Marksman Bryan Wrote:After thoroughly cleaning (pineappleing mops and moving pomegranate around to get all the corners) my dorms common area 4 times, and it managing to get worse and worse every time, I decided to conduct an experiment of my own.

Someone ordered food a while ago - wings or something - and left their garbage on top of my printer.

I placed the bag in the center of the common area, in hopes of seeing how long it would take someone to move it (lol yeah right throw it away).

Day 8 - no progress.

WELCOME TO DORM LIFE!
Sorry to hear that :/

How was your day? - Arcanine - 2013-04-05

My day wasn't very good. Hurt

I work in retail, and occasionally have work days that begin with long phone calls from angry customers complaining about things that I had absolutely nothing to do with, or correcting orders that I had no involvement in whatsoever. Alas, today at work I got a call around 9:00 AM from a customer who was complaining about how a $600 Serta mattress he ordered didn't come with a cheap little blanket he saw advertised somewhere. After searching frantically for rebate forms and waiting for the old computers to load, I told him that I'm trying as hard as I can to help him get his blanket, and that I just have to wait for the page to load in our system so I can check the rebates. He told me that I'm just wasting his and the delivery crew's time (since they had arrived at his house for setup at that time) and that he's going to just cancel the order because the mattress didn't include a blanket. Tongue

He began ranting and swearing at me, and I was told repeatedly that I'm worthless, incompetent, a waste of time and space, and that I'm just a dumb kid who doesn't deserve to be paid for my work. I apologized and told him that I'm doing everything I can possibly do within my power to make sure he gets a blanket, but he hung up on me. When the page finally loaded, it turned out that the rebate had expired in November and was valid for the iSeries, which the model that he ordered wasn't. The whole fiasco took nearly an hour, and left me with a sinking feeling of worthlessness and depression for the rest of the day.

I just heard that my grandma was involved with a hit-and-run situation. Luckily, she got transported to the hospital where my dad works at.

Hoping for the best.

So my ex and me got into another messed up fight. Long story short, I'm crying.

Attempted to go and see Evil Dead at midnight but it was sold out so we saw Jurassic Park 3D instead (we went all that way!).

Meh.

I'd have enjoyed it a lot more if it was just remastered instead of 3D.

More FPS nerd problems:

Shot 50% in skill-matched team instagib (Other averages were also around 50%) for highest match accuracy. The next game I shot 37%, highest match accuracy that game was 60%. Aaaaand then I decided to go to sleep.

I agree, the 3d gimmick just isn't worth it, half the time I walk out with a headache :|

My macro teacher (who is a undergraduate chem major who can barely speak english) picked me out in the middle of class and yelled at me for being on my laptop doing homework for that class which was on material a chapter behind what she was doing in class.

Excuse me, peach. The only reason I come to your fucking class is because you take attendance. Pretty sure I'd be able to read the fucking slides that you didn't even make better than you.

There were at least 5 kids around me that were on facebook.

What pisses me off is that she immediately assumed I don't understand the material. She asked a question to the class (after ignoring the other kids on their laptops) about budget deficit, and like 6 kids in the front row (ie paying attention) said that the deficit increases during an economic expansion.

Ok. Ignoring the fact that SHE SAID THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN like 10 times the last slide, why in the pineapple would that make any sense??? And you're yelling at ME acting like the laptop is distracting me from learning? Yeah pineapple you and your attendance I'm not going to your class anymore.

//unnecessarily angry

Depends what the expansion is following. The expansion following a recession is usually associated with deficit spending. This is an interesting time to be learning economics.

Good laptop is messed up because either the pin in the power cable is broken or the pin in the port where I plug power into the laptop is broken. Because of this, I have to do my final econometrics assignment in less than 48 hours.

I should have clarified - the two slides before were graphs of similar trends between recessions/deficit. The question was asking about those graphs specifically.

Roommate brought a girl back at like 4 am. I got no sleep. Obviously I tried pretending I was asleep, but they didn't even try to be quiet. Ugh.

Then you have people like the ones in my program. Only there because they got rejected from the business program.

It's a logn story but essentially

>Guy tries to rape girl he fell in love through friends with benefit thing
>Girl escapes, other guys find him
>Rapist throws punch, hits guy, guy attempts to hit back as he runs away
>Guy who got hit tackles him and beats the pineapple out of him

...at 4am.

I'm totally against this whole "Rape victim asking for it", but this girl was pineappleing asking for it, she might as well had a sign on her face saying pineapple me after the alcohol and weed.

I confided in my crush about wondering if I should become friends again with my ex.
"If you have to think about it, then you should do it."

Still felt uneasy so I brought up my friend whom he almost had something with until it backfired on him:

"u dont see me going: should i refriend her?
i was like, im done. b'itch is gone. I dont wonder about that s'hit. cause i dont have time for it. LOL"

And therein lies the answer.

When I was at work today, I came across a rag doll bunny, which I initially mistook for a piece of rubbish. Albeit being tarnished and dirty, it was cute and I could tell that it was well loved by its owner. I assumed that a small child must have left it behind, and could relate to that feeling from when I was young. I brought it to the safe where we keep lost items, and told the HR employees to take good care of it, and absolutely make sure it stays until it returns to its owner. After wrapping it carefully in a small blanket and placing it in the safe, I went back to work.

Three hours later, a man approached me asking if I happened to have found a bunny in the vicinity. He was a bit rugged-looking and possibly poor, and had an almost hopeless kind of expression on his face and sad look in his eyes. I then remembered the rag doll bunny that I found, described it to him, and told him I kept it in a safe place until its owner would arrive. He confirmed to me that it belongs to his four-year-old daughter, it's her best friend, and that she can't sleep without it. I retrieved the bunny from the safe, and returned it to the man. As I handed him the doll, he placed a $20 bill in my hand and turned to walk away. I tried giving it back to him, and told him that I don't need money, and I don't want to take this, but he simply smiled and replied "I know" and walked off. After the store closed I heard a few employees talking about "an annoying lady looking for a bunny" and the sarcastic responses they gave her. It must have really meant a lot to them.

As I reflect on this day, I'm not sure how to feel or what to think of it. Things could have turned out much differently if someone else were to have found the doll. I'm glad that it found its way back to its friend.

So I got a call around 6am in the morning that my good friend got hit by a driver while he was biking. Moments after, I see a van outside my house with his family and my friends. So we get there, and we find out he has a broken leg and a concussion with some bleeding. At least he wasn't fatally injured, thank god.

Bottom-line, I spent most of the day in his room letting him watching MLP off my laptop to entertain him, and throughout the day people kept on coming in and out of the room. Unfortunately... my ex had to show up about an hour ago. So she pulled me out of the room, and...things happened. Just...things. Bleh. What a day. And on top of that, I didn't do jack squat all weekend. Just as planned.

Almost T-Boned a car that ran a red light about an hour ago. The driver is lucky as hell that I have good reflexes and was going about the speed limit, or his car would have been slammed hard.

Going off of my last post:

The bag is gone from the middle of the room. I assume it's somewhere in here:

That was my desk. I kept it clean, but it happens to be next to the recycling bin (which apparently is indistinguishable from a garbage can), so this happens.
Note that I don't use the common room. I try not to look around when I leave/enter.
Not entirely sure why we have a huge bag of crushed cans. Just showed up one day lol

I'm assuming you live in on campus housing with RAs and such. My best suggestion would be to speak with your RA about the cleanliness of your roommate. Mention how its affecting your studying and you are afraid that it could lead to sickness.
