Though I had +24 AP from my runepage, so that kind of gave me an edge in farming after level 9....

Imagine you don't have runes for a second.
Apen will be better if you have at least 45 ad + 1 ad for every .6 armour they have or more.
Otherwise ad runes will be better.

For example, lvl 1 ashe has 46.3 ad
(46.3-45)*.6=.78
Since your opponents don't have .78 armour, ad is better in this case.
If she starts with a doran's blade,
(56.3-45)*6=6.78
ad runes are still better.

But, when ashe is lvl 10 and has 2 bf swords,
base ad: 74.8
ad from bf swords: 90
total ad: 164.8

(164.8-45)*.6=71.88
If your opponent has less than 71.88 armour then apen is better.


In short, the more ad you build, the better apen is, and the more armour your opponent has the better ad is.

So earlier today I was sick of getting bad comps after dodging a game with HORRIBLE team comp, so I decided to play a ranked, I went on, clicked ranked and it told me to wait 2 more mins because I had dodged normal, then I forgot and did other stuff. When I clicked back I just pressed "Play" and solo queue ignoring anything else. It was ranked and I thought "meh why not".

Based on our team I offered myself to jungle with Udyr and everyone thought that was fine, most tanks were banned (Rammus, Amumu, Singed and Alistar) so both teams had rare tanks (Blitz on enemy team, Irelia and Me on my team). I started of GREAT.... ok the very beginnning no, since our Ashe said she was new and she really meant it, she didn't know what leash was and started attacking golem with me, then took half the exp, so I was a little underleveled, but they had no jungler so after I finished my side I went enemy wraiths and then went b.

Anyway after that it was killing time for me, went top and got a double kill, too bad first blood was taken a little earlier by enemy Ez against our Ashe. At some point I was 8/0/6 and then started to fail a bit here and there. Mid game/late game were awful though, they started winning most teamfights, and their Yi split pushed like a peach, I was REALLY annoyed since I was having such a nice game and it was gonna be lost to backdooring/pushing by Yi only.

After various failed attempts to push from our team, since they always had someone there to cock block whoever was pushing right next to the tower, they went baron, we had it warded so while as I revived and ghosted to baron, my team stayed close, then Lux who I loved ults them, steals baron and gets 2 or 3 people low, we kill 3 leaving Yi and someone else only, we pushed mid till nexus and got the game!

I would've been mad if we had lost, now I'm even 1/1 on ranked >.0 that loss was so dam lame I don't even want to remember I ever played it.

I feel sick. I played a terrible game. Worst I played in months. Only thing is....I'm not sure why. (ranked)

Our team was Amumu, Kennen, Heimerdinger. So I picked Ashe. Bob picked jungle warwick. We were up against Alistar, Poppy, Rammus, Karthus, and Corki.

I ended up 1-10-11.

Teammates were constantly yelling at each other early game, and I tried to quiet it down. So I started rushing Infinity Edge (after 3 movement boots). Some dude was like wtp are you noob stop rushing edge, edge is noob. He said to pack some magic resis ever since Karthus blew 1/3 of my hp. So I was like, fine, and packed a negatron cape. Then after I finished my edge I built a banshee's veil.

Only thing was...I died a lot. I'm not sure how. Maybe Ashe's range is too short or something, so as soon as I step close attack, wham! They all went after me. It was terrible. One time I waited a little bit for them to blow all of their and attacks (or at least I think they did), then either Poppy or Alistar or Rammus or Corki would chase the hell out of me and I died instantly. I landed a decent portion of my arrows too, after our team spent the cc (and some far range snipes with the ult, but I never got the kill).

I'll have to admit I was terribly at last hitting. I wasn't too bad, but pretty bad. I guess I should've brought less wards (I was the only one on my team who would get them, which actually prevented some ganks), and should've bought a couple Doran's blades and probably a Wiggle's.

Team eventually started cursing at me and Bob for being terrible. I got yelled at (by a different dude) for buying too much magic resis. Yeah, one banshee's veil, after the other dude said to buy more magic resis. They started saying in all chat and stuff how we had no dps.

I wish I recorded this game for you guys to see what I could improve on. I'm thinking it was my positioning, but I thought my positioning was pretty damm well. I was always in the back in every teamfight. Always. I just feel so...terrible.

The situation you described is one where you want to build more tanky than normal. Wriggle's and Negatron are the way to go, possibly even Hexdrinker (to be honest though, if Karthus is ulting you're probably below 30% HP already)

Well, my brother hit silver fairly easily alone. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but he's not exactly "better at the game" than me :S and some 1700+ players don't exactly impress me /ego

I've been meaning to start ranked one of these days, I guess this is just giving me the final push.

We'll see what happens. But if you get that far, I can definitely get that far too.

I heard that skill really starts to matter at roughly 1800-1900 or so. Before then, just carry your way through ranked. Capitalizing on OP champs is a plus.
