Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Lozmaster - 2013-05-04 DavyJonesx Wrote:I'm only pointing out that getting stronger means you get smaller... Which...almost never applies to pokemon Shaymin, Giratina, Black/White Kyurem, all have multiple forms that are significantly different in size, with the larger one having the higher att or Sp. Att. The rest of the pokemon don't have significant changes in size (Heck, even giratina is pushing *significant*) Maybe you have an argument for darmitian in that he switches his high att for high SP.Att, in his smaller form, but thats about it. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - DavyJonesx - 2013-05-04 Lozmaster Wrote:Which...almost never applies to pokemon Well I was talking about Mewtwo. Only pointed it out cause it sounds illogical... Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Razmos - 2013-05-04 DavyJonesx Wrote:Well I was talking about Mewtwo. It's not illogical. Mewtwo is a clone of Mew. It makes sense that as Mewtwo "awakens" and becomes more powerful, it becomes more like the original pokemon that created it. Mewtwo is transitioning from a man-made pokemon into it's own species, and therefore looks more like a pokemon and less like a human. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Lozmaster - 2013-05-04 DavyJonesx Wrote:Well I was talking about Mewtwo. Oh, my bad. I forget sometimes that the world where it is considered an advantage to be using a tiny electric mouse against a fully grown whale is completely logical. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - DavyJonesx - 2013-05-04 Razmos Wrote:It's not illogical. I see. So Mewtwo get's smaller, because when he gets stronger, he becomes more like the original pokemon that created it. I just find getting smaller when you get stronger an illogical concept, because like @Lozmaster pointed out; it almost never applies to pokemon... I also don't get what, Mewtwo transitioning from a man-made pokemon into it's own species, and therefore looking more like a pokemon and less like a human, has to do with me using buu and mewtwo as an example to point out that I find getting smaller when you get stronger is an illogical concept... Just sayin' ![]() Lozmaster Wrote:Oh, my bad. I forget sometimes that the world where it is considered an advantage to be using a tiny electric mouse against a fully grown whale is completely logical. Oh my bad for having an opinion. I forget sometimes that that's not allowed on the internet. I only find it illogical, because like u said; it almost never applies to pokemon. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Dredragon - 2013-05-04 Razmos Wrote:It's not illogical. This makes me like the new mewtwo even more, especially if that's the reason why. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Malthe - 2013-05-04 Mewtwo is a special attack oriented pokémon, why should size play into his power? Size and physical strength might have something to do with eachother but surely we can agree that size has nothing to do with psychic strength/mental powers. Not to mention it has happened before in pokémon that the stronger pokémon in the evolutionary line was smaller. Gloom->bellossom for example. Or haunter->gengar. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Razmos - 2013-05-04 DavyJonesx Wrote:I see.Logic doesn't necessarily apply in pokemon. need we remind you of Hot Skitty on Wailord Action. It has everything to do with Mewtwo becoming a "real" pokemon. It wasn't a true pokemon because it was manufactured and thus had limitations due to how it was created, by "awakening" and bypassing those limitations it becomes what is basically a real pokemon. Like in Jurassic Park where the dinosaurs are manufactured by scientists, and are therefore not meant to exist. They are unable to breed but they find a way, because life finds a way. the same applies here. Mewtwo becomes smaller because it becomes more like Mew. Saying that something can't become smaller and more powerful is denying the existence of already small but powerful pokemon like Mew, Celebi ect. saying "it almost never applies to pokemon." is silly. we didn't have fusion until the last gen, then comes along White and Black Kyurem. And like with the case of Buu, there are lots of examples of things becoming more powerful and decreasing in size in tons of media, especially in Japan. in anime, games, JRPG's especially. There is always a base form (Mew), an imperfect and monstrous form (Mewtwo) and then a perfect form (Awakened Mewtwo) it's just how these things work. I mean hell, if we are using DBZ references, there was also Freiza and Cell, who did the EXACT same thing. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - DavyJonesx - 2013-05-05 Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Malthe - 2013-05-05 How can it be illogical when they're not pokémon that rely on their physique? They rely on psychic powers. There is nothing illogical about body size becoming smaller and still becoming stronger. If it was something like conkeldurr evolving and then becoming timburr then i'd agree that it's pineappleing illogical. But not when it's something that relies on psychic powers. In nature, size often has a lot to do with physical prowess, but it rarely has something to do with mental aptitude. Thus why most dinosaurs, even the largest ones were barely smarter than a dumb rodent. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Niernen - 2013-05-05 Guys, stop arguing about it. We all know size doesn't matter
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - DavyJonesx - 2013-05-05 Malthe Wrote:How can it be illogical when they're not pokémon that rely on their physique? They rely on psychic powers. You're saying that there is nothing illogical about body size becoming smaller and still becoming stronger. Like it's a statement of fact. Which it isn't. Finding something logical is merely based on opinion. Saying that I find the concept of getting smaller when you get stronger sounding illogical is an OPINION. My opinion. But you say my OPINION is incorrect. It's an OPINION. Which I did not base on FACTS or w/e. Therefor proving my OPINION wrong is impossible. Again. It's an OPINION. Lmao sorry for arguing. I just like having long debates
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Malthe - 2013-05-05 I have not said your opinion was wrong, i've made it quite clear that i disagree with you but i have NOT said that you are not allowed to have your own opinion or your view, i have merely challenged it. I even opened up my post with a question for you "How can it be illogical when they're not pokémon that rely on their physique?" and then followed the rest of my post up with again, why i feel the way i do. I CHALLENGED your point of view and said WHY i feel like it is not illogical. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Evolite - 2013-05-05 Malthe Wrote:Make more entry hazards nintendo, please, but also make the type the move belongs to remove the entry hazard upon entry like poison and toxic spikes. Oh god no, entry hazards are stupidly OP. Looking at you, stealth rock. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Colress - 2013-05-05 Rapid spin is so bleh, but at least it raises the usability of some Pokés. And then there's Taunt and Magic Bounce to counter entry hazard users. I wonder what they'll release this month. :3 Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - 案山子 - 2013-05-05 ''Smaller'' can mean more potent depending on what is being condensed. ''Energies'' are usually far more powerful when condensed. If you've ever seen characters in cartoons and crap that have some sort of energy-charge attack they usually show the charge getting smaller as time passes. This makes it more powerful. Works in real life too of course. I think Buu is also based off this logic. Like said already, Mewtwo is a special (energy) based Pokemon. Doesn't even really matter though since it's a game, and a game about magic critters with powers so... You have crap that can transform into anything, so why not just get smaller?
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Kojo - 2013-05-10 Serebii Wrote:The episode of Japanese variety show, Pokémon Smash, due to air on May 19th is said to be a massive Pokémon X & Y special featuring Junichi Masuda with information promised. It is likely that this information will be revealed in CoroCoro, which is due for release in Japan on Wednesday, so we could have it any time between now and then Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Razmos - 2013-05-10 About damn time.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Colress - 2013-05-10 What do you think will be revealed? I think the names of some towns, a few new species, certain special characters, the rival, and Fennekin will not end up Fire/Fighting.
