Ok gang I'm sure alot of you are having problems getting your Maplestory to load up and work properly..here is a solution that I found...and my Maple now works just fine...btw...I'm running Windows Vista...and got the same stupid error alot of people have...telling me that I was attempting to run in capatability mode...hope this helps...:f6:

1. Restarted my PC

2. Delete Gameguard folder from MS folder

3. Run ASPLnchr in the MS folder

4. Open task manager and end process for ASPlnchr

So I left my character idling in town while I switched away from my virtual machine (leaving the game full screen) to place a bug report on something. When I switched back, I was greeted with this lovely item:

Broken? I think so.

(Oh yes, and because I just placed a support ticket, I can't open another one. Their web page for tickets doesn't seem to load correctly, even persisting when I logged out... so not really relevant I guess.)

Ugh, this sucks.

The "even channel lag" is still here for me, Can't log into half of the channels since May 08 (Nexon hates my isp)

I've seen a hacker already.

According to the Nexon forums if your CPU spikes to 100% load you'll get that error. Would tend to happen more with a VM if it is running in the background since VMWare tries to minimize computer usage.

The 100% load IS something that they will be fixing soon though right?

100% load during bosses is the most common source for lag. MapleStory fails at utilizing graphics properly. I actually lag worse with SLI enabled on my graphics cards. Actually it fails at any new technology since the games conception

Quad cores lagging because it only uses 1 core = phail.

On other notes, VMWare does work, I just ran it on ubuntu and patched/played just like normal(not necessarily fine). MS always runs slow through vmware on ubuntu for me, even with 2 cores and 2gb ram dedicated.

Interesting. I'll have to see if there's something I can do about it.

I did play normally on a low-level character for about 40 minutes before that happened. Later, I left my shop up while I went to take a shower; VM was left in the foreground and game was full-screen, but I returned to find the same HackShield message. MS and my door spot were gone.

So is this happening to other people as well as those using VMware?

Nexon needs to add dual core support. No point in having advanced hardware if the software doesn't utilize it.

I've played MS on a single core at around 2.5ghz and got smooth frame rates, then I played it on a Dual running @ 2.0 and I lagged.

So far I haven't had any hackshield errors.

Yeah I've got no problems here, I'm alittle upset they don't have a MapleStory themed splash, but oh well, what do you do?
