@Above No pressure dude, play at your own pace. Congratulations nonetheless!

Oh I just noticed what Dark Link said, sorry I tend to check this site like once a week now so I don't really memorize anyone's name except who I already know. But an achievement is still an achievement and shouldn't go unnoticed, shall it? I'm not that big of a jerk.

They haven't announced any nerfs to Whimsyshire. Although, the mobs already hit truckloads in single player so I doubt anything they'd do there could possibly change OHKO from anything.

IIRC, there were a couple confirmations from the Reddit AMAA about that place come 1.0.3.
Hell Whimsyshire = Hell A4 drop table
Inferno Whimsyshire = Inferno A3/A4 drop table

Yes, the mobs in Inferno Whimsyshire will be nerfed and drop more loot as well.

Oh, no doubt about it. It just gets to me that most of the negativity about "Nerferno" are people who play one of the two classes who can solo Inferno effectively and are pretty much telling everyone else to "L2P or quit".
I didn't mean to bring you into the group. It was just coincidental that you didn't like the incoming nerfs and you happened to play a DH.

94% magic find on top of all this gear. Let's a-go, Nightmare mode!

I'd really advise you against combining gems, you'll be able to find the higher rank ones easily from monsters in the next Act and it saves you a truck load of gold that is better spent elsewhere (*cough*AH*cough*). Unless you are somehow against using the AH, there's really no reason to use the blacksmith, jeweler or merchants. My trash drops go straight to the merchant.
I was dirt poor on my character until I realized this, then suddenly I started getting much more money and better equips O.o

Diablo3 class thread - Dark Link - 2012-06-08

And we cannot forget that the cost of upgrading gems gets slaughtered in 1.0.3.

I needed some gems better than regular, so I decided to pay the jeweler a visit. Then Zenkat later entered my game and game me a handful of sqaure Rubies and Amethysts. xD

In other news, we've just reached Hell on our 3-man group. Really liking the Barb gameplay, we are a DH, a monk and a barb. It's funny how sometimes the glass cannon DH died, the monk too and I held up against a huge mob that obscured the vision of my character while still staying alive ^^

So far I'm enjoying playing Barb a lot more than Wizard, even if it's more gear dependent.

why is it bad that theyre reducing combine costs up to the point where u stop being able to find them as drops?
with current costs its almost dumb to even hoard anything but flawless square, much less combine them up... i have 12 or 16 wasted stash slots of squares right now ><

they arent touching the higher ranks.

I never said it was bad. There's no point in "upgrading" gems right now, because the costs are getting massively cut down. Why spend 20,000 gold for a Flawless gem right now, when you can wait a week or two and have that cost reduced to 200 gold and require one less gem?
I'm kind of in the same boat. I have a huge amount of gems just sitting in my stash and I'm waiting for 1.0.3 so I can convert them all to Square and Flawless for 1/10th the cost.

Dual weapons alternate attacking with each weapon while increasing ASPD by 15%, most of the times it's not worth it, because you normally end up having one weapon much stronger than the other. If you are going to play with other players before 1.0.3 hits you'll appreciate having a shield so you can tank mobs for your group. Otherwise Nightmare isn't really hard solo, just get the weapon with the most DPS you can find.

A big chunk of the game's effectiveness revolves around how people play their characters. Multiplayer is obviously not the place for melee classes, but every class has pretty much beaten all of inferno. 97% of the community still isn't in Inferno yet either. I would've opted to change the effectiveness armor works on melee perhaps so that they could survive hits from mobs. I don't know how I'll feel about being able to tank hits in Inferno now past Act 1 but whatever. :l

Multiplayer excluding melees is not a good thing, and being able to survive inferno is something to be expected. They already take 30% less damage than other classes.

I've taken a very good liking to having a shield. I'm pretty much unkillable so far. The only time I came close to dying was from Diablo himself, and that was mainly because I was still using 1k healing potions instead of the best ones I had available at the time.

And yet ironically they still do far worse than ranged in terms of progression. :V

2h is beast mode until late Hell, then you have to go "Sword and Board" or fear getting owned in the face Sad

I kind of hope the changes to Inferno can allow Barbs to stay 2h throughout all of Inferno without the need to farm A3/4 Inferno gear.

Wot, every Barb I know is using 2h. Did I miss something? Monks I see using shields, but every Barb I know uses high DPS 2h Spears. Does the damage factor differently between 2h and 1h? I know that the difference in attack speeds gives one an advantage over the other but I don't know if damage multiplies the same per point of damage to main stat.

@Shidoshi, I'm not sure I'm following you. What I said was that armor should multiply more for melee classes since they're up front. While they're at it, they could re-do dodge formulas as well because capping at lvl60 means that our Dodge rate chance is pretty minimal given the monster levels in Inferno.

You mean poles? Aren't all spears 1H?

2H should definitely give some sort of bonus to dodge or something to offset the lack of blocking (and stats on a shield).

I think 2h has a higher damage modifier compared to 1h / Dual Wield. I never really figured out the full details myself.
I never see 2h Barbs unless they're rather funded with A3/4 Inferno Gear. They go Sword and Board until then, then they go super ultra 200k+ DPS ownage.

The way dual wielding works is that you get the passive effects of both weapons, such as STR and VIT boost, Fury increase, etc. The DPS per weapon though is only applied when you strike with that weapon. So let's say your range with weapon 1 is 20k and with weapon 2 its 17k. When you hit with weapon 2, you'll deal slightly less damage because that weapon's got different stats and in this case, is inferior to weapon 1. If you use a shield you get every bonus the shield gets. Works the same with Monks who DW daggers/maces/fist weapons and for Demon Hunters who DW 1h Crossbows. And Yes I think Polearms @^^^^ wasn't entirely sure but that.

Dual wielding also gives you a 15% attack speed bonus.
