Opeth Wrote:Why would you get both? Waste of points. You won't have a decent Demo until late 16x if you try to max both.

Everything seems a waste of points >.< 50 pts in demo+ST just to use it half the time, and the damage isn't that great either. Plus I kinda wanna try a new path too.

Btw is there any thing that requires demo to be done well? All I can think of is zakum top arm and maybe pap.

Honestly, considering that your class has the ability to not only deal decent damage to practically everything in the game, you have the chance to make yourself 100% invincible at certain bosses, AND you get party buffs that reduce cooldown on ANYTHING and ups attack speed. Your class is VERY amazing. It should be left as it is.

And I agree that Arans are broken beyond belief. And yet I want one like hell.

Demolition is not a waste. It's your main damage dealer at bosses. Plus it can pin Bigfoot and wreck any boss from a safe distance. It absolutely mauls Pap if you stand up top away from Dispel/Stun.

Save yourself the trouble and go Orb or DS. Never both.

IllegallySane Wrote:I will have to agree with Takebacker Aran is the mighty outlier for this. They make Night Lords seem balanced. That's right, I said it. A class that actually is more broken than Night Lords!

I'm not defending my own class here, because imo, they're not 'broken'. They 'were' broken. But uh, last I checked, even with apples and SE, they still do nowhere near top damage vs other classes. Put it this way:

TT+SP

1st hit
2nd hit
3rd hit
4th hit
5th hit
6th hit

The last 3 hits are 50% weaker than the original 1st 3 hits, and the damage is only boosted if these conditions are met:
a) One out of the 1st 3 hits is a critical.
b) SE is activated
c) Apple.

Otherwise, if they spam TT, and 70% of the time (as an example), and they hit mostly non-crits, they 'suck'. Luck plays a factor when it comes to Night Lords. I admit, there isn't much skill in playing a NL except for timing a simple Flash Jump and learning how to multi-jump platforms back-and-forth (or left and right in succession) without falling off.

PS: IMO, unless they get the 1st 3 hits CRIT'ed over 70% of the times during a boss battle, they're not going to surpass a lot of classes at bossing. NLs are terribly... terribly... slow at soloing Zakum, anybody who says NLs are fast at soloing Zakum can go watch some NL-soloing videos vs Zakum. The only bosses they do well on, for the majority of it, would be Papulatus (and maybe Pianus, but who the hell solos Pianus.. ffs).

^I'm not sure how much you know about statistics, but if you assume that a NL uses Triple Throw a couple thousand times in the course of a single boss run, and your chance to crit with SE is 65%, you're not going to be critting 75% of the time or 30% of the time. It's a once in a lifetime event to crit more than 70% or less than 60%. So luck is irrelevant.

Aran are OP'd and should not ever be compared to anything. Unless you want me to remark on both their bossing ability and training speed being higher than mine, getting a tremendous boost from BOTH SI and SE, etc. Quitcherbitchiin.
