I honestly forgot how to enhance stuff. lol
I'm level 15, I just have to go to sleeper's something dungeon for level 15 and then I think (hope) I can job advance my kali. I already went inside her mind and beat up hyenas and stuff.

When I log back on tomorrow I'll toss an invite there. And atm I'm in this adventurers guild thing or something, I'm guessing I'll have to leave that first right

Dragon Nest Social Thread - JPTheMonkey - 2013-07-13

Yep, you'll have to leave the Hero's Academy. Every new character is stuck in one "to meet new friends." Also, enhancing is simple - find a blacksmith, ask to trade, click enhance and select an item. +1-3 are 100%, after +6 items can begin to break and, if they're magic/rare they can begin to degrade. Epics and above begin to degrade at +4. You'll also need the materials listed when you select the item to enhance. As for job advance, that is the proper way for Kali. Do the Hyena bit, then go to Temple of the Sleepers, and you can advance to Screamer or Dancer.

Kaasoljoyyx; you roll a Gear Master right? On my Shooting Star I've gone with Chemical Warfare Debuff, Super Ball Damage, Splash Damage, Make It Rain Damage, (extra crest slots for the next 3 weeks or so here) Alfredo Tank CD, Alfredo Smash CD, and Quackums Damage. The only crest I'm iffy on is Alfredo Smash. Any ideas of a replacement? Looking into Slip n' Slide CD, or Frost Quacker CD. Also, for accessories, I'm looking into switching from my FD set (Apoc Punish/Judgement) to techs once the level 60 techs become available. I'm looking into Super Ball, Alfredo Overdrive, Alfredo Tank, and maybe Splash or something. I may have messed up the exact setup as I looked into for just a couple minutes a week or two ago, so I may have 2 Necklace/Earring techs listed or 3 Ring techs.

Dragon Nest Social Thread - 案山子 - 2013-07-13

Just came back and using a Kali (Going Spirit Dancer). Dem storage coupons tho. 1.6k total for 60 slots? Plus 2 sets of free expansions after that? So much easier to get expansions for new characters than it was in the beginning. I don't think you even started off with a single full page in the very beginning of the game either.

Enjoying Kali a lot so far and I'm barely Lv22. Dem combos mangs. I love launching things into the air, jumping up and hitting them with normal air attack, follow up immediately with aerial right-click skill and then use another normal air attack. All the yes. Works even better on bosses.

The following depends more or less on your build but if you use a semi-standard PvE shooting star build this is what I would do

Crests
=====
Splash dmg
Superball dmg
Make it rain dmg
Chemical debuff / alfredo tank CD

Since you're using vip, these are the next 3
Chemical debuff / alfredo tank CD
Quackems dmg
Frost quacker CD

I've seen people use the 4th slot for any of the skills i have listed above. The ultimate is another popular choice. Depends what you do mainly on the game.

For accessories, switch to either deadly desire 4 set or use some combinations of 1~4 techs + other stuff. The 4 teched skills imo would be

Necklace: Alfredo tank
Earring: Superball
Rings:
kami (Only if it's level 10)
yumatron - if you like spitting out 2 foods
Alfredo overdrive - only hits level 5 so iffy
Splash - hits level 7, not that bad

I'd do splash + kami. If your kami isn't level 10, then pick yumatron vs overdrive depending on yumatron usage (mainly raids/nests)

About the Priest crests, I've got rare skill crests for Healing Relic (cooldown), Lightning Relic (cooldown), and Aura of Healing (+2.5% healing). I've already got the Lightning Relic and Healing Relic crests equipped, should I consider swapping the Lightning Relic out for anything else?

Dragon Nest Social Thread - Alilatias - 2013-07-13

Most Priests roll with any of the following crests in PvE:

- Healing Relic CD
- Aura of Healing heal %
- Cure Relic CD
- Chain Lightning damage
- Grand Sigil CD
- Holy Shield buff duration

Lightning Relic CD isn't really recommended anymore... It just drops the CD from 10 -> 8 seconds. It was required to set up walls to block attacks back in Sea Dragon Nest at 40 cap, but now everything has such massive AoE and/or needs to be jumped that relic walls don't do anything but possibly block your own teammates' movements and line of sight. :/

Also, Chain Lightning is hilarious burst damage, and becomes WAY better the more you level it.

Alilatias Wrote:Also, Chain Lightning is hilarious burst damage, and becomes WAY better the more you level it.

I noticed; I've got it to Lv3 and whenever I do anything with Hobgoblins in it, Chain Lightning usually one shots them.

Dragon Nest Social Thread - Kaasoljoyyx - 2013-07-14

If you are a saint get

Heal relic CD
Aura of heal %
Grand sigil CD
Holy shield duration

That's best support saint crests for PvE

If you are an inquis, swap holy shield for chain lightning.

Priests have a lot of good crests though so investing in VIP is not a bad idea at all.

Dragon Nest Social Thread - Secun - 2013-07-14

Well I've already got the Healing Relic CD and Aura of Healing % crests. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford the Superb versions.

Dragon Nest Social Thread - Alilatias - 2013-07-14

The jump from AoH % Rare to Epic isn't that significant. 2.5% -> 3%. Not much. It's one of those 'just upgrade if you have money to blow' things. You can totally run a rare crest at endgame, although by that point you'll probably be swimming in gold quickly enough or end up finding one yourself through a Cleric plate pouch.

As for Healing Relic CD, you'll want to upgrade ASAP. Difference between rare and epic is 54 sec CD -> 48 seconds. But most level 16-32 crest prices fluctuate wildly based on available supply and demand. A few months ago, an epic Healing Relic plate would have cost you about 1.5k+. Now it can go anywhere from 500-1k.

Chain Lightning is another example of this. I recall one particular month where I was trying to buy one towards the end of 40 cap. Prices soared to 1.5-2k after the T4 revamp turned it into one of, if not the highest DPS skill at 40 cap. I ended up buying a plate for about 1.2k since it looked like the price was stabilizing in the 1-1.5k range after two weeks. But then the week after, the price suddenly tanked to the 400-600 gold range.

Holy Shield duration should be very cheap, because the Lotus Marsh dungeons are farmed to hell, meaning super high supply. Pretty much every level 45+ skill plate is like that. Hell, this might be a plate you could end up finding yourself if you're really lucky.

Ah, Spirit Dancer. I'm thinking about making one for research purposes. The leveling in this game is fairly reasonable (many would consider fast) even through pure questing, which becomes hilarious when Nexon decides to hold a month long EXP event. I'd actually argue that questing is faster EXP than grinding most of the time, since low level grinding nowadays usually means you'll be waiting in town for really long periods of time.

Anyway, once you get to the higher levels, it will quickly become apparent that skills left at Lv. 1 will be extremely weak compared to those that reach Lv. 6 or Lv. 11. Most don't mention this, but I'd advise maxing Abolisher once you reach the level cap, because the EX skill for it is amazing (basically +60% board damage when most skills only get +30% or even less), and it also has the perk of having its CD reduced by 2 seconds at Lv. 6 and again at Lv. 11 (going from 12 seconds at Lv. 1 -> 8 seconds at Lv. 11). Dervishes and Dawnblade should be maxed too, although those are obvious.

Would you happen to know any good PvE Spirit Dancer builds? Everywhere I look I find mixed information. I'm guessing it's one of those classes that has a lot of personal preference factors.

Dragon Nest Social Thread - Alilatias - 2013-07-14

Yeah, major amounts of personal preference.

A lot of them insist that you go out and max Chakram Storm even though it's in the Blade side of the skill tree, but I don't think picking up the skill in the first place is necessary at 60 cap, considering it's slow as hell and extremely dangerous to use in a bossing situation. I'm pretty sure you can't use technique accessories to upgrade both Chakram Storm and Dawnblade to Lv. 11 as well, since they might share the same accessory slot. Investing too heavily into the blade tree seems like a bad idea, considering the Blade skills won't be affected by the Illusion buffs.

This is the build I'm planning to run with:
http://dnarmory.com/skill-calc?i=6-57-59-60#yRulYcIxKjuadXrTDx7zf

Note that the simulator has a few bugs, notably Feather Step going to Lv. 6 when max level is 5, and Windcall/Illusive Gaze going to Lv. 9 when max level is 1.

I only go down to Swivel Charge because it's a very fast-casting mobility skill and it's also one of the few skills that gets reduced CD as you level it.

Picking up Stalker and Dusk Hunter EX is a personal preference thing as their design is more PvP-oriented rather than PvE. I only took them because there was nothing else to invest SP into at this cap, unless you want to max Butterfly Whirl for reduced CD (which isn't a bad idea, I might end up doing that myself instead). I looked at 70 cap simulators already, and found that I'll have to drop both (Stalker to Lv. 1, not picking up Stalker EX and Dusk Hunter EX by default) in order to continue maxing the other skills.

Dragon Nest Social Thread - Kaasoljoyyx - 2013-07-14

I highly recommend you use http://dn.mmosite.com/tool/skilltree4.shtml?nxid=62&nxid=62 for skill builds. You need puush or something though to capture the screenshot.

And like ^ said, there are many many different spirit dancer builds. There is a cookie cutter build you should follow, then it branches into a lot of different things (probably the most out of any other class). For example, I don't use abolisher much so my abolisher is left at level 1. Some people use it a lot, so it's 6/11. Likewise, my chakram storm and swivel charge are maxed because I use them quite a bit.

So you can't really make a spirit dancer build until you're 50+ and get used to all the skills and your playstyle. I do highly recommend though you go the non-EX route if you only PvE. The only exception to this is if you love spamming dusk hunter (Personally I don't, and use spirit blow instead as filler).

Patch notes.

http://dragonnest.nexon.net/news/news/00GxS?nxid=62

Hell Nests, but no Suffix II dungeons unfortunately.

Also, dual skill trees! Gotta pay for them, though. I don't mind, Nexon's DN service this year has been really good so far (at least compared to the hell hole that was last year, to this day I still wonder if Nexon originally intended to close down DN then). And I won't have to make a separate Saint for PvP and track down all the skill crests once more.

Yay, skill effect quality can now be adjusted.

Wow, really?

I remember back in the day when people were desperate for skill effect reduction mods and the heartache when the modders would never be seen again thus never having updated mods. I remember cause I used to need those mods myself. Frown

Made some decent progress this last week. Just gotta get my cannon which I expect to finish some time next week after my nests. I got lucky on the Alfredo Overdrive tech and got 411 phys/110 vit on the first try, still trying to get phys/str/agi or something better for HA though.

Got really lucky on sparking this earlier as well.

Edit:

Finished the cannon. Remembered that Nexon once gave out 10 goddess mercies for free, did 2 dailies on each alt and got Salamander Blades with them, sold a few stacks of quality altheum for gold, and had the funds to finish.

Also +7'd the PG with some excess jellies. It would have been +8, but I tried for 9 and degraded to 7 unfortunately.
