I do assume that things work out in Fairy Tail's favour, ie lack of deaths and such but I hope he spend a significant amount of time on the actual "future" itself instead of simply brushing over it.

I also wonder if Sting and Rouge join Fairy Tail.

The stroyline aside this arc strikes me as similar to the One Piece war arc. It'll revive the manga but also set future arcs to look more boring by comparison unless he makes them drastic.

It's hardly piling on people to the fairy tail guild. Unless I'm missing people, the only ones to join since the manga started are Gajeel/Juvia, Wendy/ Charla and Panther Lily. 5 people in 300 chapters. And Lily "joined" around 100 chapters ago (He got his stamp somewhere around 198-200, though you could count the time when Gajeel first invited him, which would make it even earlier).

That said, I do think we have enough characters in the guild: we don't even get enough real screen time for all the characters in the guild right now, any more: especially dragon slayers, would be overkill. I cannot however imagine sting, rogue and frosch staying at Sabretooth once the grand magic games are finished.

Well, that's kinda my point. They have so many characters in the guild that it's hard to focus on them all. I mean, Lisana has had barely any time at all to flesh her character out.

Frankly, the cold blooded murder of his best friend is far worse as far as I'm concerned. He also might have if sting hadn't, you know, punched a laser through Gemma before the whole thing was done with.

I think it was also partly to do with ~Yukinos stupidity. Rather than explain herself or aplogise, she told Gemma she would "accept any punishment". Clearly that is not a smart thing to say to a person who is clearly a psychopath

However, now that I think about it, this latest chapter highlights quite a lot the differences between sting and rogue.

The only thing we know about Rogue and Frosch is that he promised that Frosch "wouldn't disappear", which seems to be going along with the idea that Rogue values friendship more than anything. Sting instead promised to lector that he would "beat Natsu", which not only could he not do, but resulted in him losing his best friend.

I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of this Stings repeated arrogance and mistakes cause him to die, particularly because of how important exceed appear to be for the dragon slayers (because from what we saw of Acknowlogia, you really do need to be able to fly to fight them), and I seriously believe that letting Lector die will come back to bite him in the ass hard when the dragons feast begins. If anyone DOES join fairy tail, I think it will be Rogue and Frosch end up joining, and sting will not, he just believes too many things that clash with teh fairy tail beliefs (though Gajeel was similar before he joined)

My god, I didn't see that coming. My only regret is that they didn't leave that guy to Makarov to go Titan mode and beat the sheep out of him before Sting Killed him:

Girl in the cloak is Lucy. Having Lector die this time around kinda confirmed it for me. Mashima would really have to have balls to kill off Lector at this point in my opinion. So, eventually there will be a time warp which takes them back to the beginning of the Grand Magic Games where things are resolved and they know how to finally fix everything.

FT will not have had their winning streaks and Lector will still be alive. Sabertooth will still be the top guild, and future arcs will be to give FT a better image still. FT's winning streak and Natsu beating Sting/Rogue singlehandedly combined with the death of Lector really make me think a time warp will happen.

That sounds plausible but its also too simple. Having Fairy Tail choose between their victory and the sake of the world sounds fitting for the manga. Their choice would be obvious, while everyone still laugh at them, they will know in their hearts they are the greatest. But then it would be really disappointing for something thats building so much hype, like Tobi> Obito> Madara >OMG who's this> Obito was.

Unless it is something like: Everything develops, they all have their fights, Sabretooth, Mermaid, Lamia, FairyTail, etc, while those that know the truth are trying to stop the background plans. Things break loose and despite their greatest efforts the world goes to hell. Then in their last breath they learn what was their mistake and use an ultimate resource to send someone back and change that little detail which made all of their efforts fruitless (*cough* Lector's death *cough*)

I know it sounds like whats going on right now, but I really would like to see in full detail what this Apocalypse future is about, before someone comes in a saves the day.

Mashima has hyped this climax up for so long and i think he's being really awesome with this arc so far what with the unpredictability and all. I didn't see lector's death coming AT ALL, and the future lucy is interesting but i feel it's a slippery slope. No matter what though we just gotta wait and see.
