If you weren't already, try using all the dojo buffs that add attack. Even if it adds a lot of time it doesn't really matter that much anymore unless you're going for rank 1.

is breath actually a good dps increase though, in all honesty? I don't really bother with it since it's only 1 more hit a second or so. Tempest blades and 3 wingbeats are a definite must, however.

Gear is absolutely the most important component though. Nobody can deny that.

I personally don't use it, feels really slow to me but if you see pap about to go into it's shell it wouldn't be bad burst damage. I also like what [MENTION=10104]Argonaut[/MENTION]; said with using the attack buffs if you're just trying to finish and not caring for time, it adds just that extra bit of damage you might need.

So I managed to get a 9:52 time after the Unleashed update, I even beat the hacker. Biggrin

This range is with my empress gloves on, I gain around 75kish range when I equip rank 1 gloves apparently without any buffs.
