Agreed, just because this happened doesn't mean its a regular occurrence in Khaini, we hardly see GMs ever either. But I dont think GMs restrict themselves to one server, I think most have many characters in all servers. GMs also do customer service, and although that gets a bad rap too, I can't entirely blame them for semi-automating it because I know the community, and how bad hundreds of the tickets must be, I personally think 1 GM should be assigned to each server at minimum, and should have a set timeframe where they clear out popular maps (Wolf Spiders, Himes, Ghost Lanterns, Singapore Ghost ship, etc) if they just cleared out those channels every hour or two then we'd be fine. It's too bad people don't understand that being a GM (Gamemaster) is a full time/part time job, they think that they can become GMs just by playing the game. You need to be legal age, and have some background in the working world. Gamemasters arn't Computer Programmers. Gamemasters are the fucking bottom end of the rope in the whole deal with MMORPGS, they can only ban people, and relay bugs to the developers. The Developers of an MMORPG is where the real power is at. They never interact with the community directly because they don't have the time. Instead they have the GMs do it. I kind of wish people would complain correctly, instead of just throwing tantrums. Horntail Eats Hackers - Typhoon - 2009-01-30 Tonight before a HT run I was attending, we were all waiting in the Entrance when out of no where a GM appeared. He only appeared for a few seconds so only a few caught a glimpse of him. Once he disappeared, our seduce signed up and so did everyone else. However, when we tried to enter, it said someone was already inside :f6: This is the first sign of GM activity regarding horntail in Broa I think ... Now if only they could do this later at night when the actual hackers go inside.. Horntail Eats Hackers - Takebacker - 2009-01-30 SekushiKun Wrote:You need to learn to read posts that you quote. Why the hell do people say this like it's a blunt object? Sometimes it's you who needs to understand what you're saying before you bash someone like that. Just because it's not being addressed doesn't mean they don't know. It's their game for christ sake. They've shown us things we never even knew they had access to at times. What you should be complaining about is the long lasting and obvious tendency of nexon's CS to pay no attention to the community and prevent them from being informed about what's going on as far as glitches go. Hell, they even said in an interview that they're aware of them keeping us uninformed. Of course one could argue that announcing glitches invites abusers until it's fixed, which is a massive load of bullpomegranate in my opinion. That would actually be a good idea. But I wonder if they do that, ban some, but there's just so many that more and more remain How one can picture it: 19 wolf spider channels [excluding scania's 20th]. GMs go and check and ban them. In an hr or two, new hackers go and find these new empty WS spider maps and just continue from where the old one left off. It would be nice though to maybe get a better reporting system but I don't see a way that can happen without it being abused [referring to ones where certain players reports mean more than others] Horntail Eats Hackers - Deviant - 2009-01-31 Kaasoljoyyx Wrote:That would actually be a good idea. But I wonder if they do that, ban some, but there's just so many that more and more remain It'd take a while for hackers to level to the point where they can reach wolf spiders, eventually by making rounds every hour or two, the GMs will nix them all before they can get to the point where they'd be training there, and they wouldnt be able to keep up with the GMs. That or they'd keep coming back and GMs would keep banning, they'd get the idea soon enough. Horntail Eats Hackers - Harrisonized - 2009-01-31 I didn't read much of the prior posts, but what I think is a better solution is that the GMs start posting blue text again about who's been banned, like they did in the past. This not only restores confidence to legit players that the GMs do indeed exist, it also discourages people from making more nodelay characters because they know they'll eventually get banned. Right now people are just hacking their asses off because they think they can get away, and by publicizing bannings, people will be more careful about where they hack and be forced back to the unused maps instead of coming in and KSing. I used to love reading those messages and the long lists of banned hackers that followed. Horntail Eats Hackers - RoxStarz - 2009-01-31 Today In Mardia. This is my first image upload ![]()

Horntail Eats Hackers - Deviant - 2009-01-31 lol wow, maybe they really meant what they said about being more concerned about the community this year. Or maybe not, who knows, its funny that its happening in a few places now though =O Also TinyPic is a lot better for Forum image uploads =O Horntail Eats Hackers - EvenKeal - 2009-02-01 Kirov Wrote:What do you mean 'IF', I can't possibly see how you could say there are no GM's and that they dont ban people, that's just delusional. The hackers in Mardia hack HT late at night and smega about it. HT got hacked not to long ago. Yesterday someone smegad that they were going to drop HT books in fm in five minutes and that we were suppose to track them to see that they were actually hacking HT during that smega. Did that person get banned... of course not. Horntail Eats Hackers - Typhoon - 2009-02-01 EvenKeal Wrote:There are GM's around in Mardia as the earlier ss proved, but they must only work 9-5. Thank you. This is mainly why I loved seeing blue text back then. Anything that makes hackers think twice about hacking openly is welcome in my book. (Check FM every 30 mins) From there on, there are only hackers doing it for fun left. Remove the fun by banning the hackers. This is dumb. You wont get rid of meso selling sites by banning their FM botters. They are not complete idiots. it take me 15 min to get off of maple island. Just make a new char and spam in FM. They send their meso farmers out to collect, and every so often have then send mesos, and possibly items to an unrelated account(s). That account(s) store(s) the mesos, and maybe that one will give the players mesos after they pay, or maybe it will go through one more layer of additional characters. Who knows exactly. All banning the FM botters will do it make it less annoying in FM, and make the people who want to buy mesos less knowledgeable about prices, which isnt hard to find out about, just search "maplestory mesos" in goolge for christ sake. They need to look around, filter through reports, and try to catch large numbers of farmers, or regular hackers by banning them before they get the money sent over. If they have the data, they need to track who these char send money to, and try to determine a good way to get rid of most of the meso sellers inventory. If they do that, the sellers are forced to either raise costs, or fire their farmers, which they likely dont have many of anyway. So they raise costs, and as this continues, they end up, in most peoples eyes, being too risky to buy from, because they wont be that much cheaper then buying from nexon themselves. It's be nice if nexon could go one step further, and track who the meso sellers sell the mesos to, and temp ban them(meso buyers wouldnt deserve full ban, no matter what you say). The temp ban would dissuade them from ever buying mesos again. Oh, and they need to search in places people might not train, but has solid equip/meso drops, like the various Kents, and Vikings, Birks, etc. This is of course after taking care of more visable hackers, like himes and WS. This really requires more show of force. If this is to work, then the public had better start seeing a decline in h4x0rz. Otherwise they'll just get negative vibes and the people's confidence in law enforcement will be broken. When they did this back then, it didn't work out so well in Khaini. People eventually started b!tching about how GMs didn't do their jobs. Heck, they even relisted a few names in several notices. Not saying I blame them, but it's mostly a psychological game using the blue notices.
