I've been adjusting services and tinkering with this and that in the css.

I think disabling the stuff that didn't exist but was trying to load on your profile probably made your biggest boost.

There are five levels of headers in stock HTML, and none of them are quite what Fiel just posted an example, so what's a header to you?

cant speak for froz, but i view headers as a way to draw attention to a certain aspect of your post due to its importance, or dividing up a multiple layered topic/blog. plus it just adds an air of je ne sais quoi to guides.

the reason why it's called a [header] is because that's what basil BBCode calls it, not because it has any reference to HTML.

I figured as much, that's why I was looking for a functional description.
I assume the key reason we've never had similar was over-usability and desire to avoid a thousand little one-off formatting tags?

Of all the formatting tags out there we all know and love on various sites, that's honestly the only one we don't have here on SP that would be nice. It's not like we CAN'T use colors, bold, underline, etc., like mentioned above, but a nice block of color helps keep long posts organized. Just a suggestion, in the end.

Honestly, it will just be annoying and people will complain about you using it in the end. I see no real value in making one.
