Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - Russt - 2008-08-04 Wait for it. There are probably going to be a lot more implementations between now and ifever we get this that'll all throw the economy topsy-turvy. Example: Pirates. Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough - ChaosCorpse - 2008-08-07 The way I see it, seeing as we don't have any monsters with etc drops higher than lvl 113; and, assuming I understand this right, we would need crystals from lvl 120+ monster drops to make the lvl 120 stuff; when this first comes out, lvl 120 equipment will be unavailable. I'm also going to assume that we will get pirates before we receive the Time Temple (which would give us the needed etc drops). So it's use is going to change as we progress in our patches. I estimate that in the beginning, funded individuals are going to use this for one of 3 things: 1. Use the stat crystals to buff up all their class equipment (the most obvious one). This will obviously inflate them for a while as people want as many stats as they can get, I'll assume that the priority and cost will wind up being from highest to lowest Luk, Wisdom, Dex, Strength. 2. You know those people who do something called hp washing? Well, I hear that they use Int equipment whenever they lvl up to add mp... See where I'm going with this? They can add 5 int to every piece of equipment they have to significantly boost their washing ability (at least I think it will). 3. HP equipment. Cheaper means to survive and still be able to scroll for more power. Yes, people will want to make the lvl 110 equipment, but I don't think it will catch on too well here at first. Many people already have very well scrolled items and the process to make these is very difficult and may end up in failure since they are only making clean items to begin with. Throw a 30% on there and it could be gone. I'm sure that once we are able to make the 120 set, it will change entirely though. With the ability to lvl up items and gain an extra skill point, I'm sure that set will catch on. As for me, I just want my nice looking lvl 110 archer set and could care less about even scrolling it with the buffs I'll add clean. I've never cared that much about stats. This maker skill is just too interesting! It'll probably be ages before we get it in GMS, but the economy's going to go nuts when these things are released. Thanks a lot for posting this, but I've got another question. You mentioned diamonds can only be added to weapons. Does this mean that all the other gems can work on everything? If so, it looks like I'll be crafting some 5 int archer boots. Wow, I might even be making int archer gloves/overall. Ooor I might not really care about my int much by that point in time. Beyond making some really godly equipment, this system's going to make some really interesting and variable equipment. Dex crystals/wisodom are going to skyrocket, dark/black crystals are going to go really high as well, scrolls (particularly 60s) are going to be seeing some massive inflation as well when this arrives. It's a shame we can't make maple weapons with these, and I hope the level 110/120 items become a bit more craftable than they are now. edit: Isaac, what's that black claw-looking thing in your inventory? It's on the 4th page in your screenshot of the overall you made, two above and two right of the overall in your inv. The level 120 equipment needs a new kind of ore called Time Stones, which only drop from Time Temple monsters at the moment, so yes, Time Temple is necessary to forge 120 equips. (And, I would assume, level 120 shields for the other jobs, but that's not confirmed. (Like, equips with 0 slots). 2) Suppose you used three crystal on an item. How will another person know how many crystals were used on the item before they buy it, if it doesn't say on the item how many 'crystal' slots are left? 3) I noticed the level requirement crystal. Is there a point to it? Will it reduce the stat requirement in proportion to the level amount deducted, or will the stat requirements remain the same while only the level is reduced? Because if it's only level reduction and not stat reduction, then it's pretty useless. 4) Are the scroll 'crystals' tradeable? If so, then wouldn't it be better to buy it like you would a scroll? 5) How rare is the time debris? Is the time debris tradeable? Theres no crystal slots, you use crystals when you actually create the item itself. I haven't read much on this. But I'm guessing those are the correct answers, based on what I have interpreted. EDIT: Don't know about the level requirement. I agree with you. Tradeable crystals? I'm thinking you will just have to buy the etc. Items. I think the whole reason they put the etc. Item thing in there was the whole purpose of, higher levels getting the better upgrades. Don't know about #5.
