What Religion Are You? - AAR - 2010-08-19

@ImagineAll

Valid point. I suppose up to now I've considered myself an atheist somewhat out of hostility, not only towards my upbringing, but also due to the negative image atheists seem to have.

Only that's exactly the "I'm going to be X just because you don't like it" kind of immature mentality I detest..

If I could change my vote, it'd be to "No Religion." Or maybe "Other." I pray to Joe Pesci, because he gets pomegranate DONE.

Raised Jewish. The food is still worthwhile, at least.

Answered with "No Religion" because I'm a sissy, fence-sitting atheist. Some days I just want to exclaim, "SCIENCE IS MY GOD!" from the rooftops. Most days I just don't care because whether or not I believe in a higher power is irrelevant to how I go about my daily life. And then there are a few days where I'm somewhere without much light pollution and I stare at the stars a little too long, get a little too introspective, think to myself "damn," and then swing toward non-interventionist deism for a while.

One day I'd love to have a thread where everyone gets a post to fully explain everything they think about god and religion including any and all pros, cons, bashing, babblings, anecdotes, and ideas they may have on the subject. No one would be allowed to make a response to another person's post in any way. They could just say their personal two-bits. I realize this is impossible on the internet, but it would be fun for me to contribute.

By all means. Have at it. I'm curious as to what you'd have to say, whether in PMs or otherwise (:

P.S. I don't necessarily believe that, but I felt it made an adequate coubterpoint to his post.

I'm interested in Buddhism for some reason, but mostly agnostic.

Somehow, I feel like I've posted in one of these threads years ago on this forum, but I'm Christian. Not much more to say, other than that I try my best to do everything it teaches.

Has to be a bigger warning that says "PUBLIC POLL"...second time i fucked up. I tend to go with the most popular religion in the country and quite frankly I have no idea what religion this country practice so I'm going with Christianity. Might switch to Islam if they start beating us.

AND IN AMERICA? Pretty sure no religion wins over another here, cept for the eastern religions which aren't as popular, so you would have to choose more than one religion to pick the most popular religion IN AMERICA.

Or you could just say you're Catholic, Catholics rule the world after all.

What Religion Are You? - Piggy 2.0 - 2010-08-20

I dunno. Put it down as christian because I grew up in a church going family. Black church takes FOORRREVERRR.

A pool of people =/= everyone IN AMERICA.

What Religion Are You? - Stereo - 2010-08-20

Voted 'no religion'. "Is there a God?" is better left a question without an answer, because to answer it justifies the question. I believe that any rational person can accept that they don't know the answer to this question, because it's transcends rationality.

Hinduism is the most safe religion cause you pray to ALL the gods. hahahahahahaha, get it get it ???

Statistics says you are wrong. A group of 3000 or so random individuals can generalize the USA fairly accurately. (95% Confidence Interval?)

A quick Google Search found this neat table. Mostly Christian, a growing number of people who don't affiliate themselves with religion but aren't Atheist, and a rather small group of people who practice other religions like Islam.

Where did you get the idea that Christians weren't a huge majority in the USA?

What Religion Are You? - holyforest - 2010-08-21

Wow, there's no Jewish people on SP...
