Another UA Nightlord Question(s) - Stereo - 2011-04-03

Assassins have FJ and decent avoid to stop them falling off platforms, it was never any trouble on my NL to stay on platforms. I got good enough KB with Avenger and L7... but whatever.

Uh.... I think the very nature of maple, would lead one to jump onto the edge of a platform, befor they hit the middle... Yes certain maps are different, but the general physics of the game says: "You usually jump onto the edge of a platform".

It was the same in Mario 1 dude..... Mario can only jump so far...

I don't know about NLs, but my shadower FJs onto most platforms, and I'm typically not close enough to the edge to fall off after getting KBed. Like Stereo said, you also have avoid and (eventually) Shadow Shifter to make that not a problem.

Edit 2.... I misspelled.

In all the places I've trained from Vikings to Skeles to Temple of Time to LHC, I've never had a problem jumping onto platforms (and staying on them). With Haste and Flash Jump, we already have more aerial mobility than most non-thief classes out there. I don't know what you're trying to justify with landing on bare edges, but if consider that something to "back up" Vampire's "usefulness" like you mentioned in an earlier post, Avenger, Lucky 7, Triple Throw, Ninja Storm, and even Drain does job done if you need to Knockback something.

ShanghaiDizzy
Stop giving me a hard time..... I KNOW back in the old days.... getting knocked off a platform meant something.
It still does...... it's annoying...... I guess when you destroy everything in yer path... you lose sight of that...

I've played a hermit ever since 2006 and never faced platform problems like you do. Even in old Maple, platforms were wide and spaceful. Almost all areas that were trainable were spacious to not need to edge hog. New Maple, the maps are even more spacious.

Yer just denying the truth man.

You must rock at super smash brothers, because it would literally be impossible to kill you, because 2 dimensional objects, no longer have sides.... There is no left or right, every line now, only has a middle.

You guys are literally arguing with geometry itself.

_0________ <---- thats me when I hop on a platform.

______0______ <----- that's you... Right in the middle, beyond linear motion

The legendary sin whose has literally NEVER been knocked off a platform.

Problem is..... Here's you

___&___0 * * *____

thats you throwing avengers and the ampersand is a monster yer not hitting.

_0 * * * * * * *_

thats me hitting every monster on my platform... Because in my world... Lines have a left and a right... I stay on the left, killing everything to my right.

While you may not ever have to deal with getting knocked off like I do, you also apparently only kill half as many monsters as I do. unless..... you turn around......

Checkmate my friend. You can consider this yer first internet loss.

And I am PROUD to be the dexless UA sin to hand it to you.

So stay on yer platform buddy, I live on the edge.

Ignoring the distasteful ASCII diagram, you've never heard of the concept called mobbing, have you?

Furthermore, it looks like you've twisted what I mean about jumping onto platforms and staying on them. Not once have I said anything about being in the middle of a platform. There's more than enough space on each platform to combat mobs without needing to stay at the very edge, especially since the minimum attack distance has been eliminated. The only reason why I can imagine you have so much difficulty staying on a platform is because you cannot determine how far enemy damage knockback takes you or you jump attack needlessly and get hit midair causing you fall off the edge easily. Learn to play Maple. It's not hard.

I agree now that I have 1 in flash jump, it is very easy to get in the middle.

I'd like to try to steer this thread back to it's topic, and thank you for yer patience:

Anyway, some pro-looking guy I was talking to about how to get enough dex for my lvl 80 claw (120 dex infact);

Said that Maple Warrior 30 would help. Uh... I think MW30 like raises all base stats by a certain percentage, so...
Could I get a pro to MW me, to raise my dex up enough to put on the lvl 80 claw, which would then complete the set, meaning
I wouldn't need MW any longer to equip the set, because again the whole set bonus adds +10 to all stats?

In short can you use maple warrior to equip stuff you shouldn't be able to?

NeoVicious Wrote:In short can you use maple warrior to equip stuff you shouldn't be able to?

Sure, but it only works on your base DEX. If that is 4 you are out of luk (lolpunlol).

Another UA Nightlord Question(s) - NeoVicious - 2011-04-05

GREAT!

Nice pun btw...

Uh okay well here's another question that may be able to get my dex up, I think I read on spawdow (or somewhere), that soon in GMS they are releasing a scroll which will make the first 8 enhances work 100% on an item, considering that all of the sets items
have +x all stats, I'm thinking that maybe scrolling most of the set for as much dex as I can get, and then enhancing each item 8 times, may just get me to where I need to be.

Anyway has anyone else heard of these Enhance-Helping scrolls?

Another UA Nightlord Question(s) - ShanghaiDizzy - 2011-04-05

Those are called Protect Shields and they cost a fortune especially considering the enhance success percent goes down upon every success. It's not worth spending hundreds of dollars just to get enough DEX to equip your gear. Furthermore, Protect Shields aren't going to come out until post-Chaos, which means somewhere around August at the latest. They also don't make enhances work 100%, they only protect the item from being destroyed if the scroll fails.

Instead of taking advantage of the set items that will become obsolete once you're past level 120, you need to consider these options:

1. Raise your base DEX to 23. Since LUK will cap at 999 for you, you'll be putting the remaining points into DEX anyway. Having 19 less LUK before you're 200 won't make a difference when you can't wear anything strong.
2. Invest in potential equips with +All Stats: % potential. That way, you can have more DEX alongside more LUK at the same time. You still won't be as strong if you were to raise your base DEX and go for pure LUK: % potential equips, but at your current position, you have no choice.
3. Glitch equip your gear. Your friend already explained to you about how to make the level 80 weapon equip itself. This is no different.

Or you can just forget about equipping the level 80 claw, get to 110, get a Horntail Pendant and that should fix a lot of problems. Honestly, this stuff should have been planned out ahead of time if you wanted to go Dexless.

A hortail Pendant is on the table, if I can sell a lvl 15 ring II for like 45 mil in windia... Or more.

Uh... I'm not too worried about waiting till lvl 110, but yer right about adding 23 dex, in the end I'll have my precious 2 more luck at lvl 200.
