.

Not according to that... just saying.

Next;

I fail to understand the constant access argument... its a passive on them, how is that not constant access? I feel like their not critting because theirs something wrong with the skill atm not that they don't crit.

Moving on;

Honestly... flame wheel is gonna be a pretty damn GOOD training skill...
I feel like everyone is basing this off of Skelegon training. So what if they cant do that? Thats not some magical requirement all mages have to pass... ever heard of training elsewhere?

Look at these mobs at ToT;

[Image: IceElementalsinToT.jpg]
* Sorry for the blurriness.

That Evan was hitting roughly 40k on those mobs, which can only get better by level, and also we have no idea if that Evan's skills were max or anything... but... 40k on each mob, with a fire wand, is 50k on each mob, and in the Ice area in Temple of Time, that's 75k per mob... meaning in the first room... Holy Crap! ... 1 hit = 3,350 exp, and since that skill hits 6 mobs, if you have 6 lined up, thats 20100 exp, much better than killing 4 skelegons lined up in 3 hits for 18000 exp, cuz in that amount of time, at ToT you would have gotten 60300 exp. And eventually that damage will just go up to the point that, you would be training in the last room, which is a mix of mobs with exp's of 4500 and 4960 (sound familiar, -cough- skelegons -cough-) and you would be 1 hitting all of them. 4x exp when u get 18000/19840 per mob, and you can 1 hit them, is 108000-119040 exp PER FLAME WHEEL O_O. And even if people are skeptical, the Evan RIGHT THERE in the video, can already hit enough to 1 hit qualm monks, so thats 3350 x 6 = 20100 x 4 = 80400 exp per flame wheel in ToT. And not to mention... if you really need to finish things off because u couldn't 1 hit them, blaze wouldn't exactly be a bad choice (or in the corner where you would only need to kill like 1.)

I rest my case.

Idk why, but for me, Evan looks extremely boring compared to Aran.

Same here, and I thought Aran looked extremely boring compared to Corsairs/MMs/Buccs/Shadowers.

iirc, the time temple mobs aren't weak to fire. They are weak to lightning.

According to Hidden-Street, here in GMS...

And I may be a weak mage for now, but...

According to Ifrit...

I'm a Paladin. They're weak to both here in GMS.

Some more Dark Fog usage if anyone cares.
At about 0:10.

You forget he probably isn't luckless. Just saying.

I did see the 9 from the 39k and thought 49k, then writing 50k while meaning near 50k though.

If he was lukless with godly gear that might be a 50k instead. Mages just don't get that much stronger. More important is the lack of Ele wands.

My bad, my memory did not serve me correctly. I thought I had remembered that from the really old extraction Fiel did (when TT was new) that the ice mobs weren't weak to fire, and that the oblivion mobs weren't weak to ice (which I believe is still true since I don't notice any damage boost being there on my aran).

Qualms are weak to Fire and Lightning. Oblivions are weak to just Poison. It really makes me mad. Rolleyes

Bribery Wrote:Here's a decent training video, though it's on Insoya (someone upload to youtube plox). He has pretty good control over his character, but I still think Evan's attacks are too slow and weak. The official release date seems to be December 17th, so hopefully they make some more changes before then.

Level 142 Evan @ Skeles

He's actually quite strong equipment wise so you can't use the "he's only weak because it's KMST" argument. He has 1141 Matk at level 142, without Maple Warrior, which is very impressive even by GMS standards. The SS is posted below the video.

Also notice how he doesn't use a single 10th mastery skill. Either he doesn't have any points in them, or the 10th mastery skill level is 150+.

Here's the Youtube version of the video from AristosMS.

Wow, that's some slow-ass killing. I can only hope it would improve significantly with 10th job skills, or they're pretty much up the creek.

Also, why hasn't Soul Stone been changed to suck less? It's pretty much useless as it is.
