How was your day? - Jon - 2013-07-29

All moved into the new house and my room is mostly all set up. The internet is finally in and working today, so I'm taking the rest of the day off from unpacking, I think. Smile

Made it back home safely, with my best friend waiting for me at the bus stop. However, I go to start my car and come to find out that some sort of belt snapped in my car due to not being in use for six weeks.

So I get it towed and it'll be fixed by today. Nearly $400 down the drain Sad but otherwise it would be physically impossible to drive it. Oh well.

Stephen comes Wednesday!

FrozNlite; any experience picking people up from O'hare airport? I've only been dropped off and take the bus home. I don't really know where I should go to pick Stephen up :I

KhainiWest; made my week <3

and the nuclear physicist I've been working for is going to some conference overseas to give a presentation on the stuff we've been working on and my name will be on it \o/
not sure if this is the same thing as the paper but I'm 99.9% sure my name will be on the actual legit scientific paper as an author (one of like 10 or 15 but still)

I don't really know how to get there because I've only ever been picked up at the airport, but there's a huge parking garage with walkways connected to the arrivals gate that you can park in before walking out to meet him at baggage claim. You could also just pick him up on the fly at arrivals, though it's often less stressful to just park (and if you time it well, you'll pay next to nothing to do so).

There are a million signs everywhere directing you so just follow anything that says "Arrivals" when you get there. You'll be great!

Okay, thanks! Yeah, I think I'll be parking to make it less stressful, especially if his flight gets delayed or something, I don't care to be driving in circles for who knows how long Biggrin

Finished writing my 117,199 words, 242 page book! Now for a week of editing and revising!

(No, you will most likely not see it in a bookstore, I'm a terrible writer but I had this idea boiling in my head for a year now and I wanted to write it down).

That was scary. I was walking to my Dad's car with my family after eating at a restaurant in Alameda and this truck pineappleing sped up once it got near us. If it weren't for my Dad and my brother, my sister would've been run over. I kind of feel bad about it since all I did was run away.

As opposed to doing what, stopping it with your bare hands? You did all you could.

My god, I hate this editing program so much. How is this the industry standard?

That's gotta be Ellen Page, though with a mad gross bangs situation. No idea on the film though.

Really good day~

1) I woke up this morning and checked my weight and I finally hit my goal of 170 lbs! For someone who is 6'2 and broad shoulders, I think this is a good weight (Way better than my old weight: 215 lbs).

2) I have confirmed my trip to Colorado and I will be flying out there in two weeks to visit some family, that'll be fun.

3) My new books came in from Amazon yesterday and I can finally read them.

If GeForce Experience pops up with "New optimal game settings have been applied." one more time, I'm going to flip 50 balls and throw a peach fit.

FINALLY can echo icephoenix21: WE FOUND A PLACE.

After roughly six weeks of searching we've signed a lease on a cozy true three bedroom in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. My room is TINY when compared to the average in the Midwest, though not at all terrible for NYC (and quite great for the price), at just over 5' x 10'. Can't wait to move everything in this weekend!

So, got a car, got a tattoo; all that's left is to get laid [down to bed] and my leave will have been a complete success.

>_>

This girl im talking to from OKCupid gave me her number yesterday! Big Grin

Today, spirits were high, with the resident assistants moving in tomorrow and Thursday D: but its going good! Training officially starts on Thursday!

My night became tense. I had to walk past the peach who used me. Twice. Never wanted to hit something more in my life than then, but I just ignored her and went on my way. :\

We recently had new, how do I put this, "Manager Change". Pretty much a lot of the supervisors have to be in this program where they switch around every section of TPS. Recently(my direct one) moved down to the unit I specifically want to get into, and has me on the next to go down there. They asked if I wanted to take her old position and I declined because the pay raise doesn't compensate the ridiculous work in this specific section for that position. I kind of kept the offer under wraps because I don't want people treating me like a supervisor, which they would if they knew I was offered.

So this other guy whos much much older, takes it and has a huge power trip the last two weeks. I just let it roll of my shoulders because he only bothers me over the most mundane crap (You didn't sign in the system exactly at 8am), where over and over again I had to get other people to vouch that I was doing other crap. So of course he gains this vendetta to "catch me". And boy did he think he had it. So a manager said that someone screwed up an adjustment, and he gave me like 18 pages of statements, lecturing me on how you can't transfer payments in that specific fashion (When you file a company PTE another company pays the taxes on the behalf, this is represented by a k1 statement, some dolt tried to transfer the payment from the company who was actually paying it and throw it on the end result. So the PTE gets an audit because they are claiming they made a payment, when the payment is clearly just been moved, by that's not how government works). I mean he's relishing in this, openly mocking me, talking down to me explaining like these f`ucking basics to a guy who's been here for like 3 years.

I'm completely blindsided by this, so I just simply say leave the crap there, I'll look into it, but I asked if he looked in the notes to see if I was told by someone higher up to move it, which I have done in the past. He told me he didn't check (which is ridiculous, that's the first thing you DO check). Anyway, about 10 minutes go by before I actually look at it,

-It doesn't have my initials
-It's not in my handwriting, which is even more retarded because the office joke is how crappy my writing is
-The note even says Dave

I walk over to him, don't even add any bitterness "This is for Deborah, it's in the notes, the signature, and the fact you can actually read the damn thing, I'm more curious what indicates this is to me". And no, you didn't misread that, the note/sig says dave but I told him deborah. So he walked all the way down the hall to give to her, without even double checking, only for her to give him a load of crap for harrassing her.

What a f`ucking two hours.

Day 2 of Fabulous News: secured a weekend position as a Sandro sales associate at Bloomingdale's Lexington Avenue flagship! There goes my free time...but yay money and #employeediscounts!

How was your day? - Tay - 2013-07-31

Day 2 of orientation, so fucking boring majority of my day has been spent guy watching. The only useful part so far is where I've come up with my schedule, and I have ~barely~ gotten something to mesh under the assumption I'm doing 40 hours a week for Michaels. Next four years of my life are gonna be jam packed ffffffffff.

Decided to pick up a Bass Guitar at a music store today. I know what I'm doing through the entire night! Big Grin
...Yea...no. The last person to blast something either loud or obnoxious ended up with a cop by their doorstep. My neighborhood is a bunch of control-freaks, I swear...I can't wait to move again..
Also, my friend izen attempted to maple-ize me that is actually relevant to my age. It's now my avatar! Odd. :\
