Huh. Well, I have beaten the final boss on pikmin 3. Have around 2/3rds of the fruits Pretty sure it's shorter than pikmin 2, but the areas are more diverse than cave after cave after cave like in Pikmin 2.

There's also some hidden memos placed around that I've not yet collected all of, which according to miyamoto give you a code that... does something. He's going to tell people later.

It's more pikmin is about all I can say about it. You don't really do anything that different from the previous games. Caves from pikmin 2 are out, but the areas are much bigger (and they look amazing).

I guess, at least, pikmin 3 has that when I say "well, it's more pikmin!" I mean that as a good thing (unlike you super mario 3d world) because it's what I expected out of it, and am happy playing it. It's a good game, and I recommend playing it, but the game isn't going to be the kind of thing that helps the U out of it's dreadful current situation.

edit: I don't like the game pad controls though. Wiimote+Nunchuck all the way. The gamepad doubles as a map while you're using a Wiimote, but I would have preferred having a map on my TV if I'm honest.

I was thinking of getting it at launch in america and actually was the reason I bought my Wii U. But after going through pikmin 2 again I remembered how fast and easy it was. Although I liked the multiplayer of pikmin 2 ill probably just rent pikmin 3. as I haven't heard of anything yet that makes it "own" worthy.

How long is the game? Sounds like it's rather short.

It is, unfortunately. Just finished getting all the fruit and it only took me ~12 hours according to the ingame clock. (36 ingame days). I guess it depends a lot on how quickly you get good at the multitasking, you could probably shave at least an hour off that.

I'm still missing 3 secret memos which I'll have to comb the maps for, because they're hidden, with no hints as to where they are. I still have no idea what they're for, but they give you a 10 digit code once you find all of them, but Nintendo hasn't yet revealed what the code is for.


There's a challenge mode I haven't really looked into yet, but it's already looking smaller than Pikmin 2s (2 had 30 stages, 3 only appears to have 3 sets of 5, and one is just timed boss battles from the main game)

So bit of a shocker. The GameStop over here only got 11 copies of Pikmin 3 today. 10 of which were pre-orders.
I'm surprised at the very little amount of copies that were shipped.

I laughed at Wonderise (Wonder eyes?) Black too. They're definitely being deliberately funny with all of the portrayals of characters that aren't based on ones from other platinum games anyway.

In case people didn't get it, Wonderise Red is Viewtiful Joe, Blue is Vergil (Devil May cry), Pink is Bayonetta, perhaps there are some more too that I missed as I haven't actually played many P* games.

Also, there's a demo on the eShop in all regions now if you need any more convincing on Wonderful 101

And I really hope people don't start shitting on this game for one little mistake. Wonder black should be cataloged as american, then no one would say a thing.

Normal Finish: Day 32 @ 10:42
100% Finish: Day 38 @ 9:44

I have no idea how time is even calculated. Asides from those listed times, it's also giving me a time of 13:33 for the "End" file.
Final level and boss is some bullshit. Well, the first time I fought the final boss. Second time I fought him, after getting all the fruit, I just spammed Ultra-Spicy Spray to victory and ignored 99% of the attack mechanics.

Was also checking the rankings and I have no freaking idea how someone got 100% in 10 game days.

The first two times are the time of day where you finished the end boss. The clock starts at 06:00 and counts on from there, so your first one you beat at 10:42 am ingame time, on day 32, and the second you beat it at 9:44am ingame time on day 38.. The last time is your actual completion time.
