I can't resist abusing the power that would come from this. I'll apply using my Demethos account, so hopefully I can end up in Broa. If I end up in Broa, say goodbye to RedFalchion. I'll go attempt to ban the members. The moment someone in RedFalchion curses, they'll be an instant 1-month ban for them. Cool All members of RedFalchion can go Pineapple themselves, especially CelsiousGoggleemoticon

yes.. they would actually let someone as immature as you become a guide...

I applied. I think I have a good chance. :f6:

Reading all of your replies.

- I think they are trying to get the honest out of you. And I think alot of you are being too honest. I think they want good clean accounts. Not people who have violated the TOS, to warn other people who are violating it also. That would mean they are hiring a bunch of hypocrites. Redface

I myself was honest too. Only thing I have to worry about is multiple accounts.

Developers are hypocrites themselves if you think about it. They use a private server to test for bugs themselves. Redface

A test server isn't a private server

Multiple accounts isn't even in the TOS. Hasn't been since like 2007 when it became abundantly clear it was both unenforceable, and pointless. More accounts = more sale opportunities since you can't share NX accross accounts like you can with multiple characters on the same.

Private:
removed from or out of public view or knowledge; secret

Tespia isn't open to the public view, thus making it PRIVATE. It is also a server, making it a PRIVATE SERVER. Rolleyes
And he was obviously acting dumb because of the Redface.

And in the title to the email, is it "<y0y0y0y0shi0>" or just "y0y0y0y0shi0"?
But crap...I can't remember the bday i used.

You remind me of someone... but I just can't quite put my finger on it. : |

And, I put < Penis_Von_Dick > in the title.

The brackets are designators of a variable, not part of the formatting being requested, therefore it'd be just y0y0y0y0shi0.

FYI - Your half attempt at proving Tespia is a PServer is missing the fact that Private actually in this instance means unauthorized (Privately Owned and Operated), not restricted access.

Yea, I know, just a stupid attempt of word-play. Biggrin

And thanks, I got confused after he said this:
"(Tip: Include your Nexon ID in the brackets. Don’t put <Nexon ID here> when you submit the ticket. We think that this is self explanatory, but you never know…"
I knew the brackets usually meant a "insert here" type thing, but after I read that, I got all confuzzled. Frown

Figures a Nexon attempt at clarification would confuse more people than it helped.

Just assume it was meant as "in the space occupied by the brackets".

I doubt whether we bracket or not will be the deciding factor in whether we make it to round two.

ecwcwwe Wrote:Applied, and while I havn't done anything to get banned for (1 account, no sharing, no private servers, no hacking, no false info, etc..), I am still worried about how they will "investigate" my character.

Like, Under the PrivateServer question, I mentioned that I have never played a private server, but am a part of a forum where they run a PS
So, if they investigate my ign and see that I post there, Id hate for them to just assume I play on their private servers... especially since I joined years before the private servers were even created

Then at the very bottom where it asked for any additional info, I gave my explanation for my ign name change back in jan (ZacEcwcwweV3 to AuthenticZac... Needs explaining so they don't get suspicious)

But yea, while asking for your license does ensure that no one will have multiple Maple Guide accounts, it does seem like a bit much. Im sure many parents are not going to allow their kids to submit that kind of info, meaning that only us older players are going to get to be guides. Even then, how many of us are actually willing to give up our driver's license? >_> Idk about you, but my picture isn't all that great.

I'm fairly certain they're looking for people aged 18+ for this, not kids. Just common sense there.

I could say alot to this comment, but I won't.

It's their game.

Tespia is Nexon's, not some 14 year old asian kid who's trying to make pocket change.

A company has the right to do whatever they want with the stuff they own.

A 14 year old kid doesn't have the write to steal crap from a big ass company, and make money off it.

PS: I'm against even playing private servers. You are supporting a crime.

Fksicles. I put the brackets. Should I resend? >.>

Agreed. Private Servers are no better than thugs who break into your house and steal all your crap to sell at ridiculously cheap prices cause it didn't cost them anything.

Wow this thread filled up fast from last night! Time to respond to some comments.

IsaacGS Wrote:I don't intend to apply, I don't really need more responsibilities at the moment :p I also have pretty high standards for something like this; I have very little confidence that many people of GMS will use this system properly. Hell, I'm not even sure I would be able to resist the temptation to abuse it. I just don't trust most people with it really.

Haha Isaac.

Yea, I think a lot of definitely don't necessarily agree with their program. After all, who can do the job of a GM better than paid, trained Nexon GMs? All it would really take them is hiring extra staff to service those spots...but remember, this is Nexon we're talking about. They do everything possible to make money AND save money, and what better way to accomplish this than by allowing eager teenagers and college students do their work (partially) for them? Now I'm not saying that it's a BAD thing to be looking for measures to keep your staff and save money, but since these maneuvers have been utilized within the past few years, I'm think it's safe to assume the recession was not the first worry on their minds when creating this program.

eos367 Wrote:Well, "overboard" is subjective and Nexon does have a history of somewhat draconian concepts of right and wrong. Or have you have forgotten their attempt to shut down southperry?

Regarding Paul's post much earlier, this is definitely why people are reacting the way they are. At least it goes to show you half the people who post on SP have the common sense to be cautious. Throw in Felix's swine flu example, and the metaphor is complete: Nexon is unpredictably bipolar, and those aware of the fact have ample reason to be uneasy.

I went ahead and resent my application, with the correct subject form, and sent it on the email that is tied to my account.

Hopefully there is nothing wrong with that.

Most users know that their information is important and that they should not lose it. However, it never hurts to take precaution as scammers are constantly devising plans to steal your account and info.

2. Nexon employee will not ask for your password in the game or in an email.
If they claim to be working for Nexon and ask you for your information, ignore them then report to us.

3. Trust nothing and no one.
It is very easy for someone to impersonate an Nexon personnel. The trick is to use common sense and ask yourself if what they are asking for you to do is reasonable.

4. Watch out for scams.

6. You must use anti-virus and anti-spyware.
These programs will block most malicious programs from being installed on your computer. Please note that anti-virus and anti-spyware software are two different things and that you'll need them both to better protect your computer.

7. Update your software.
Internet browsers and vaccine programs are constantly updated to accommodate for the increasing types of viruses or scams. You should keep your software updated in order to protect your account from the newest hacks/viruses.

8. Do not use other computers.
Playing on someone else's computer (i.e. internet caf? drastically increases the chances of getting hacked. If you must play somewhere else, please make sure that the computer you're using is safe from getting hacked. Furthermore, do not leave any traces of your information.

Exactly why most of the people submitting apps as of today are confident enough that either (A) this is the real thing or (B) if this is a scam and they lose their accounts, it won't be the end of their world. I for one, while loving my account to death, would be willing to risk something like this since it appears extremely legit. If I lose, ohwell.

WHAT AM I TO DO WITH MY LIFE WITHOUT MAPLESTORY? GO STUDY AT COLLEGE? HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS? OH THE HORROR!
