If they make it to the next island without jinbei, then I'll believe he refused.
Most (all?) of the crew members refused at some point, either before they joined or partway through. So I'm not quite convinced yet.

But he didn't say no outright, he deferred.
I have no doubts at this point he'll join, but as has been said before in this thread he is honorable and won't ditch his prior commitments to himself or others to go adventuring. Besides, Luffy already agreed to Jinbe's plan of "ask me later." Unless Jinbe somehow finishes his business between everyone passing out after the party and the Straw Hats leaving the next day, I don't think he'll be joining them next arc.

Rereading, I think a lot of things were revealed in this chapter subtly. Like Sanji and Zoro both might be able to use haki, as the three of them were able to sense Caribou.

I'm expecting and possibly hoping that Big Momma is actually Lola's mom. Remember when Lola gave Luffy her mom's Vivre Card? She said her mom was a famous captain in the New World if Luffy ever wanted to find her. Big Momma might really fit the description well. Besides, her silhouette makes it clear she's ugly, like Lola and Kokoro ugly. Definitely fit to be Lola's mom.
Besides, I want to see the Straw Hats finally move on, not hang around for a whole new set of fights- there just wouldn't be sufficient enough exposition for the fights. I would describe this as a moment maybe closer to Aokiji coming in after Luffy won the Davy Back fight. The only thing is, Luffy just can't lose right now. It would undermine the progress that the Straw Hats have made over the timeskip, in my opinion. If we had Luffy meet Big Momma and if she really is Lola's mother, we'll probably see Big Momma as an ally for Luffy and decide not to wreck up the island as a friendly gesture to Luffy.

I could see big mamma/luffy/shanks allying up against blackbeard and kaido(ithinkthatsthelastone). Kaido would probably want to kill luffy just because luffy is related to the whitebeards per Ace lol
