Ask a Pirate Thread - Arroz - 2008-11-24 you know none of these builds mean pomegranate unless you can actually get the god dam skills which won't be happening anytime soon, and unless slingers can do decent damage slightly better then a BM and have the right connections then you might have a chance at MW 20 after all the hype is down and after the box event. Even then the amount of hp washing it takes is crazy and if your not up for that you'll be taking a back seat for that nonsense. It's going to be really sad seeing Airstrike 30 being expensive for no reason too but I really shouldn't care I gots neotokyo to look forward to ^.~

Learn to mob better. You don't have the safety of Puppet like archers do, but dodging by jumping back and forth while attacking is fairly standard practice as a slinger. Actually playing through second job is giving me the hang of using Recoil and Wings to dodge while mobbing. There's just a ton of options here that take some practice and tech skill (IN MAPLE?!). If there's another reason for taking a ton of hits other than that, please enlighten me. It sounds easier than spamming Avenger as a Hermit to me. As far as I'm concerned, Fire Burner is just as worthless as Inferno. Especially since if you really really wanted to mob anything (fire-weak or otherwise) lategame, you'd just use Torpedo anyway. By the way, torpedo seemed to have much more horizontal range, and no where near as much vertical range when i used it. What business do you have using Fire Burner at Newties? Mob skills, short of fullscreen ultimates, are almost never useful at Newties. I use Inferno maybe once every 5 minutes, and Arrow Rain almost never at Newties. Use it at a place where mob skills actually have more relevance. Himes, Kentauri, and Wolf Spiders are good examples. If you can prove to me that Fire Burner sucks at those places, then you've convinced me not to max it. If you're going to tell me off like that, at least know what you're talking about. Inferno is an amazing skill to have from around level 90 to 120. No, you don't need it at Newties, but it's an amazing general purpose mob skill and you're missing out if you think it's useless in third job. I wince every time someone tells me Inferno is a worthless skill and they're level 160+. No pomegranate, you trained at Newties and then Skelegons to that level. After 120, you run out of places where you'll be mobbing often, and it falls back in usefulness. And after 140, your Hurricane mows everything in front of you down faster than any mob skill save on 5 or 6 targets, and there aren't any mobby places to train anyway, so Inferno becomes almost useless. In the case of FB, it is also a great mob skill until endgame, when you get Torpedo to replace it. The useful level ranges are different, and I have no idea what they are at the moment. In both cases, you're getting the skill for the sake of having an upper hand in mobbing power until endgame levels. I don't see the process of levelling from 120 to 150 or 160 as a trifling matter. If you don't get it, that's fine. You're not training with your mob skills. Edit @ below: yeah, someone called it flamesplitter and I got confused for a second. I agree it was one of the worser choices of maps to test it, but he wasn't using it for training. 2) He's in KMS. KMS doesn't have himes or wolf spiders. 3) Don't try to get in this discussion, lol.
