Far as i know, japanese judicial system is fucked up. Last i heard it was "guilty till proven innocent" instead of our much more logical "innocent till proven guilty".

Knowing gaming is pretty much the entirety of japans culture, i'm not that surprised. Only thing i lol'd at was the serious use of "killing an avatar". xD

You can't complain to Maple Story admins about this because account sharing is against the ToS. Him giving her his info in the first place is grounds to have the character banned. Not that they actively enforce this rule, but it gives them a good defense against this kind of plea. No way Nexon gives him back his character.

What I found most ridiculous was she was taken and detained 620 miles from her home.

Maplestory in the news - WillDaSnail - 2008-10-24

This just has "epic fail" written on it throughout.

Wow, I'd say that is just too far. Losing only 5% and getting arrested for that? Ridiculous........

And what was the point of posting that, and, as an effect, bumping this thread?

the point was ummm well i found it funny that they called it a murder o.0. + the fact that bbc Ctrl + v the entire news article and just changing the title seemed even funnier o.0.

They didn't copy it. It's worded much differently, and it has additional information. Hurray for advertising of Maplestory.

My English teacher saw this in my last period class and shared it with us. I was the only person who's heard of it. Everyone else thought the arrest was stupid too...
