Any idea what stats a warrior glove would need to beat a 17 Att SCG in terms of STR? I'd really like to upgrade to a level 100-120 glove but I'm not sure how to go about it. Rolleyes

1/ Get total WATK value
2/ Estimate new gloves' ATK value
3/ Calculate:
(Old Gloves' WAtk - New Gloves' WAtk)/Total WAtk = %Str needed to cover

For example, my total atk is 161 (I think). My new gloves can aim to have about 8atk, that leaves 4 more atk to catch up with my old 12atk gloves. 4atk/161atk = 2.484% dmg
=> a pair of 8atk 3%str gloves will outdo my old 12atk gloves.

Tips:
- The more Total WATK you have, the less significant 1WAtk is, compared with 1% str, of course.

I ended up just having a spreadsheet for comparison.

Turns out that 9 atk 5 str 2 dex 3% str is almost equal to my 15 atk SCG, for now anyway (on regular pots). Each % str is worth about 1.8 times a w.atk, cause I have 180~ atk and only +9% str.

With Onyx Apples it's easier, the same glove otherwise would only need 7 atk to match up.

At the moment I have 224 Weapon Att (-17 att from Glove if needed.) I'm actually quite terrible with math and such, so, would either of you mind helping me out in estimating what stats I would need. x)

- 11atk gloves + 3% Str, or
- 5atk gloves + 6% Str, or
- 0atk gloves + 9% Str

would match your current SCG (approximately, rounded down so the bare minimum will still be higher than your old range). Anything higher will give a plus. You have to account for the % Str bonus on your SCG as well though. Subtract them from the new gloves' %Str bonuses, or post the bonuses here.

Ah, sweet deal! I figured it would be more of a pain to match it but it's actually a lot less than I expected. I think I'll aim for the second option. I have really bad luck with 60%s.

Hypothesis talk:

Though if you consider cubing your SCG, it could come up with 2%/4%/6%, so the 100~120 gloves will only have 1%/2%/3% advantage over it.

That means the 100~120 gloves will have to be 11atk to be worth cubing (to become 11atk + 9% Str) OVER the 17atk 6% Str SCG (Unique, first line only).

If it's not 11atk+, it's better to just cube the SCG for 6% Str.

more hypothesizing:

a 120 glove cubed to unique also nets you decent SE, which you can then recube for the 9% str. cubing a rare scg to unique requires the same expected amount of cubes. quantifying decent SE's boost to your overall damage isnt something i have time to calculate out right now, but i think its safe to say a 5-8 att 120 glove + 9% str and use of decent SE will easily outdamage your scg in any bossing situation. for regular training decent SE makes damage more unreliable, but at least doesnt subtract anything.

Passed another potential for 3 lines, makes me happy not to have to replace this bastard.

Hasn't had a strong effect on the glove that could replace my 15 SCG though - 3% 9 atk, or 6% 4 atk, would do it.

Nice job on the skirt! I plan on doing mine eventually. My overall is 38 Str 9% Str, 3% All Stats, 6% Int atm though, so I'm not sure if I really want to Cube/scroll a top and bottom set for the possibility of it being better than my overall. (Undecided. QQ)

By the way Stereo, how did you change your MapleStory font? It looks pretty. Big Grin

Also, to add onto my earlier conversation. My SCG's only ended up 2 lines, so there's not much in terms of potential there...(At least nothing I would consider to be good enough for end game.)

I've been considering the Decent Sharp Eyes skill, but I'm wondering how good it actually is considering I rarely train anymore, and now that Time Temple is ruined I couldn't train even if I wanted to (Skeles can blow me.).

Meh... he also has 10k more hp than me (with HB). Why compare to someone who's used 200k+ NX on washing.

I have proportionally almost the same str as him (1225 with MW30, add 10 levels and that'd be 1295) but I'm not gonna say my 10k+ range is nooby >_> It cost me a lot of money to have so much str.
