Currently Airing Anime - Curtiss - 2013-04-12 I'll be catching up with Devil Survivor later. In the meanwhile I've downloaded the first two episodes of Hataraku Maou-sama as I love comedies involving demon lords and heroes and it looks really great so far with great animation and smooth transitions between the scenes. Also, I called that reveal at the end of the first episode. Currently Airing Anime - FoolsLove - 2013-04-13 I'm caught up finally on all the anime from this season, and Suisei no Gargantia is quite easily my favorite so far. It's one of those animes I just get so absorbed in, that it feels like only a few minutes have passed by the time the episode is over. The list of animes that were like that for me are very few in number. Quite fond of Yahari Ore no Seishun and Hataraku Maou-sama, too. It's also always quite nice to see animes of manga I scanlate with my group. Though at the same time, it means I'm going to get bugged to get Hentai Ouji and Crime Edge chapters released quicker... Currently Airing Anime - Sorien - 2013-04-14 Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko was definitely the anime I was most anticipating for this season, and that first episode did a pretty great job with catching everything I love about the manga! I especially like how they finished the episode with Youto's "confession," that thing really sets the mood for the rest of the first arc. Currently Airing Anime - ElTwice - 2013-04-14 DeSu2 A 1&2: Still no joe honk but so far i like it even tough well it is quite different from the game. Currently Airing Anime - JoeTang - 2013-04-14 I think I've finally watched at least one episode of everything that's airing. Damn Railgun and Hentai Ouji airing so late into the month. Also, pineapple MAL for using PST or whatever the pineapple as the time zone for deciding when the date changes. Pisses me off each time. Aiura: For a short, I found this to be quite good. Had some laughs, 5 minutes well spent, surprised it had an OP and an ED. Better than everything last season except Yama no Susume. Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge: I felt episode one was incredibly weak. All you learn is Iwai may be delusional, and that Kiri has some fierce fetish problems. It really did not express much of the plot or characters very well, other than Kiri panting heavily as he pressed his face against her window. Episode two was significantly better, and I could hardly tell I was watching the same show. If possible, it would have flowed better had they included more of the story explanation in episode one. After episode one, you're left with Killing Goods may or may not exist, Kiri may or may not be a pervert, Byouinzaka-shimai may or may not be murderers. Episode two really drew a lot out of the characters, showing Iwai's adaptation to society, as well as Yamane's significant dependance on Houko, and Houko's nature towards her. Also, that injection scene, from the OP got me pretty hard, but I was diamonds after the scene near the end. God damn. Date A Live First off, fake Kotori is such a HNNNNNGGGGGGGGG imouto. It was too perfect. I died. Episode one left a good impression. That being said, the overall plot is far too ridiculous. The gal-ge aspects with the choices, including him actually saying the wrong ones, and having Tohka react to it in such a way... Trying to understand how they've come to the conclusion to "date her" to save the world is a bit mindboggling. If there is a better reason than "everything looks better when you're in love", they should really emphasize it sooner. I'm not looking forward to if/when they add more spirits. Devil Survivor 2: It feels too gamey. i.e. I know how to do everything because I was told in the instruction manual. Story progression didn't seem natural at a few points. I felt this way about Persona 4 too. Everyone other than Kamiya Hiroshi and Sawashiro Miyuki is worthless. Big boss dude is creepy as pomegranate megalomaniac. Not sure if this is worth keeping around for me. Haiyore Nyarlko-san W: Oh my god this is amazing. I was eating when the Lucky Star references popped up and I choked. The magic circle transformation had such amazing quality to it. The initial scenes with sexy Nyarlko hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg Asumi Kana. This is quite the fantastic show, every bit as good as season one. Also BLEH at the OreShura collaboration. Hataraku Maou-sama! Is anyone else bothered by their language? It annoys me. Emilia is pretty cute, but at the same time, far from dere ever. But she'll warm up =] Pretty interesting plotline overall. I can't help but feel the homosexual tension between the dudes though. I'd like to see some more screen time of the junior at MgRonalds, and then the confrontation with Emi. Looking forward to more of this show. It has a certain different pacing that I've missed, I'm not sure what it is though. Hayate no Gotoku! Cuties: It was bothering me a bit seeing how familiar this looked, and sure enough, the story was from some previous chapters; however, the setting is placed after Can't Take My Eyes Off You, which is to say, pineapple continuity. Horrid animation quality. Acceptable funnies. Wouldn't hold my breath for anything exception, except maybe Hina's episode. Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.: This is a crime. All that Ogura Yui emotion. Stripped away. Stolen. Robbed. Kantoku has the most amazing character designs, especially for flat chests =D I think this story is quite great, but I feel that it may get tiresome with Tsukiko not showing emotion, especially when I want to hear Ogura Yui emote so hard. Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride: I had forgotten how deviant the first season ended up being. The first half felt like it was rather more focused on the story and unique art style, but then suddenly, nipples. I think they're doing quite a great job as a fanservice show. It's not too disgustingly blatant. The dark samurai are interesting, and it doesn't stress too important of a conflict where they can't have fun, but at the same time, I ask where this is going... and the answer is more service. Sasuke... Not sure about that. Musashi is pretty great. Dat moemoekyunkyun~ I'm sad Charles is gone so fast. I hope she makes it back in because Koshimizu Ami is amazing. Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawai Wake ga Nai.: Where is Kuroneko ._. Episode two had a lot stronger impression on me than episode one. The expressions they were making as they played that game... :3 dat yandere Ayase. Like a dream come true. Photokano: Okay. So. Is it just me. Or like. Does that really tall guy... creep anyone else out... a lot? Episode one left a really good impression. They had some great shots with the camera perspective, especially with Nonoka. That was brilliantly well done with the softball pitch into . I hope to see more of her and Hikari. Saito Chiwa, Mizuhashi Kaori <3333 Sawashiro Miyuki in this is too depressing... and that raging lesbian vibe from the crying is just too strong. I can't shake it, regardless of their intention. This show has such an amazing cast lined up, I really hope they use that more powerfully. I am however turned off by the idea of the photography club, and wish he had joined the photo club instead.Red Data Girl: This is the type of protagonist I despise. Someone who just stands there helpless and waits to be saved. Augh. It's so annoying. My impressions thus far is this is Child Abuse: The Animation. So much angst. So much useless. Also, Wamiya creeps me the pomegranate out. They should really explain in more detail what everything is instead of making the clueless protagonist seem even more stupid than she already does. Shingeki no Kyojin: Looking forward to seeing everyone die, etc. Suisei no Gargantia: This show is by far the best thing I've seen this season. The only thing that I disliked was the solo combat with the camera revolving, and circles just radiating where the explosions were. I think the overall concept and implementation of the space battle was magnificent though. It seems a lot of people don't understand the idea that they're travelling thousands of kilometers, approaching from behind a planet (moon?) to attack an enormous colony of these space mollusks. Gee, I wonder what direction they could possibly go in if not a straight line from the shortest distance where they have cover and a retreat path. The use of German seems a bit unnecessary, though I suppose their efficiency would survive to the darkest depths of space. I would also like to point out that when Ledo engaged in the solo-fight, how he was suddenly overpowered compared to those things, it was likely a mode that consumes a significant amount of power, with high requirements of everything from the pilot and suit, and possible risk of friendly-fire if any ally units were moving nearby. Not to mention the significant amount of overkill that would occur, wasting more power if several units were to engage a large number of targets. The overall depiction of the situation when he woke up was quite brilliant. The use of differing languages was kept brief and to the point, illustrating the situation, but not detracting from it like I felt in Hataraku Maou-sama. The running through hallways, with the twists and turns felt really lively. I find those scenes to usually be quite corny, but I suppose having the BluRay work makes it extra special. The scene when he breached the surface of the ship was truly breathtaking, coming to the realisation that they are indeed on Earth. Episode two really painted a vibrant picture of their world, showing many scenes of the Gargantia, with the civilians participating in their everyday life, showing the markets and such, as well as the wings with Amy. It posed a certainly believable stance of distrust towards the information and scenario from the leaders of the ship, as well as their possible courses of action; really reminiscent of similar stories of modern day people thrown back in time. The final scene with him eliminating targets sets a really strong tone going into episode three, where they'll likely fear him, and he'll have to cope with further distrust, and hate. I also expect a space snail to be in the wreckage, and he'll save them from it, gaining their trust again. The overall tone of the OP and ED (which are really amazing by the way) doesn't really spell gloom and doom though, but that may come in a second season or perhaps a movie, which I hope occurs. I know this is pretty far off, but they've painted such a brilliant world. Also, Naruko Hanaharu is such an amazing artist. The design for Amy and Bellows are so sexy. Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S: YES. THIS IS RAILGUN. Finally. Looking forward to seeing them catch up to the manga and merge into/past Index possibly. Really great first episode. It caught everything that Railgun is about, between Saten looking up Uiharu's skirt, Kuroko's raging lesbianism, and Mikoto shooting coins at people. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru.: This show had really strong execution in episode one, but I felt episode two lacking. I'm rather tired of seeing chuunibyou garbage, after so many seasons of it now. It's especially bad when it's a fat dude. Yui's happy-go-lucky personality really just sticks well, especially with the troubled approach seen in episode two, and Yukino's serious, I'm better than you is great. It feels a lot better than Haganai, which has a very similar theme. Hachiman is a pretty cool dude. Just needs to grow a stronger pair. I liked the bear essay. hah. Looking forward to seeing some YukinoxYui from Summer Comiket. drool Yuyushiki: I have to say, this had quite a great feel to it. A very nice slice-of-life comedy moe series that replaces things like GJ-bu from last season. Zetta Bouei Leviathan: What am I doing here. I hope there's more to this. Their dragon transformations are a bit creepy to be honest. Not that cute to me. Yeah... I really hope there's more to this... Great cast though... Currently Airing Anime - madanthony - 2013-04-14 So is anyone giving Aku no Hana a shot? After episode two, I'm still having a hard time with the rotoscoping. There were a few weird moments that felt like cliche rips of standard school life scenes that made me laugh from how out of place they were. Aside from that, the sum total of this show's parts are actually so creepy, awkward, and uncomfortable that I have a hard time watching. Yet it's just enticing enough that I still feel the need to finish the episode. And I guess that's exactly what the manga author wanted? So kudos to them for having a show so good at making me not want to watch it that I want to watch it. Also, dat ED. It's perfect. So very perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leeWLZFYEFg AND I WENT AND GOT TITAN SPOILED. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. WHY DID I HOVER OVER THAT LITTLE LINE?!?!?!!? WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Currently Airing Anime - Foxino - 2013-04-15 Just watched episode one of Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko and oh boy.. laughed all the way though it amazing can't wait for next weeks episode other than that I haven't really been watching anything else. DATE A LIVE episode 3 doesn't seem to be subbed yet I might check some other sites to see if it's around oh then lastly I started watching DEVIL SURVIVOR 2 : The animation I'm on episode two and the story seems pretty neat haha. Well there's naruto I guess lol. Which surprisingly was a very touching episode for a filler, one of the best episodes this year in my opinion. As far as the rotoscoping goes, I've pretty much abandoned the mindset that "this is an anime" and I'm treating it as a live action. It's easier to do that when you see real portraits of the actors. The anime sets up a great atmosphere and great character conflict which I hope persists through out the series. I keep reminding myself that I've gotten used to characters designs like Shiki's and anything involving CLAMP, and I'll get used to these as well. Cool picture of the actors. Currently Airing Anime - Razmos - 2013-04-18 Dansai Bunri No Crime Edge episode 3: A really good episode, glad I gave this show a chance after it's rather poor first episode. Iwai is adorable. The scene where he stays over was very funny, and the whole school thinking they are having a lewd affair, haha. The hair-stroking scene was borderline hentai. voting "The Sledgehammer of Crushing Disintegration" for best name of a weapon ever. who knew Scissor based combat could be so cool? Currently Airing Anime - madanthony - 2013-04-18 Vulvarave the Code Geass Body Swapping Space Nazi Power Ranger Gundam Vampires is going to be the best trainwreck ever. Guilty Crown, Eureka Seven AO? Eat your hearts out. This is the trite, stupid, completely enjoyable action show I've been longing for. We've already got characters coming back from what should have been death, robot harakiri, gg pineappleing around with their subs, an MC who goes from stone-cold vengeance killer to whiny peach at the flip of a switch... it's hard to express my childish glee for this pomegranatestorm.
/a/ Theorizing
Time will tell, but the world is ready for the next Code Geass. Based SUNRISE, amen. Edit: I want to believe.
Currently Airing Anime - ElTwice - 2013-04-19 DeSu2 ep3: honk daichi being scaredy cat as usual and well nothing much to say because it is going to be spoilers and i havent learned how to use them.
