Ahh, Aran, let's see...
Combat Step. There is something about gliding around using CS+jump correctly that is just so satisfying. Using its jump to fly across a map while smacking your enemies around with a polar bear is just great.
The gameplay is very smooth, especially now with Final Blow + Beyond Blade being back on top. The skill animations are definitely one of the reasons why I continue to play.
I mean, who doesn't want to obliterate a boss with a polar bear + phoenix + tiger + gigantic icy polearm combo?
The class has an obvious nature element, although it's not 100% reliant on it. You can see how nature helps strengthen you, but it also makes you remember Aran's own power, having some sort of connection with everything that helps you fight.
Also, not to mention the incredible mounts. I can safely say Ryko is the most elegant mount in the game.
We also dish out really huge numbers, thanks to our crazy skill percentages (Tempest at 790%, Beyond Blade at 640), making it really satisfying, especially to those who are less funded.
It's kind of hard to put my main feelings about the class into words, sadly, but I tried. xD

I began my Corsair a year after Pirates were released. One of the reasons was because I had always enjoyed the Old West (hence why I called her MorganEarp, since DocHolliday was taken by someone who hadn't played since the beta), and I thought this was the closest I could get. Another reason was because Gunslingers were the ones on top of the Henesys roof all the time. A bit silly, but I thought that was interesting. I wanted to try an attacking class as I had leveled my priest Didactylos to 80 and I wasn't satisfied with only getting decent EXP through party quests.
I stuck with my Corsair through the years because I liked the idea of training a Gunslinger through the "hell levels" and reaching the nirvana that was Outlaw and eventually Corsair. I would watch the videos of Outlaws wiping the floor with mobs from the Path of Time maps.
I sniped at Jr. Newties, being killed more times there than I have ever been in any situation involving my Corsair, just so I could get to a level where I could boss.
Now that I am a Corsair, I try to get better with my control (as I had when the boat had HP and you had to time your attacks), because there are situations where you have to flee for your life in fear of a massive attack, and so on and so forth.
There are many classes who get much higher ranges with similar funding or less funding, and there are classes whose damage output is not determined by a random roll of a die (literally) and other random factors. However, I continue to play my Corsair because when I pass people by, those people are amazed that there is a Corsair. I actually get complimented on my damage that I deal to mobs. I like Broadside and I like the gigantic 1800s hunting rifle that a Corsair pulls out for Headshot/Brain Scrambler. I like Ahoy Matey's summons taking abnormal status effects for me. I'd prefer a bit more stability with the damage with less reliance on luck, but I realize that is what Nexon intended with a class based on pirates. I will still play my Corsair because I know what to do with it, and I don't have to learn another class's quirks and skills. This is in spite of Nexon, which has, according to quite a few Corsairs, fornicated us time and again with updates that didn't fix problems with our class and gave us bugs with our skills - as well as creating a copycat class instead of updating our skills.

Xenon can fly!
I was initially drawn to Xenon due to its unique damage formula and I fell in love with the class once I saw Diagonal Chase and Beam Dance. This is also one of the few classes that was fun to level in every job; mostly because of the scooter from 2nd job.
- Diagonal chase is my favorite move in the game because of how easily it allows Xenon to traverse certain maps. You can even use it after jumping or twice in a row if you start it on the ground. This is definitely one of the better vertical mobility skills in the game. What other character can get from the middle of DI to the upper left platform as quickly as Xenon?
- Beam Dance combined Mille's movement with Tempest ability to hit on both sides and it seemed like an amazing skill for mobbing and bossing. Being able to kite Pierre during his tornado is really cool.
- Hypogram probably best summon in the game at mobbing and has been extremely useful at Gollux and on Commerci voyages. The interaction with Arrow Blaster and other Hypograms was interesting and I'd like to see it return.
- Pinpoint Salvo is fun to combine with Beam Dance (especially with Amaranth Generator), but I rarely have the skill hotkey'd. I'd like to see it become a Final Attack variant similar to Phantom's Cards or NW's Bats.
- Xenon can fly and your character probably can't
. Liberty Boosters have been useful for rebuffing at CRA since the bosses have very few attacks that can hit. Getting to the top of Warrior Grounds and a few other maps without a mount is nice too.Overall Xenon has been extremely fun, but I've stopped funding mine as I'm switching to NW.

Cannoneers could probably do it too, but i never DI. Should be as easy as cannon jump on floor -> FJ -> cannon jump again if too far away from rope but probably unnecessary if i remember the map correctly -> grab rope-> cannon jump again.

Back when you actually had to work a map, Hermit was my main pick.
Shurikens, Flash jump and Avenger used to lure and snipe mobs, it was glorious.
Now, I mainly still stick to my NL, perhaps mostly because of investment. Then again I don't play much anymore.
You know you are pretty much done with Maple when you find the farm more interesting than the actual game.

My first ever class was a Shadower, a strength one specifically. I really wanted to use the Cass, it just seemed much more bad ass to me, at the time. Eventually the cursayer came out and that was my goal for the longest time.
The aesthetics are what won it over for me specifically for that class, it had skills that were entertaining, added a little more depth with invincible frames, along with smokescreen/mesoguard adding further to the defense. It was a class you had to invest in, and the perks were a jack of all trades oriented class.
I took a break from it for about a year to really learn how to merch, made about 40b-50b and decided a fresh start. I transferred to khaini and decided to go with a dark knight, to get the biggest bang for my buck. I loved the hyper body being a necessary asset, I loved the spear designs, especially the zedbug, and I loved the power you felt during crusher.
I loved how you had a skill for almost every circumstance, that you had massive mob control, that majority of your 4th job skills evolve your previous skills, it felt like genuine character growth as it enhanced everything. I can't say I feel that way anymore, the new attack, I forgot what it's called, feels powerless, it's too quick and feels like im swatting rather than stabbing. I do like the spin twirl thing, that was a neat animation, but I'd trade it all back for the class I started with, or at least to have that as the feeling you get as playing it.

Seems I'm late to the party, my fellow Corsairs have already said most of what I'm about to say.
When Pirates first came out, I originally made a Brawler because I'd never played a long ranged class beforehand. I eventually got bored (sorry!) and decided to try out the Gunslinger class. I immediately fell in love with Double, Triple Shot and Recoil Shot. The fact that we had such a sexy boat waiting for us after level 120 was even more motivation to make my Sair my first character to push to 4th job. Flamethrower and Ice Splitter (I think that's what they were called?) were also amazingly fun skills to play around with.
Gotta say though, sniping at Newties for like 30 levels did get super boring..
On a side note, seeing all this STR Bandit rep makes me feel super nostalgic too.. my STR Bandit was the first character I ever made and the only other character I've ever mained <3. Of course, I originally made it by accident LOL, but when I saw how daggers like Serpent's Coil and Cursayer looked, I was set. Hell, even Bazlud looked awesome.

Always loved Cannoneers and I still do.
They're about as close as you can get in maple to a jack-of-all-trades, being decent at almost everything.
They're ranged, yet they feel like a melee class with stance, the relatively high HP and Counter Crush.

Everything just looks awesome in general.
Although this is fairly new, I absolutely love the new mobility we gained.
I previously played Battle Mage and Paladin, but for some reason I don't really like them anymore.
I always absolutely loved the various Blow skills and don't like BKB as much, while Paladins feel far less tanky after RED. Also, I don't like the current animations as much.

first of all we are called the ultimate weapon and that speaks for itself
now for the pros
a pomegranate load of different boosts in stats like stance and resistances which makes this class very much balanced
a semi long range and close range variety of attacks

it can be slow
% all stat is a pain to cube for
a class that pretty much is worthless if you are trying the unfunded way
but yea xenons are awesome

because of the mobillity, strong attacks, the great abillity to mob, the amazing damage absorbing shield, arrow illusion (which is GREAT for gollux ).
And let's not forget about the amazing passives and FREEZER! although he did lost his hypers...

Nowadays though
- Super tanky due to Blue Aura and Blood Drain. You pretty much never need potions for training, and it's relatively hard to die to bosses unless you screw up and get hit with like %hp dmg and cc like I do >.>
- Tons of avoid as well which is really nice.
- Your 170 Hyper is like the best one out there. Amazing range and damage.
- You can be kinda supportive as well due to Auras, which is pretty nice.

- Lots of free crit.
- Reapers are the best minions you could ever have.
- You have both a grab and a rush skill.
I definitely agree with your points here. I chose to make a battlemage when they first came out because I also like their skills and also because they were the first (and still are) the only magician class in the game that doesn't have magic guard to rely on (and by extension has high HP).
Though I still do wish that they hadn't scrapped that one BaM revamp that a lot of people went apepomegranate over. I really liked the concept with the chain blow skills and I hope they bring that back to BaMs sometime in the future. That said, I also wish they could somehow make reapers more useful (or able to be summoned at all, rather) at bosses. Lastly 1 bad thing that I'm surprised they haven't apparently 'fixed' yet is AURA CASTING TIME. It's SO annoying when you happen to die and it takes 500000 years to recast auras (and last time I could use them, buff freezers don't help with this AT ALL since auras disappear after being dead for more than 1 second basically...) this is especially apparent at magnus.
Though, I swear BaMs are among the most tweaked class in the game. The majority of the time that multiple classes gets tweaked, BaMs seem to always also be on the list. Furthermore I don't recall us ever being nerfed during these skill rebalancings.

Pros:
+Dont have to pot. Ever.
+More health than any human being could ever want. And even more than that.
+Secret OP. Everyone else is distracted by DrK and Paladin while DA gets buffed every single patch despite already being really good at bossing.
+Survivability literally coming out of every orifice. Easy to cap resistance, butt loads of armor, Paladins are mad jelly.
+Everyone else thinks we are an unoriginal cash-in class. Good, keeps the filthy peasants away.
+Have long hair and purple everywhere, so we look edgy and cool like Dracula.
+Free weapon defense ignore plus a defense reducing debuff that brings all the boys to the yard.
+Stupid ricocheting shield thing that bounces around like some edgy emo beach ball.
+Free passive stats and boatloads of free stat buffs that increase survivability AND damage. Paladins still mad jelly.
+Stylin' on haters with any gear you want because you dont give two flying turds about anything other than HP.
+Desperado is literally the coolest looking weapon in the game. Other warriors are 'mirin hardcore and get erections just by being around you.
+Demon Slayers mad and hatin' 24/7. Hate on bros, hate on.
Negatives
-Purple, emo, and edgy
-Only cares about HP and W. Atk. Other classes have all% and mainstat% for armor, DA only have HP. Harder to cube your own gear.
-Very few pieces of gear have HP or %HP on them, so you can wear rags while training at low levels and you literally won't notice a difference.
-No one plays this stupid purple edgy class so no pre-scrolled gear to buy.
-Increased suicide rates in DA players due to depression stemming from over-exposure to purple and the fact that gearing your character is like pulling your own teeth out.
-Good HP scrolls for armor are literally rarer than unicorns.
-Why does this class have Maple Warrior?
-Hipsters play my class because no one else does.
-Dangerously purple.
