That's a mistake Square will have learned from though. Final Fantasy XIII bombed because of that one move and they have to carry on with it in XIII-2. They have to sacrifice a lot to make games like that multi-platform and it's not a choice they're like to make again.

If you're saying "bombed" as not as being well accepted as other Final Fantasy games, I don't think you can blame that on the Xbox. If anything, it didn't "bomb" as bad because of the Xbox in the sense that it gave it more sales. As for the sacrifices, I fail to see how multi-platform development is at all at deterring as you make it sound. Sure there are sacrifices but, there are also plenty of gains.

I'm saying it "bombed" because it could've been better if they hadn't suddenly switched to "make it run on XBOX" mode which caused them to sacrifice a lot both in terms of manpower because they had to redevelop a lot of it so it would be compatible with the XBOX as well as removing actual pieces of the game (two areas and a city were supposedly removed after it went to the XBOX)

It's undeniable that when you make a sudden change like that the product is going to suffer, and suffer it did. XIII would've been a much different game if it had just been released on the PS3 and it probably would've been better for that. I would say the same thing if it was initially in development for the XBOX, too. At the core it has nothing to do with the systems but the poor choices of the developers to split their attention, but in making the decision system limitations played a big role in what made and didn't make the cut.
