What Do You Guys Work As? - Nikkey - 2011-09-18
I am a full time student - comp.sci. (though it's really computer engineering), journalist in a magazine about comp.sci., teaching assistant at my university, web developer for my line union, server manager/web developer for a national student association, and project leader for a startup.
The project leader thing means I have to find people we should hire, assign them to the tasks we think they are good at and at the same time ensure they deliver quality work, hold meetings and program stuff myself.
I don't understand how the hell I manage to do it all - maybe I'm just efficient at spending time on the right stuff, even though I don't think I am.

Currently an extremely busy student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying History, and will be declaring Political Science as my second major very soon since I'm very, very close to being a junior credit-wise, even though I'm a freshman :f6:.
Aka, I'm going to double major in History and Political Science. My emphasis will be focused solely on United States history and politics. On top of that, I also have an interest in European history.
Though I'm looking forward to taking a job on campus next semester because I need to earn some money for my own use + help my parents pay for college (even if its contributing a few hundred dollars, at least I helped out).

Graduated with 2 degrees, 1 in graphic design and 1 in LPN. I just finished school (in December 2010) for Medical Assisting, then I found out I wasn't able to work due to health issues. During the last part of school (around Sept 2010), I got accepted into Nursing school and was planning to attend when I graduated, but couldn't. So yea, right now I'm not working, but have a sh*t ton of degrees to work with and 1 more in the future.

A Housekeeper, AKA Janitor at a retirement home.
My tasks are to take the garbage out of the kitchen, laundry, workshop, activities, apartment, as well as the soiled room. Bathrooms are my second task as I use paper towels to clean the doorknobs, light switches, sinks (including faucets), and toilets. I take the garbage out of the bathrooms and mop the floors. And my last task is to clean the dining rooms using a broom to clean the crumbs out, and a mop to sweep the floor so it's wet. I take the garbage out too whenever I see them.
My optional tasks are the wheelchair washing and rug washing. I use the wheelchair washer in order to wash wheelchairs, and I use the washing thing (Whatever that is) to wash the rugs.
It took me 16 months to finally get a job after I retire from a building where I do papers and stuff. I work in the afternoon until night time (1 PM to 9:30 PM CST), and the schedules are random and not static unlike the previous 2 jobs I worked (for example: I have to work Monday on one week, but don't have to work Monday on another week).

Full-time junior at the University of Wisconsin - Madison double majoring in Medical Microbiology & Immunology and English - Creative Writing. Trying to do Honors in English, though my grades these next two years must be absolutely stellar for that to happen. Which it will, just have the pressure in the back of my mind.
I'm also the Media Chair on the Executive Board of the College Democrats of Madison (aka I run our website), my second year in the position. I'm also the Men's Style Consultant for MODA Magazine, the brand-new student-run for students fashion + lifestyle magazine for UW-Madison. And finally I'm also a Sales Consultant at Swarovski (re: luxury retail bitch). My life is constantly packed, speeding ahead in the fast lane, which is exactly how I like it, though every now and then things fluctuate at the same time and it can get omfgbbqcrazy.
Current life goal is to graduate in May 2013 and go to Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism for two years and get both M.S. and M.A.'s in Journalism before starting my career as a Fashion Journalist. That being said, aspects of life plans can and do always change, so the base reality of my future life is that it will be entrenched in the fashion world.

I went to college for a Mechanical Engineering degree, but started failing heavily my 3rd year. I switched majors to Computer Information Systems and finished that bachelors degree off in 3.5 years (in 2005).
The only job i've had since then is my current one. I'm a certified database developer/designer with a program called Filemaker. Getting tired of it so i'm currently seeking a new job in the IT field, but I have limited knowledge and zero 'job' experience with such things. Will just have to throw my resumé at every entry level position i can find.

I'm an engineering co-op at a plant that makes drum brakes for commercial vehicle systems. The co-op program at my school rotates between school and work each semester so it keeps everything fresh for me. As a co-op I work with various engineering applications that range from, time studies, managing data in Excel, updating plant layouts in AutoCad, modeling a part in Alibre, and pretty much anything else people want me to do. The job pays extremely well and I love my job very much. It just sucks that I'm away from my friends for long amounts of time, but I think this experience will be worth it in the end.

FrozenNight. What the pineapple are you going to do in fashion. Obviously you're smart and have a medicine major and could easily get a good stable well paid job. When I hear fashion and journalism I think of-no. I know that it's a bullshit field, that it's unstable, and has nothing to do with intelligence.
Fashion??? Are you serious??? I could fucking go to JC Penny and paint a butterfly on a shirt and randomly luckily make more money in a fashion career then something your years of school could do. What the pineapple.

I graduated with my bachelors of science in biology in 2009. I am currently enrolled in medical school, but I am on a medical leave of absence due to problems with anxiety and depression. Currently looking for a job to fill the time until I go back. Can't wait to go back, I enjoy studying over working and looking for a job :<

I have a stupid question. How come your Major is the Medical one first and then the Journalism if you want to be a journalist? Do you ever want to work in the Medical field?

I'm going to assume that the medical is a backup plan in case the journalism thing doesn't work out. Considering that Microbology is an up and coming field, and there's going to be a LOT of jobs for it in the near future it's a good idea.

Currently a sophomore biomedical engineering major enrolled at Texas A&M University. There are five different branches to this, but I don't really know what direction I wanna go with it yet. Enrolled in a psychology class now that has me intrigued about the brain, so I might go that route.
