I was slowly toughening up i thought, getting rid of all those insecurties and questions that came with me to johto. This was it, I felt like it was time for me to become someone new.

I tapped Eclairs back to give her the sign that we should get moving again. I had stopped using her in battle because i was scared for her safety, but i should have remembered the tough cookie she was.

She started moving again and as we go closer to the gate we saw hordes of Zombies slowly creeping towards us. 'Nide, was so scared she crept into my shirt to hide. With no hesitation and elegance, Iron bolted down onto them, used called up a whirlwind, got all of the revenants in the air, then in a flash, she zoomed through the whirlwind. The vortex of wind's core was severed and it faded away. All of a sudden, i started to see the zombie's lower halves fall to the floor, with their top halves being pushed miles right as they fell down.
''Ska, Skarmorryyyy!'
Skipping through the hordes of zombie limbs and heads, i realized that Skarmory had created an air current so strong that when the other halves fell down, they were projected away.
''Good job Skarm''
The Keystone started to shake, Cyanide got scared,started to scream, and inadvertently released toxins onto my chest.
''NIDDDOOOO''
''Its okay,Nide,*cough* it happens when we eliminated zombies*cough*, dont get scared like this anymore, ill keep you safe, I'll be alright*Cough''
''Nidorannnn'' she cried out with guilt.
I started to cough badly but signaled the metal plated Bird to open the door. She then flapped her wings swiflty to open the Gates door.

When we got to Ecruteak, we looked around and saw an army of Zombies. I had to resort to plan B.

''Luxrrr, luxxx,'', she said in a worried tone as the red light returned her to her storage unit.

I took Vappy out of his ball and skarm communicated with him.

Me and 'Nide hid near the gate. and I watched the events unfold. I watched the whirlwinds converge, then a bolt of thunder beam down the wind vortex, Charring all the zombies. Skarmory and Vappy came back to me. I returned my water pokemon to his ball and pointed the top of the Bell tower. I hopped on Skarms back and we flew. As we got closer to the charred zombie corpses the Odd keystone started to get agitated once more.

"Probably. It's not like we can reach the Indigo Plateau."

"Cianwood is on the way to Hoenn right? Same situation as Cinnabar I guess..."
"Azelea is protected by the Ilex Forest and Union Cave."
"Blackthorn should be fine. The only ways to reach it is trough the Ice Patch and Dark Cave, or going uphill from New Bark. That and they have Dragons Den and a lot of strong trainers there. No idea on how to get there without running into trouble though."
"Olivine, Ecruteak, Goldenrod, Violet, Cherrygrove and New Bark aren't blocked off by anything. Mt. Mortar does have a patch that goes right to Mahogany."

After everyone else had said where they we're going to go, Dan, whose Trainer Rank was raised to the same level as that of a member of the Elite 4 (Top Trainer at the Trainer Tower wasn't that much of an important job), was asked where he would go.

"Why, the zombie outbreak started there. Sure, they could've abandonned the place after being done with it, but they also could've made it their, err, capital city?"
"I want to know how all this started, what Silph was working on, and who was behind that attack, because they killed a lot of people an Pokémon. Oh, and they ruined my vacation."
"So you're going to Vermillion?"
"I'm going to Chrono Island first, I have a Pokémon there I need to have with me when I go to Saffron. I guess I'll go with the Seagallop, then I can be in Vermillion in 18 hours from now."

I didn't like being rough but i guessed that this was the right situation to give her some tough love. Iron couldn't help but try to go as fast as she could to the top of the bell tower without making me lose my already weak grip to her wing. I started to see the autumn colored leaves on the trees, looked up and saw the tower. Skarmory started to fly upwards vertically and i could barely hold on. when we got to the top. Skarmory gracefully landed on the top but didn't let me walk down the steps. She held me on her back till we were at the ninth floor. she walked down the last two steps and i looked around for anybody, but the room was so eerily dark i could barely see.''SKARRRRRMMM'' she screamed out, the high pitched noise felt like it echoed through the whole tower.

I started to cough up blood, my vision started to get blurry, and I removed my glasses.

The kid ran up the stairs, and i wondered where the hell he was going. I presumed he was bailing on me and letting die. i laid there on the floor for what seemed to me like hours, coughing up blood and losing the feeling in my extremities, only seeing the blurry faces of guilty 'Nide and worrying Iron. Then, came the vivacious steps of the little kid coming down the stairs.

I could see his foggy sihlouette stand ontop of my face, i could see him holding something that glowed in his hands.
''Please legendary Ho-oH, grant me this wish and heal this sick man''
He dropped the feather and it elegantly fell onto my face. My eyes started to get filled with the colors of the rainbow,but they did not blind me, instead allowed me to see. I felt a pulse rush through all of my body, i regained the ability to move. The rainbow color faded and i started to see clearly again. I picked up my glasses and put them on. I could see the boys face light up with relief.

[COLOR="Green"]Arcanine opened its mouth wide, and a large pillar of flames shot out. Brox swiftly rolled to the right, narrowly avoiding the flames. He plucked a pokeball from his belt, and in one motion, stood up and tossed it. "Pinsir!" The bug pokemon appeared and stamped its foot on the ground. It stared directly at the Arcanine, liking the thought a good fight.
"Again!" Gary called to Arcanine, who blasted out another Flamethrower with gusto. Pinsir moved quickly, not even needing Brox's suggestions to move out of the way. Pinsir had been in plenty of battles in his career, and knew how to handle himself. Rarely did he ever need Brox's help, let alone listen to his ideas.
"Let's get this over quickly Pinsir," Brox said to the star of his team. More Flamethrowers shot around, and Pinsir deftly evaded every one, striking back with Stone Edges when time allowed.
Gary became angry. "Come on Arcanine, get rid of these two before they get us! Flare Blitz!" Arcanine lit up in flames and rushed towards Brox and Pinsir. Pinsir ducked underneath Arcanine as he leapt forward, but Brox wasn't as swift. In his attempt to avoid the attack, the flames on Arcanine's body caught his back. He quickly grabbed his now flaming backpack and threw it to the ground, to avoid burning himself. Brox looked at Gary as he smiled, pleased with the strength of his pokemon. Brox's body froze. "Get out of the way!" Brox shouted to the gym leader.
"Wha...?" Gary said, turning around. Behind him was a Nidoking, its eyes glazed with the virus. Gary began moving backwards, and tripped over the bat he had been weilding. Gary was on the ground, staring up into the face of the undead Nidoking, when his Arcanine came roaring through. It charged into the Nidoking with enough force to send it flying back nearly 10 feet. Arcanine stood up firmly, setting his sights on the Nidoking. Arcanine opened its mouth wide, and began to charge a large flame in its mouth. A Fire Blast launched from its mouth and hit the Nidoking dead on, burning it to a crisp. Arcanine then collapsed onto the ground.
Gary leapt to his feet, concerned about his prized pokemon. "What's wrong Arcanine?" Gary asked his pokemon with true concern in his voice. Brox looked down underneath the Arcanine, its blood leaking out onto the grass.
"It must have crashed into Nidoking's horn when it attacked it," Brox assumed. Brox then realized what that meant. "Gary, you have to get away from it! It's going to become just like them!" Gary stood there, still clinging to his Arcanine. "Gary!" Brox screamed, running towards him. He grabbed Gary and tried to pull him away. Gary wouldn't budge. "Come on, we have to go!"
Gary let go of his Arcanine, and Brox dragged him backwards a few feet before Gary shrugged him off. Gary turned to look at Brox. "I'm sorry for thinking you were one of them. Go see my Grandpa about what's going on with all of this." Gary looked at him solemnly, with determination in his eyes. "Take this," Gary said, handing Brox a pokeball. "Umbreon is a good pokemon. I won't need him where I'm going." A little tear rolled down Gary's face, his eyes still showing passion and stength.
Arcanine began to raise off its feet, growling slightly as it lifted up off the ground. Gary smirked a bit, and turned around to face his former pokemon. He picked up the bat that he had tripped over. He looked Arcanine squarely in the eyes, seeming to look past the haze and into the pokemon inside. Gary charged, yelling, towards his Arcanine, who returned the favor and started towards him.
Brox turned around and ran because he couldn't stand watching what was going to happen. He raced off and out of town, Pinsir in toe, not caring what was in his way. Gary's words echoed in his mind. "Go see my Grandpa about what's going on." Brox looked down as he ran, at the pokeball in his hand, and clutched it as tight between his fingers and palm as he could.
Brox closed his eyes and kept moving.[/COLOR]

OOC: Uh... One quick question. How long ago did the virus start spreading? Or are we assuming that it's been long enough for the virus to spread all over Johto/Kanto and infecting the vast majority of Wild Pokemon?

A girl of about 18 years is lying unconscious in what appeared to be an abandoned mansion, among things like the bags and broken cups and carts that were strewn about the area. There were four empty Pokeballs by her side, with a crying Togepi leaning against the Pokeball with a symbol of a wing-shaped leaf. A Murkrow was trying to wake up the girl in any way that he could, while a Natu chirped as if she was trying to calm the Togepi down.
Four Pokeballs and three Pokemon?
---HOURS EARLIER---
Lyssane, avid lover of Flying Pokemon, had been working as a flight attendant on a private jet flying over the Seafoam Islands.
She was originally from Hoenn, and her love for Flying Pokemon started with three Bird Pokemon that had suddenly shown up in her backyard in Fortree City - a Natu, Murkrow, and a Tropius. The Tropius was trying to defend the other two from what appeared to be multiple invisible attackers. The backyard garden was also getting totally screwed up, and Lyssane didn't want her mother to think that she somehow caused all of this mess. So Lyssane grabbed her mother's briefcase, ran outside, and swung wildly, knocking out 4 Kecleons. However, another Kecleon became visible, red with rage, and lunged at her. Lyssane could have been severly injured there if the Tropius had not launched a Magical Leaf that tore the Kecleon to shreds in mid-air.
When Lyssane's mother and father returned, they were surprised to see Lyssane with three new friends, and even more surprised when Winona described everything that happened, all the while handing Lyssane a Pokedex. "I saw everything from my Gym. I know Lyssane is supposed to go to Prof. Birch's lab next week, pick one Pokemon to start with, and start her adventure there. Then again, there's nothing in the rulebooks that says she can't start a little early, and with three Pokemon at that."
The jet's destination was Viridian City. Lyssane hoped to challenge the Kanto gyms and go sightseeing for a bit. Earlier, she had agreed to work as a flight attendant in order to this ride to be free, but as she would find out, this was not going to be your typical flight.
It all started with a mystical blue bird flying alongside the jet. The passengers of the jet were all awed by the sight, and so were Lyssane's Natu, Murkrow, and Togepi, all of whom were hitching a ride on the cart that Lyssane was pushing. Then, the three Pokemon heard a strange noise from what appeared to be the storage area. They snuck off the cart with everyone else being too pre-occupied with the Articuno to notice, and made their way to the storage.
The three didn't have a chance to react, because everything went downhill in just ten seconds after their arrival.
There was a broken cage nearby, with a male Nidoran ripping through the nearby luggage. The three watched as in two seconds, Lyssane's bag was torn open, and all four of her Pokeballs rolled out. Another two seconds later, another bag filled with Pokeballs was torn. One of those Pokeballs rolled around the area for three seconds before landing beside the Nidoran, releasing a Voltorb. The plane experienced a quick two second jolt of turbulence, and the Voltorb rolled into the Nidoran's poison spikes. The jolted Nidoran turned around, and the three Pokemon only had one second to get a good look at the Nidoran's glazed, white eyes before the Voltorb self-destructed.

Ok gang, any luck?
Assistant Bramble: You'll be needing this. (he returns my Poke gear) We made some modifacations to it, we added: our Zombie detector program, a full map of Silph Co. and a computer linking port. The detection program scans the area and instantly tells you if someone/ thing is a zombie or not. (he leads me into a side room of the lab where there is a dry erase board)
The Silph Co. of today was doing well until recently. According to our data, their building stands at 20 stories high. (bigger than the game but smaller than the skyscrapers in the anime) We have been trying to hack one of their computer terminals but can't get any more info without getting closer. The computer that we need you to reach is located on the 16th floor.
Each level has 2 staircases and there is an elevator but I doubt that it will be working. We don't know what the situation is on the ground so we are going to Fly you in. Under cover of darkness my Noctowl can drop you on the roof, work your way down from there. There is a security room on the 20th floor, that should be your 1st stop. Once you have got the data, head back to the roof. Noctowl will wait for you but he can only stay until sun rise, if you are not out by then he will assume that you found another way out.
You should know that we uploaded a copy of the Zombie Detector program onto the Pokemon center network. Unfortunately the connection is so crummy that anyone who tries to download it at a Pokemon center will have to wait a long time for it to finish. Ok, if you are ready I will call out Noctowl. (a bright eyed Noctowl comes out of Brambles poke ball)
Open the Lab roof!! (a glass window at the top of the lab opens up to reveal a night sky filled with stars) Good luck, and remember that Noctowl can only stay until dawn! Jiggles and me climb on and the owl pokemon lifts off into the cool air.
Looking behind us I can see the Pallet town lab shrinking into the background. Soaring toward Saffron city we notice that everything is all lit up. As I am wondering if there are still people down there or if the lights turned on automatically we land on the roof.

Dan got used to long boat trips after living on the Sevii islands for at total of 13 years. Even though he never had anything to do, he wouldn't walk around restlessly, but rather just stare in the distance and think. Now afraid to see what happened to Saffron city, the place where his adventure started, he remembered how all this came to be...
-5 years before present-
Having just arrived in Vermillion Dan was amazed by the amount of people here. Whereas the islands had a small population, this city was so crowded and big. And Saffron would be even bigger. He did want to know what was going on in Kanto, with people from Kanto dressed in black building their warehouse on the meadow, which used to be the best place to play. He heard Silph Co. had recently been attacked by a group which called themselves 'Team Rocket'. The people of the warehouse wore uniformes with a red R on it, so he thought there might be a connection.
Not looking where he was going, he bumped into a boy wearing mainly red. "Huh... Oh, sorry..." The boy said nothing and moved on.
He had asked people at the Pokémon center about going to Saffron. They said he just had to stay out of the tall grass and that there was an uphill path that went straight from Vermillion to Saffron. Nothing to worry about.
"Welcome at Silph Co. What is the reason of your visit?" asked the woman behind the counter.
"Umm, hi. I'm here because there's people on the island I live, Chrono Island, who have built a warehouse. They wear black uniformes with a red R on their chests and hats. They also had a lot of advanced technology and I heard Team Rocket has attacked this place not too long ago so I was wondering if they might have stolen things from here."
"Yes, this building has been attacked by Team Rocket a little while ago. What kind of things did they have?"
"Err, a lot of computers and something that looked like special floor tiles with arrows on them, and a lot of machines of which I have no idea what they could do. There's also a lot of noise coming from the warehouse at night."
"Are you here on your own?"
"Yes, I came with the Seagallop to Vermillion and walked here from there. I stayed in the Pokémon center last night."
"Ok. Do you have any Pokémon?"
"No, I'm afraid I don't"
"How old are you?"
"11."
"You see, we recently started this special program with help of prof. Oak. We now give children who don't live near a professor their first Pokémon if they come to us."
"Really? That's pretty cool."
"Yes, so, would you like to have a Pokémon?"
"Of course I would! I mean, I used to play with the Pokémon in the meadow a lot but I've never had one for myself."
"We recently developed an artificial Pokémon. The reason I'm telling you this is because I just recieved an e-mail about the company being out of Pokémon to give to new trainers, except for our scientists latest invention, Porygon."
"Artificial Pokémon? Is it like a real Pokémon or more like a robot?"
"It's like a robot in the way that it has A.I. and code rather than genes, but they managed to make it a biological creature. It doesn't eat or breathe though."
"Will it have any upgrades?"
"There was an upgrade disc but I'm afraid it was stolen by Team Rocket. It might be released in the future."
"It sounds great. As long as it can learn I can teach it things a 'real' Pokémon can, so can it learn stuff?"
"Yes, it can."
"Awesome!"
"Ok, just fill in this form..."
Even though it had only been 5 years, it seemed like Plug had been there forever. The shady group left the warehouse not much later, where Dan and Plug went to take a look. They found an disc with the label 'Upgrade'. Plug took it and evolved into Porygon2. A few months later it was time for another Pokémon.
-A few months later-
Having acquired 8 badges in Kanto, it was time to go to Johto. Unfortunately, the S.S. Aqua wasn't sailing for a few weeks so they had to go trough the mountains.
"Wow, look at how huge Mt. Silver is!"
"BLIP!"
According to Silph Co. the upgrade Plug had used was a special, superior one, which they were not able to recreate. This upgrade had a lot of extra things, like emotions and much smoother movement. Plug also could load music files from a Pokégear and function as a radio.
"Hey look, what are those black dots quickly moving along the mountain?"
"BLI-IP!"
A Sneasel appeared in front of them. It was wounded.
"What's happened to this Sneasel?!"
Plug went into the Pokégear.
"She says she's been kicked out of her group. She used to be the leader but a Weavile took over."
"Oh... Would you like to come with us?"
The Sneasel looked happy to have found someone who accepted her without having to prove herself. "Snease!"
"I'll call you Chief!"
-About one and a half year after going to Johto-
Lanette: "You know, Bill just sent me some things. I can't use them though. Maybe you'd like to have them?"
"Depends."
"Well, he recenly made an upgrade for Porygon. It's not authorized by Silph but he says it safe. He also sent me this egg."
"I'm not sure if I want an unauthorized upgrade. What if something goes from. I'd love to have the egg. I like the yin-yang look of it, so the Pokémon that comes out of it must be cool too, right Ariel?"
"Tailo!"
"Cute Tailow."
"Tail!"
"I caught her a bit south of Meteor Falls. She seemed lost."
"Here you go (hands the egg to Dan).Are you sure you don't want the upgrade?"
"I guess I can hold on to it. Have Bill send me an e-mail as soon as he knows it's completely safe."
"Ok-" Lanette trips over a book. "AAAH!"
"BLIP- BZZZZZT..."
While tripping, th disc slipped out of Lanettes hand and hit Plug right on it's head.
"Ok... Plug, are you alright. You look different." says Dan while removing a mountain of books from Plug.
"Where'd the disc go Lanette?"
"I think Plug accidentally used it. It's a Porygon-Z now."
"How do you feel Plug?"
"PRRRRRRRT! =D" (Plug makes a smiley face appear on the Pokégear).
"I guess I'm ok with the upgrade then."

"Hey man, wake up, we're almost there."
"Huh... Oh, I wasn't asleep, just thinking."
"Fun thoughts?"
"You could say that. Looking back at the way I traveled to get here."
"Vermillion seems pretty zombie free, but it's pretty empty too. Just make sure you don't get yourselves killed or something. I'll be contacting you every 12 hours, ok?"
"Ok. We should just stay here and look around for a bit to see if the coast is clear, then I'll go to Saffron."

Euphy I choose you!! (Parasect comes out of her pokeball) The roof is clear except for some spotlights and a door with a card reader. As I run toward it Euphy and Jiggles follow me while Noctowl finds somewhere to perch.
Maybe one of those cards from the snake trainer will work on this door. (I start swiping cards and the door opens on the 4th try) It looks like he had some connection to Silph Co, lets see what we can find out.
There is a long hallway leading to branching paths in front of a door. According to my pokegear map, that is the security room. When I give the signal, we'll bum rush them and you guys use Sing and Spore to put them to sleep. (Jiggles and Euphy nod)
We charge at the door but it just swings open. There are a couple of hats laying around but no one is inside and all of the moniters only show static. This is weird but we shouldn't complain if it makes our job easier. We run down one of the hallways.
Occasionally we pass doors marked "lab work in progress" but we keep moving. My building map shows some stairs further up this way but we run into a problem. A Stantler blocks the way. Worse than that is my pokegear scanner reveals that it is a zombie. (drool drips from it's mouth) What is a zombie doing way up here? I can see the staircase behind the beast.
The zombie Stantler lowers it's horns to attack but a string shot from a side hallway begins covering it. Within moments the zombie is immobilized. A Caterpie crawls out and moves toward the zombie Stantler. Wow that Caterpie is awesome! I'm gonna capture it!
(Jiggles pokes me and points at the bug) Caterpie has started gnawing on the helpless zombie Stantler. What the pineapple?!? My scanner shows that it is a zombie Caterpie. (is this some kind of super zombie?) What is going on here?! Zombies eating zombies?! What kind of experiments was Silph doing here?
As we watch the Caterpie devour the much larger Stantler I remember the empty security room. The guards couldn't have been turned into zombies could they? Or even eaten?!! Before the zombie Caterpie finishes it's meal we turn around and start looking for the other set of stairs.

''SKARRRM'' Iron shouted out to stop me from saying another word. It was her way of telling me to stop thinking negatively and that i would have been okay no matter what.

I looked on the floor around me but i couldn't find anything, until i realized there was something in Cyanide's mouth.
''Nideeeeee.... whats in your mouth?'' i asked in a suspicious tone.
''Nidoran?'' she answered back at me, and started to take what looked like her innocent face. She gulped up the rest of whatever was in her mouth.
''Open your mouth Cyanide, just show me what's in there'', I approached her slowly then opened her mouth with my hands, looked inside then suddenly she burped and a little flame burst out. I swung myself backwards and took cover.
''OH MY GOD NIDE WHAT WAS THAT!''
''NIDDOOO?'' I guessed she didn't even know what was going on. Skarmory and the kid laughed at the comic show me and Cyanide put on for them.
''Its not FUNNY !'' I screamed back at them angrily.
''So-sorry sir, since your still alive did you see the villagers ? they decided that feeding on the mushrooms from the Bellchime Trails wasn't going to let them survive for mush longer so they went to get help about 5 hours ago. They left me here since they told me i was too young to go down with them.''
''Wait, it hasn't even been two days and they already decided to give up on the plan we had made ?''
''I guesss.''
''hey where are your parents, she wouldn't leave you alone here right ?''
''I don't know, i haven't seen them since you saved us and brought us up here''
I didn't know how i was going to break it to him, all the villagers were zombies and i killed them. His parents too. my eyes started to tear up. I had to tell him but i didn't know how to.
''Kid, your parents, they're... they're the colors on Ho-oH's wings now, they're never going to fade away''
''What do you mean ? They're with Ho-oH ? Ho-oH saved them ?''
I nodded, lacking the words to answer his questions. His face kind of lit up, thinking of his parents with the Legendary Ho-Oh.

After the Voltorb exploded, there was a gaping hole in the jet, and it was steadily losing altitude. The Articuno that had been flying alongside the jet had since disappeared into the icy caverns of the Seafoam islands, and the jet was quickly barreling towards the beach, or perhaps even the sea.
Natu used Psychic to pick up the Pokeball containing Tropius, while Togepi held onto Murkrow for dear life as they all tried to scramble back into the cabin area. However, the three Pokemon were absolutely powerless - the door leading back into the cabin area had been slammed shut, and the three were not strong enough to budge it open. Natu thought about releasing Tropius, but by then, it was already too late. The plane had already slammed into the sandy beach, instantly killing most of the passengers and knocking all survivors unconcsious.

The first thing Tropius noticed was a ridiculously messy beach. He thought he was sent out to clean up this mess, until he noticed that no one was commanding him to do anything. His Pokeball had struck a boulder nearby, which released him. Lyssane was lying unconcious in the sand, and Natu and Murkrow were struggling to wake up and fly. Togepi, the mysterious stowaway that Lyssane found an hour before the flight (and the other two quickly wanted her to adopt), was already up and about. Togepi pushed Lyssane's briefcase across the sand, slipped, and began to cry.
Not only did the crying wake up Natu and Murkrow, but it also attracted the attention of a nearby Kingler and a few Krabby. All of them were zombified. Scavenger crabs that acted even more like scavengers due to the effects of the zombie virus, they all advanced towards the wreckage. Tropius knew Natu would be able to teleport everyone else to a far off and hopefully safe location, except for him, for he was likely far too large. Tropius stood in the path of the crabs. He needed to buy Natu a few seconds to get everything together.
Tropius swung his head around, looked at Natu, and yelled, "Save yourselves! Teleport out of here! I'll hold them back!" Murkrow immediately protested, replying, "A whole bunch of silly crabs can't beat us! No way, we're staying!"
The Kingler launched a Bubblebeam, and Tropius responded with a roar as he launched razor leaves that shredded the bubbles and struck the Kingler. However, some of the Krabby then jumped and sliced Tropius with their Crabhammers, which caused him to stagger in pain. And there were still more Krabby advancing towards the others, with Togepi being the closest one.
Natu cried, "Murkrow, we need to get Togepi, we're leaving!" Murkrow muttered in additional protest as he blew back some of the Krabby with a Whirlwind while Natu used Psychic to drag the still-crying Togepi and the briefcase to Lyssane. Natu then raised her wings, chanted a mystical chirp, and she disappeared along with everything gathered around her. Tropius, looking back and seeing everyone gone, jumped to generate an earthquake that knocked all of the Krabby off balance, then generated a whirling storm of leaves that knocked out most of the Krabby as he took to the air. He hastily flew over the sea, towards Vermillion City, but he started to notice that he was somehow starting to feel stronger - and losing his ability to think clearly.
---THE FOLLOWING TAKES PLACE IN THE PRESENT TIME---
By the time Lyssane regained consciousness, Togepi had stopped crying, and the two birds were looking at a map of Cinnabar Island that was pinned to a nearby wall. The map indicated that everyone was currently in some sort of lab inside an abandoned mansion or warehouse of sorts. Lyssane got back to her feet, and muttered, "What happened?" She picked up Tropius' Pokeball and clicked on the button, but it opened to reveal an empty Pokeball. At this point, she had so many questions, like, "What happened to the plane? Where's Tropius? Why are we here?" Togepi just stared at Lyssane with a sad look, not yet able to speak like the others, while Natu and Murkrow knew it was futile to try to explain everything, as Lyssane could not understand Pokemon speech. All the two birds could do was direct Lyssane's attention to the map.
The general mood among the group was along the lines of, "We need to get the hell out of here and figure out exactly what the hell is going on," so Lyssane salvaged as much as she could from everything Natu managed to teleport here. That included all of her Pokeballs, her briefcase packed with the standard Pokemon Trainer supplies and four sandwiches (purchased from those cheap airport outlets beforehand), and a few packets of rice balls, bottles of water, and even a backpack containing ripe Tropius fruit (of which that last one only served to dampen everyone's mood even more). Lyssane took the backpack and shoved the rice balls and bottles of water into it.
Natu perched on Lyssane's right shoulder, Murkrow flapped his wings into the air, and Togepi sat on the backpack. With everything ready, Lyssane wore the backpack, picked up the briefcase, and opened the only door leading out of the lab room, into an uncertain future.

Current Objectives: Get out of this building and figure out exactly what's going on. The long term objective is to find out exactly what happened to Tropius.
EDIT: For the record, I haven't watched Lost. By the time I heard enough about it to try watching a few episodes, the series was already far in, to the point where it seemed too complicated and trippy for me to make the effort into trying to keep up with it. >_>

And on that last syllable it cried out, it flashed right towards us landed right in front of Eclair who was looking the other way.I could see a small needle mark on Gliscors chest that looked infected. It was a zombie, one I guessed was experimented on and shot with the virus.

Eclairs head started to slide off of its body spurting out blood.

"I think... There was some information about zombies on the Pokémon Center system but it didn't really want to download. I did managed to get this thing called 'zombie checker'."
"Here, take these binoculars, you're going to need them."
"Cool, thank you. Whenever I get in trouble I just let Sabre guard though, but these will probably will be usefull. Sabre is a bit too big for not being noticed."
"The coast is clear now, and it seems that the Pokémon Center here hasn't fallen yet."
"I guess I'll go there first then. Chief, can you go ahead? Just use Ice Shard on everything that attacks and see if the Pokémon Center is zombie free. I'll have to go that way anyway."
"Good luck."

Dan jumped from the boat on the dock, while Chief was already at the Pokémart. The doors of the gate that seperated the coast from the boardwalk had it's doors broken open.
"Ok, Plug, can you stay on guard on the other side of the gatehouse?"
"BRRRT!" Plug quickly flies towards the gate.
"BLIP!" a few minutes earlier Dan and the Pokémon decided to pick a easy way of communication. In Plugs case BLIP meant yes and clear, while BLEEP meant no and trouble. For the other Pokémon the first part of their name was yes and the second part no.
"Ok..." Dan grabs Sabres Pokéball and runs trough the gate while throwing it.
"Ab!"
"Ok let's go!"
"Weav!" Chief had returned. The Pokémon Center was safe.
"Sabre, to the Pokémon Center."
"Ab!"
There wasn't anyone in the Pokémon Center but nurse Joy.
"Oh, hello... Wait, you're not a zombie are you?"
"No I'm not. Sabre, you stay on guard. I'm going to Saffron to find out what happened, so do you know anything?"
"Well, I know theres a bunch of zombies on the hills north of here, but you should be able to see them from upstairs. It's a pretty open area so it might be hard to get trough. Saffron itself appears to have organized zombies patrolling the street, but from what a few trainers who tried to go there told me they walk easy to recognize routes. There should be some open spots between each guard."
"I'll go upstairs and take a look at the road then. Plug, you come with me."
"How many do you count?"
"BRT BRT BRT BRT BRT!"
"Yeah, I count 5 too..."
"Thanks for the help, we're going now."

Silph Co - 20th floor

We could ask some Silph workers for help but my pokegear doesn't detect normal people so there's no way for us to know where they are hiding. It would be just my luck if the survivors where all on the 1st floor. Me, JIggles and Euphy run down the stairs to the 19th floor.
The walls are scorched and there are big piles of black ash on the floor. I sure hope that these were zombies. We run through the whole floor without any problems, it was nothing but charred hallways and burnt floors. The stairway leading to the 18th floor has a door at the bottom of the steps.
Inside the door there is a fitness room filled with at least 7 zombie fighting types. The zombies stop lifting weights and look in our direction. More super zombies?! Why are they working out? (out of the corner of my mouth) Euphy, please use Spore now. (Parasects Spore blankets the room and all of the zombie fighting types drop, except for one)
A zombie Blaziken launches a Flamethrower from the far side of the room. The attack narrowly misses us but Euphy still takes heavy damage from the flames. Euphy, nooo!! Take a nice long rest. (Parasect goes back into her ball) Son of a peach! Dr. P, I choose you now! (Hypno jumps out of his poke ball)
Before I call the order, Dr. P readies a Psychic attack. The zombie Blaziken prepares to fire again but it's too late. A blue glow surronds the heavy weight lifting equipment before it flies in the zombies direction. The zombie Blaziken is crushed by several large machines as they slam into the wall all at once. Dr. P exhales a deep breath.

Silph Co - 18th floor

We run past the squashed zombie Blaziken and the other sleeping zombies. I don't know how long that will hold them we had better hurry. The door opens and reveals the stairs going down to the 17th floor.
The 17th floor looks a lot more like a normal office building than a lab. The staircase opens up to a large room containing a maze of cubicles. Sitting at the entrance to the cubicle wall maze is a zombie Victreebel but it has not noticed us yet.
My map shows a staircase in the far right corner. With Jiggles and Dr. P, I could fight my way through here but I have a better idea. Dr. P, good job return now. (Hypno goes into his poke ball) Aphrodite I choose you! (Bellossom comes out of her ball)
I know your Acid won't be as strong since you evolved but try it on some of these walls. (Aphrodite spits out a black substance that eats through the thin office wall) Great! We can skip the maze and go straight to the stairs! Keep it up!
Heading due right, Aphrodite uses Acid to open a path to the far corner of the office space as me and Jiggles follow. After about 20 layers of cubicle we reach the stairs. Looking back I can see the melted holes that we left behind us. Great work, take a rest. (the exhausted but smiling Bellossom returns to her poke ball)
Jiggles and me walk down the staircase leading to the 16th floor. Looking around at the bottom of the stairs, I spot a few computer workstations. (I let out a gasp) Checking my pokegear, I see that the computer that we need to reach is a few steps in front of us.

OOC: I just now realized that I completely forgot the fact that this takes place after HG/SS, in which Cinnabar Island should have been destroyed by a volcanic eruption, save for a Pokemon Center. Ah well, I can work around it, as I doubt that realistically everything would have been destroyed.

Lyssane opened the door, and stepped out into some sort of completely wrecked hallway. Wrecked as in the walls were all cracked, and almost all of the windows had some black rock oozing through.
"That map was completely outdated, wasn't it?" Natu remarked. "There was a travel brochure on the flight saying that Cinnabar Island erupted several years ago."
"Bad place to teleport to," Murkrow responded.
"Hey, I've never seen Kanto before. It's not like I know any Pokemon Centers around here."
However, there was some light in the hallway. It seemed to be coming from a destroyed wall that everyone could fit through. Past that wall were slopes of hardened lava and an ocean of water as far as the eye could see, with several peaceful Fire-type Pokemon roaming around and a Pokemon Center at the bottom. There were many trainers patrolling the area close to the center, as if they were expecting something to attack. Lyssane ran down to the Pokemon Center through the rugged terrain, and in the process a Charmander had taken notice and started to follow too. To Natu and Murkrow, the Charmander looked like your typical curious Charmander, and most importantly, completely normal. At least for now.
All of the trainers directed Lyssane to the Pokemon Center, and said that Nurse Joy could explain everything. From there, Lyssane explained her story to Nurse Joy, while Natu and Murkrow told everything they knew to the Chansey and any Pokemon that were currently being treated, knowing that at least one of them had to know how to talk to humans in an understandable way.
After listening to everything, Nurse Joy said, "Give me your Pokedex. I'm going to modify it, but it takes a while. You're going to need it." While the Pokedex was downloading something, she further explained, "I'm surprised that there are any flights going into this region. I thought the authorities closed off all flights after the zombie Pokemon started appearing."
Lyssane asked, "Zombie Pokemon?"
"You're really not from around here. Few know where the zombie outbreak started, although Blaine told me yesterday - before leaving to scout around the Seafoam Islands - that Silph Co, in Saffron City, was doing an experiment involving Pokerus. Something went wrong, and here we are today. Cinnabar Island is mostly safe for now due to how remote this place is, although if what your Pokemon told us about the Seafoam Islands is true, it won't be long before a wild Pokemon on this island gets infected and we have an army to deal with.
I wonder if your flight was illegally sanctioned... I'm surprised that there was an already infected Pokemon aboard that flight. I'm even more surprised that you didn't know much about it. I would have thought that this would be major news in all of the other regions. It sounds like our communication system is terrible. Can you tell me anything about the people on board that flight?"
"It was a private jet. A lot of the people on board were quite rich. I did notice a Silph Co. scientist who was muttering something about a mistake in 'the results of his research' and hoping that he 'noticed it early enough so that the one Pokemon couldn't affect any others in Hoenn'. He was also muttering something like 'what the hell were my superiors thinking?'"
Nurse Joy nodded. "Well, that sounds hopeful for Hoenn. A few hours ago, the remaining Pokemon scientists of Pallet Town made a program that could detect Zombie Pokemon. That's what I'm downloading into your Pokedex right now. It will take at least another hour, so talk to the nearby trainers to learn some more about what's happening. Lyssane turned around and was surprised to see Togepi trying to speak to the Charmander. Nurse Joy said, "That Charmander followed you in. You're lucky it's not a Zombified Pokemon, because there have been reports of trainers getting attacked and becoming zombified too. Are you going to take that Charmander along with you?" Lyssane looked through her briefcase and noticed that she forgot to bring along any empty Pokeballs, and she couldn't possibly use the one Tropius used. "Not as one of my Pokemon. If the Charmander wants to stay with me, then he'll keep following us around. Maybe I'll take him in soon. I've always wanted to become a Flying-type gym leader."
Lyssane went outside, with the Charmander following, and spoke to the nearby trainers. Several times, a zombified water-type Pokemon crawled or leapt out of the ocean and attacked, but none of them could do anything against the army of Pokemon defending the Pokemon Center. An hour later, the Zombie Detection Program finished installing, and Lyssane faced yet another dillema - how to get off Cinnabar Island.
Nurse Joy said, "We're close to running out of supplies. I think we can only hold out for another two weeks before being forced to abandon all efforts to protect the island, unless the centers from the distant and currently zombie-free Sevii Islands decide to risk helping us out. Right now, we're hoping that the fishermen that left three days ago managed to reach Vermillion City and are returning with supplies, but it's not looking hopeful if it's taking them this long. That's why Blaine went to scout."

The storm from the night before was gone and the sky was clear, which made for a nice spring-like day. Why, then, was the town empty? She headed to the Ice Gym to find out...

This level looks nice. There are glass windows in place of concrete for 2 of the 4 walls on this floor. Judging by the look of the sky it won't be too much longer until dawn. All I have to do is copy the data to my Pokegear and then we can go to the roof.
Rookie, I choose you! (Staryu jumps out of his poke ball)
You guys keep a look out while I get the file. (I link up my pokegear to the target computer) As it starts copying I notice the file title. It reads: Pokerus virus experiments after the zombie outbreak. Is this what the Pallet lab assistants wanted? This is the computer that they marked on my map.

Jigg!!! Jiggles shouts in alarm.Oh great, some zombies from the maze have followed us down here. (Rookie fires water gun at the stairs and downs a zombie Persian.) Copy status: 21% (a zombie Vulpix slips on the wet stairs)
As long as a lot of them don't show up we should be ok. Rookie continues shooting water gun at the bottom of the stairs and Jiggles hurls office furniture. After a while there is a wet pile of zombies, broken computers and chairs blocking the staircase.
We might need to find another way out of here. 89% almost finished! With the stairs blocked the zombies stop appearing for a bit. 100% Copy complete, let's get out of.. the pile blocking the staircase is slid out of the way from the stairs. A zombie Machoke staggers down the steps.
You won't stop us!! Use Water gun at 2' o clock and give it everything you got!! The water attack knocks the zombie Machoke off it's feet and into the pile of stuff and zombies. Rookie, full power!! The water stream increases in pressure and pushes the pile into a glass window which shatters. The wet zombies and furniture crash into the ground below.
On impact the zombies break into hundreds of pieces. Rookie, good job return now! (Staryu returns to his ball) I know it's risky but I think we need to try the elevator. That Machoke probably came down here from the fitness room. (Jiggles jams the button for the elevator)
Dr. P, I choose you now! (Hypno appears out of his poke ball ready to fight) The extra caution was not needed however as the elevator doors slide open to reveal an empty space. The 3 of us run in the elevator and the doors close as more zombies appear at the bottom of the stairs.

Well, first entry... about time, eh?
eh, i havent read anyone elses entries, so ill try to be vague.

"Ah damn," said Max as he reclined by the edge of the lake. "And here I came all the way out to this stupid lake to see a rare red Gyarados, and all I find are these stupid fish." He was sitting with his legs in the water, his Poliwrath Dizzy splashing about in the water and fighting off any Magikarp that he could. Max grew up listening to the exploits of Team Rocket on the radio, on the TV, and grew up dreaming of becoming a high ranking member of the organization. When he heard that it was toppled for the first time by a kid named Red, he was angry and grew violent with his mother. He ran away and decided that he would find Red and beat him up to have his revenge for him ruining the group.
A few years later, when he heard that a small splinter group was trying to rebuild the organization in the Johto region, he took his only pokemon at the time, a small Sableye he nicknamed Spencer, and snuk aboard the SS Anne and, upon arriving in Olivine City, headed for Goldenrod. While he was aboard the ship, he managed to fight some of the other trainers aboard and trained his Sableye to a admirable level.
However, when he arrived in Olivine, he overheard that a person named Gold had single-handedly put an end to the attempted takeover of the Goldenrod radio tower, and he grew disheartened. He wandered around Johto for some time, managing to find, and later capture, a baby Poliwag.
After a few years of wandering around, making a nuisance of himself, and causing trouble for other trainers and their pokemon, he had managed to gather quite a considerable amount of money for himself.
"Oh boy, I sure loooooooove seeing a bunch of useless fish splash about in this lake. Geez." He got up and recalled Dizzy into his pokeball, when he saw a young trainer running from an odd looking Noctowl further ahead. The Noctowl was chasing after the kid, pecking and scratching at his back. "Heh heh, stupid kid," he said with a smirk, then he walked along the bank of the lake towards Mahogany town.

As Dan said 'Ok' Sabre rushed forward. Chief already went ahead to take care of the zombies and Ariel circled above the road. Plug held on to Dan.
Making full use of Sabres abilities Dan didn't say where to go, instead he looked around to make sure everyone was doing alright. About 10% of the way to Saffron was behind them already.
Then, a zombie meowth came out of the grass. Chief appeared out of nowhere and knocked it away, then she disappeared again. 30% done, 70% to go.
Ariel came down and hit a zombie right in the face. 45% without any real problems.
A group of zombie Sandshrew was ahead attacking a Magnemite. No match for Plug's Ice Beam. The Magnemite had become a zombie too, but Chief came by and used Brick Break. 35% left.
Left and right more zombies appeared. Plug hit all of them, while Chief and Ariel took down any escaping ones so they couldn't alarm others. 10% left.
Sabre stopped.
Why?
"Sabre, what's wrong?"
Then, the ground in front of them burts open and a massive Tyranitar comes out. It's got scratches all over it's body.
Chief hits it with a Brick Break. It get's knocked back, but it doesn't really seem impressed, like it doesn't know it was hit.
Dan jumps of Sabre so it can use Superpower. It hits, but the Tyranitar shrugs it off like it was nothing. Lots of sand is flying around.
Ariel has knocked out every other zombie in the field and it hits Tyranitar with U-turn. The ground takes more damage from Tyranitars claws than the massive beast itself.
Ice Beam and Ice Shard are launched at it simultaneously. Finally some progress is being made as it bends over. Except that it now runs towards Vermillion and uses Giga Impact on a tree.
"Ehh, ok. Let's go."
Staying in the gate, looking outside using the binoculars they see that the zombies are indeed patrolling in a certain pattern. "Where should we go. I don't think it's really safe to stay on the streets for an extended period of time."
Chief runs off. "Plug, what's she doing?" "BLIP!" "Hmm..." Chief comes back again with a cup from the Pokémon Center.
"Why did you take that?" "Weav!" "The Pokémon Center is clear?!" "Weav!" Hmm, ok, let's go there then."
The Machoke that is patrolling passes by. "Ok, just a little more... Now!" They run to the Pokémon Center which isn't that far away. There's 3 people: Nurse Joy, Inspector Gravys and a scientist.
"LONG TIME NOT SEEN YOU DAN. YES, RIGHT NOW 2 DAYS IS A LONG TIME."
