Starbound [Winter Update!] - Dark Link - 2013-12-08 Starbound [Winter Update!] - Razmos - 2013-12-08 I've found Human, Apex, Avian and Floran dungeons, and also Glitch and Avian cities. I found an Avian Pirate Ship, they sell guns. and an Apex Brainwashing Plant, which had a bunch of mutants and Apex in robotic wheelchairs. On one of the planets I found a mine-shaft which was a full blown dig expedition, with tents and crates, it went down quite far. There was nothing really of note in it, but it was an interesting location. I found a planet with a bunch of different towers, each containing a Wizard Glitch, who sold Wizard Hats. I've ran into some of the mini biomes too, like Geometric, Mushroom, Ice Sphere ect. As I mentioned before, I found a snowman too who gave me a cool hat when I destroyed it. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Reako - 2013-12-08 I found something above even plutonium in the depths of a large threat level 40 moon: Solarium. That stuff gives 8 fuel per bit, and like uranium and plutonium, can be smelted into rods... which don't seem to do anything yet. Hmm. As for dungeons!

Starbound [Winter Update!] - Dark Link - 2013-12-08 Don't know how long this has been up, but it's another update for tomorrow's patch! http://playstarbound.com/other-bits-and-pieces-coming-with-the-balance-update/ Quote:So the big balance update is coming really soon, Starbound [Winter Update!] - Razmos - 2013-12-09 If you guys find any amazing locations and stuff, you can just post the co-ordinates, since they are the same for everyone. Even stuff in treasure chests is the same for everyone. For example, I used these co-ordinates someone on the starbound forums posted: Quote:-1444486, -34877301 (Alpha Kyatz System)And I found an Avian Pirate Ship and a chest with 5 diamonds there, the exact same as the poster. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Reako - 2013-12-09 In that case, courtesy of youtube... If you have access to the 4th tier, aka Sector X, go to x= -62079115 y= -97499093 Gamma Naos Majoris II, Arid, Level 33 You'll find a real treat

Starbound [Winter Update!] - Dark Link - 2013-12-09 There's also a subreddit devoted to interesting planet finds and whatnot. I've used it a few times already to get techs and other stuff. http://www.reddit.com/r/StarboundPlanets/ EDIT: The "Balance reset" patch has been delayed until tonight / tomorrow morning. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Ryukiroku - 2013-12-09 Some info from Tiy about the balances so far and creature capturing: http://pastebin.com/f6YqE0GY Tiy Wrote:(Mon, 06:19:51P) @Tiy: all weapons configured! Starbound [Winter Update!] - Razmos - 2013-12-09 Quote:(Mon, 06:23:24P) @Tiy: you lower certain monsters to lower than 50% healthMy, that sounds familiar. I'm actually quite disappointed in the way they are handling this particular aspect of the update. Not being able to put monsters back in their capsules unless they die sounds like a massive pain in the ass. I would much prefer it if they would have delayed the pet system and fixed it rather than releasing it half-finished and broken just because they can. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Jon - 2013-12-09 Razmos Wrote:My, that sounds familiar. But if they've finished something and it's remotely usable, it can still be beta tested. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Razmos - 2013-12-09 Jon Wrote:But if they've finished something and it's remotely usable, it can still be beta tested.True, but they could have done it a later date when they had that particular problem fixed, because anyone testing it now will have to put up with the annoying task of getting their pets killed every time they want to move planets, which is unnecessary and could have been avoided. It'll be annoying to test it as it is. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Polantaris - 2013-12-09 I have to agree with Razmos. If they had just simply forgotten that that action would be needed, that's a different story (slipped the mind, basically), but he openly admitted to it missing, so I have to agree that they should just postpone the addition of it until they fix it. I mean...it would probably be the next update anyway so it's not a big deal if they wait a day or two. There's a database of Lord of the Rings Online .abc tracks, but not all of them work with this game. So far, I've got files of Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy 1 music to work. What you do is go to http://www.lotro-abc.com and find a track you want to try, then copy it to notepad and save it as an .abc file and put it in Starbound's music file, which for most people with be in Steam/steamapp/common/starbound/assets/music Starbound [Winter Update!] - Dark Link - 2013-12-09 http://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/1siepw/update_from_omnis_live_stream_patch_coming_tonight/ Yes it's been mentioned that the patch would either be tonight or tomorrow morning, but seems like it's 100% confirmed for tonight! Quote:Q: Is the patch out yet? Starbound [Winter Update!] - Reako - 2013-12-09 Me testing various .abc music files

EDIT: 11:25pm PST, STARBOUND PATCH IS LIVE! Restart Steam for it to kick in! The patch is 753.4MB big. EDIT 2: Damage scaling is massively screwed up for All T2 and beyond CRAFTED weapons. They are doing 20-25+ times their intended damage value. The T10 weapons should do 4000 DPS, but they're doing 800k - 1mil DPS. The T2 crafted weapons are able to do 5000+ DPS, when they should be doing 200+ DPS. Apparently T3 weapons have 15k+ DPS. Those are obviously the future cash shop weapons, perfectly scrolled and cubed. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Razmos - 2013-12-10 Just started playing again, I can't say much about equipment scaling, but the monster scaling is already proving to be an absolute peach to me. On my new characters starting planet I was fighting monsters that could hit 15 damage per attacks, and one enemy that hit me for 45 damage. considering the measly 100 health we have, and how they are going to increase in damage, I'm not looking forward to being slaughtered in one-sided fights like this. EDIT: right, no. This is starting to piss me off. I've got the best armour available for tier 1, and enemies are still doing 15-50 damage with every hit, shields aren't working at all anymore, and now I take the exact same damage regardless of my armour or shield. Enemies either have that stupid pineappleing dash attack or the body slam jumping attack, both of which are pineappleing annoying to avoid, and I ALWAYS get hit at least once by every single enemy I encounter, which quickly adds up. I can't explore very far without running into a group of 4 enemies and losing all my HP in one fight. It's basically a matter of spamming bandages after EVERY single encounter with a monster. it's a massive drain on resources. So annoying. EDIT: And when you DO kill enemies that are flying or jumping, with a melee weapon, they fall on your head and do damage ANYWAY! They seriously need to take a better look at Melee combat, it's such bullshit, especially during the early levels where all you have is melee weapons, it's frustrating as hell. Starbound [Winter Update!] - Dark Link - 2013-12-10 The armor gives +HP, +Energy, and +Energy Regen now, in addition to defense. Also, there MAY or MAY NOT be another character wipe to fix the weapon damage scaling. Quote:Changelog for v. Frustrated Koala 10/12/2013 |
