Jamie_Kurosawa is one of the saner people here with a lot of common sense. I dont know why people attack her all the time.

I havent played much since the ring event ended...but I'd still be annoyed if they did another roll back.

I don't think anything will be done about this to be honest. At least, not a rollback.

Last time it was a MESO exploit and everyone in the FM was affected, people got items for fake mesos and people who sold items sold them ridiculously overpriced. Non hackers were affected big time.

But now, hackers can just sell WS's a lot cheaper. Which is a lot like the 50% Pink Scroll "exploit," which wasn't a hack, but was sure as hell a glitch. And Nexon didn't do squat about it.

So yeah, don't worry much.

Because of commentary like below. She's 50/50 voice of reason, voice of wth are you on once she starts feeling like she has attention, and unlike a truly reasonable person she can't actually be reasoned with because she refuses to evaluate whether or not the stance she's taken may be correct or fully informed and won't incorporate new facts into her opinions.

Jamie_Kurosawa Wrote:I really think if we didn't have sites like GK... we wouldn't have these problems as bad as they are. Wish entities like Interpol would get off their ass and do something useful for a change instead of wonder where they'll get their next donut, danish, strudel, or kung-pow chicken from.

Because heaven's know Interpol has nothing better to do than stop cheating in online games that's explicitly made possible by the bad programming of the client.
Exactly which of their key focuses do you think cheating a video game falls under?

Public safety? terrorism? organized crime? crimes against humanity? environmental crime? genocide? war crimes? piracy? illicit drug production? drug trafficking? weapons smuggling? human trafficking? money laundering? child pornography? white-collar crime? I'm pretty sure all of those are more important than stopping the neighbors ten year old from vaccing an MMO.

This was hands down your most ridiculous assertion ever. We know that this is entirely Nexon's fault, and Nexon's issue. They're the only ones who can fix it, they're the only ones that need to fix it and you're clearly aware of this based on your repetition of the same fixes we've all been telling Nexon they need for 5+ years now.

There's enough FUD here already, let's stop with the hyperbole and grand-standing, everyone.

This could be easily faked.

I wouldn't put too much trust into the producer of this video.

Also, since I haven't seen an abundance of white scrolls on any of my FM mules (Mardia (Home), Windia, Khaini, Scania) I would say this isn't real.

I think some of us were expecting it T_T (Possible Xmas hill exploit + rollback) - SaptaZapta - 2010-12-26

Question comes down to whether this guy is a simple vaccer, in which case the total number of white scrolls from the event is still governed by the number of gold flakes that drop. It's very frustrating that all the scrolls are in the hands of a few assholes instead of scattered among the populace, but it's not a situation calling for drastic action.

However, if this guy has found an additional exploit that allows him to generate white (and chaos) scrolls much faster than gold flake drops allow, then it is a problem. Will Nexon claim they can trace all these duped scrolls (and equipment made with them?), and somehow punish only the guilty? (And we know that when Nexon does that, they usually punish the innocent and leave the guilty with all their illicit gains intact). Will they decide to just make sure no bad scrolls or illegal gear remain by rolling back? Or will they just stop the event early and let the market deal with the overabundance already present in its own way?
Nobody knows Nexon's mind.

I'm pretty sure that this is not part of any police force's job. They are suppose to be preventing the more violent crimes and investigating/arresting based on the warrents they have. When it comes to legal action, its up to nexon to go to the courts and sue the hacking sites for the damages the hackers have caused to the game and breaking the ToS (assuming the courts find the ToS to be perfectly legal).

I came into the tree to find people said "aw damn he glitched before us" and apparently only I could pick up the crystals. Completely random finding.

It's the way the loot is set up. People who enter the map later, before the items drop, have priority over others. Don't ask me why.

I'm kinda hoping for this too T_T Most of the time when hackers show off an exploit, they actuallly show the hacking part. This guy could just be a duper or something from before and trying to cause fear and panic into people with this video.

I also agree that this might not cause a rollback, because a rollback is the last option nexon uses. This is more similar to the chaos event where they just hellbanned a bunch of people. It isn't like the meso exploit glitch (like the person way above said) where people everywhere were getting affected, but rather only people who "by chance or purposely come in contact" with the scrolls are being affected.

It's not hard to client side edit your inventory to show stuff you haven't actually got, too.

I dont really mind if they roll back. Nothing to lose and i get my 60k nx back to spend again (and have some left over because i know not to spend money on suprise boxes <__<)

Hopefully nexon dont repeat an event like this in the future.

Because them having done this over and over surely couldn't be a precedent for future failures.

That's what I was going for. I doubt he would have those in his inv without selling any off from the duping times several months ago.

I laughed at this video. I give this dude points for making his video enjoyable to watch while showing people his exploit at the same time.

"u hacker"

"snow thief know u dont hac, thats a lot of shyt"

"STFU I'm making a video."

All I could possibly say on this matter.

I don't get why they just shut down all these hacking sites.. I mean its a game where you fight cartoon monsters and play around with skills, If there were less hackers it would be a much more beautiful-er game.

They can't. Like rats, if you kill one three more pop up in it's place.

And yet if the client didn't control the reality the 'hacking' wouldn't be possible.

You guys, there was an exploit with white scrolls the first day the Christmas hill content was released. I saw it in action by my next door neighbor and posted about it on a few of the maple sites warning people about possible hellbans/rollbacks.

The exploit was being circulated extremely privately, and these people have literally tens of thousands of white scrolls and chaos scrolls now spread across multiple characters accessed by multiple IPs. All I can say is be careful how you merch.

I haven't played since Christmas Hill just for the sake of saving myself from any possible RB/HB.
