Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Locked - 2013-11-14 ![]() Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. The characters' thick outlines are only available in the 3DS version. Only the external outline is thickened and won't appear in instances like when the hands or feet are overlapping. It's got a softness to it and is not just black. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Locked - 2013-11-15 ![]() Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. A new stage, Mario Galaxy!! The pull of gravity emanates from the center of the planet, so this will require using brand-new tactics. ![]() Sakurai Wrote:Here's what happens when you stand by the edges. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - byakugan - 2013-11-15 Inb4LozmasterrageatNintendo I don't know about you guys, but's just one stage and it looks totally awesome. Definitive proof that we need a new Galaxy game for the Wii U. Now some people argue that the Wii U graphics are bad for the current generation, I just wanted to say that regardless of that the 3DS graphics look awesome considering the lack of specs compared to the PSVita. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Lozmaster - 2013-11-15 byakugan Wrote:Inb4LozmasterrageatNintendo About what? You know I hate missing a chance to be angry! We've already sneakily seen the galaxy stage in a screenshot before this. It's nice to see it finally confirmed though.
Spoiler
Also samus projectile clearly curved in the gravity too, which is pretty cool. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Alloy - 2013-11-15 byakugan Wrote:Inb4LozmasterrageatNintendo Graphics are nothing in the end. If you are not having fun, you can call it a task, a chore, a display or whatever, but the core of a game is gameplay. That's why I can't still believe people move solely for the most potent machine. Me, as a usual PC gamer, if I had to pick a side, I'd pick the Wii U. It's the only console that offers something new from my computer. And even then I'm not that pumped (except for smash bros. That game is just BRILLIANT). There's a lot of nice stuff here. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Baklava - 2013-11-18 Chrom is probably going to be in. Either him or Lucina, really, and Lucina would just be Pichu the sequel. Lucina can just be an alternate costume for Marth, with different voices, since she's basically Marth for like 70% of Awakening. Though fire emblem lords have gotten boring since FE7 'cause I'm rather tired of all the sword users. Let's get an axe or a lance user in smash bros. already. ![]() RANDOM GLIMMER OF HOPE FOR ROBIN/AVATAR CHARACTER. SWITCH BETWEEN SO MANY BATTLE STYLES. Super Smash Bros. So hector can't even fill that niche. The better argument would be that no one knows who the f'uck hector is. Ike existing isn't much of an argument because of the point brought up earlier, the one about secondary fire emblem characters being switched out for someone else in following releases in the series. Ike existing isn't much of an argument because of the point brought up earlier, the one about secondary fire emblem characters being switched out for someone else in following releases in the series. It happened once. That's hardly proof of anything. Roy was a no-one from a game that never got an international release, whereas Marth was the first lord AND his game had a rerelease in the pipeline for later the same year, even internationally, which obviously Nintendo knew was going to happen. And Roy was a clone, several of which were wiped from brawl (Pichu, Roy, Young ->Toon is arguably a big change, Dr. Mario ). I'd say there's still a very good chance Ike is going to be in Smash Bros 4. For that matter, Ike shows up multiple times in awakenings dlc, often being called the strongest fire emblem lord, and he's the only fire emblem lord outside of marth to be mentioned in awakenings story mode (other than that games lords, obviously), in the very last bonus chapter where his descendent turns up wielding his sword, so intelligent systems at least has a hardon for him. Hector didn't even get a proper dlc character version. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2013-11-18 Lozmaster Wrote:It happened once. That's hardly proof of anything. And Roy was a clone, most of which were wiped from brawl. I'd say there's still a very good chance Ike is going to be in Smash Bros 4. I think ike and roy are both far more known than hector. I'm not arguing marth's popularity. Roy being a clone isn't really important either because it's probably the popularity (and whether they have a new game to get inspiration from or whatever) determines their inclusion, not their moveset. I think both roy and marth being in melee was to get more attention to fire emblem in the states though but that's just me. I also think there's a good chance of ike being in smash 4, but we still don't know what kind of limits they're setting for number of characters. Again, i'm not arguing ike's popularity at this point either. All 3 of them are essentially flagship characters for the series at this point...because of melee and brawl. Could be the same for hector...but i doubt it because it'd be more out of left field than villager was, even though everyone adopted him as a good character pretty much immediately. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Lozmaster - 2013-11-18 Roy is literally only known because of Smash Bros. No-one would care about him otherwise. It's quite telling, that despite his good reception in melee, they still didn't bother localising Roys game ever. The next game did eventually make it over, but he wasn't in it. (Or if he was, it was only a very small postgame scene). No doubt Roy and Marth being in smash bros did play a large part in making the series came west though. But weren't they originally going to be removed from the western versions until they were liked at focus testing? I seem to remember reading that somewhere and can't remember where. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2013-11-18 ShinkuDragon Wrote:we have 2 captain ganondorfs, 3 fox mc cloud 2 links First of all, there are no clones in brawl. Literally no one is cloned. His point didn't even have anything to do with the word, nor should a counter argument. Second of all, even in melee, clones are completely different characters. Trying to tell anyone who knows anything about the game that fox and falco, cpt falcon and ganon, or link and young link are the same in anything other than visual terms will only result in them laughing in your face. Clones are only justified as a useable term if you're arguing about the time, money available, or laziness of the developers to make melee higher quality. Super Smash Bros. His point didn't even have anything to do with the word, nor should a counter argument. A clone in the game, by people's standards, is basically a character with the same moveset as another's, but with slight statistic variations. Like Ganon being a slower and stronger Captain Falcon, or Toon Link being a faster and weaker Link. Aside from those 2 distinctions, the differences between them can be counted with your fingers. They are enough to have a different playstyle? Sure, but either way, it's a shared moveset. They are clones because the term used by people is defined by them. Of course people don't dash on waves in melee, so stop being literal about the term. And with that said, I don't mind having them in, as long as they share slots with other characters. Falco being a floaty Fox? sure, but why not make subtle differences between overalls Wario and Ware Wario? The only problem could be that it'd be harder to select your character if you can't see it straight away, though. Super Smash Bros. Almost every single move in their movesets are entirely different in effect and function. Uair dair and fair, usmash fmash and dsmash, dtilt, all of their specials...it's more than different play styles they're different characters entirely. No one in the community uses clone the way you just said because no one considers clone to be a legitimate term due to the way the metagame as evolved, only casuals do that. (ironically, both sets of players have used the term wavedashing since forever (by the way, the term probably came from the observation of characters dashing over the cloud "waves" that they create when they hit the floor so it's a pretty literal term)) So go f'uck yourself.
