Nah, Nexon has a history of being very unreasonable and I think it's very safe to assume the worst of them 100% of the time. They have set that fear in us, how can anyone expect anything less? *gets banned for attacking 3 monsters at the same time on a popular training map*

Well, this is you inviting them to investigate your account because you submitted an application. It might just be but I'd only be paranoid in that case had I lied about something. They can't really go overboard, I should think. Hope. Pray. -.-

Exactly, so they could justify banning you. It's like if you go into the police station and say HEY GUYS, YOU CAN CHECK MY HOME AND SEE IF I'VE DONE ANYTHING WRONG and they find 16 kidnapped children, a vault full of stolen money and Mr. Petterman's lost dog. Or just find a small bag of pot. Either way you get arrested.
They can't go around accusing random people of things but if you invite them to investigate you and they find something they don't like and you get banned then you have no grounds to complain at all.
Also, again to be clear, I've never done anything wrong or have ever been banned (that *gets banned for attacking 3 monsters...* thing was just an example of them taking unreasonable measures)
This is just my reasoning for why I am weary of this. The questions seem far too "hey kid, your mom told me pick you up from school today because she's been tied up at work... heh heh heh. Plus I've got candy!" for me.

Well, "overboard" is subjective and Nexon does have a history of somewhat draconian concepts of right and wrong. Or have you have forgotten their attempt to shut down southperry?

I have characters on -all- servers, have large numbers of multiple accounts, a pserver (private use though...), played on pservers, live in europe (not service area... -.-) and above all, I don't have -any- reason to go fix other servers other then Khaini.... I don't know the ppl on other servers anymore, nor do I (really) care for them to be there for months and months in a row... Remember to be a GM-deputy, you need to be it for months after months, not just for 2 weeks...
Also, the more I would improve other servers by banning hackers there, the more reason -THOSE- would come to Khaini for a safe haven...
Nope, I would only apply if I could be one in Khaini itself...

That statement doesn't actually make any sense.
They're going to have a very high attrition rate the first round just because I expect 80% of the people who get in are going to realize they volunteered for one of the crappiest unpaid jobs ever, and it's not the glamorous lifestyle they seem to think.
What are the GMs going to do? Lock your real accounts and force you to be a guide? Hell no, if you find it's not something you want, they'll take it away from you and give it to someone else without a seconds hesitation because a bored or unhappy guide is far more dangerous than a newbie one.

As much as we all think the questions are a trap I think it's just a matter of determining who has integrity. Obviously they are going to investigate accounts and I think they just wanted to see how many people were going to honest with them because those are the types of people they are looking for.
The PServer question could've been fabricated but I totally admitted to playing them a couple times because I don't play them anymore and haven't for quite some time. The online community lies so much already I figured I switch it up

I mean all they're doing is using hijacked content from the real... I've already got access to the real. Why play someone elses version of it that's often not even up to date feature wise?

When you cut the training time by 1/10 or more, it's a lot easier to get an idea of what other classes are like. I tried a Priest, and hey... found out I don't like the class in 3rd job. Took me only about a week to get to 100 so it wasn't a big deal. Even if I grind hard in Global I can barely do a level a day =x
I guess the alternative is to borrow someone's account but they don't really want you doing that either...

I only use my own pserver these days to try out all the jobs... and mix them offcourse... I found out that using flash jump in combination with the new upgraded Bstep speed is a real nice playstyle (meh... shadowers should have gotten flash jump too...). It feels like unlike i've ever experienced in the "real" maple before... and offcourse, assassinate30 actually EXCISTS in my pserver, and not in gMS... -.-
And training above lvl140 is boring as hell, and I'm not going to pay shiet loads of money to buy leech from a seller to get to lvl 200 one day... while I can reach lvl 300 in 1 second and "pwn" with damage...
Trust me on this one: If Maplestory's levelcap had been lvl 150 instead of lvl 200, there would be no need for pservers... So actually Nexon created their own problems with the retarded near unreachable (without leeching...) lvl 200 level cap...

Applied, and while I havn't done anything to get banned for (1 account, no sharing, no private servers, no hacking, no false info, etc..), I am still worried about how they will "investigate" my character.
Like, Under the PrivateServer question, I mentioned that I have never played a private server, but am a part of a forum where they run a PS
So, if they investigate my ign and see that I post there, Id hate for them to just assume I play on their private servers... especially since I joined years before the private servers were even created
Then at the very bottom where it asked for any additional info, I gave my explanation for my ign name change back in jan (ZacEcwcwweV3 to AuthenticZac... Needs explaining so they don't get suspicious)
But yea, while asking for your license does ensure that no one will have multiple Maple Guide accounts, it does seem like a bit much. Im sure many parents are not going to allow their kids to submit that kind of info, meaning that only us older players are going to get to be guides. Even then, how many of us are actually willing to give up our driver's license? >_> Idk about you, but my picture isn't all that great.
