I guess "nothing happened" again in your opinion, since im the first one to reply.
I still got mixed feeling about the speed of this arc. There is a lot of material to draw it out as there's 1 contest +4 battles every day, however Mishima took longer introducing Hidden than going through it.
Its a big ridiculous that from 108 teams Fairy tail manages to clasify 2 and people still considers it weak sauce.

Grey's match was more about strategy than about power like this one is, so unless the second origin would have made Grey smarter, it seems logical it didn't give him any advantage.
OT: Here I was hoping the tournament turned out to be just that, a tournament, but I guess it was obvious there is more to it. It really sucks that Raven tail is dirty playing Fairy Tail. If Raven Tail gets another match in a row against Fairy tail, I'd be pretty sure they are in league with the organizers or whoever is working for Zeref. Mark my words when I say, If Lucy loses the match and gets hurt, I can see Natsu being so pissed off to end his match in an second with a Lightning fire Dragon's Roar.

This. For the looks of it anyone could throw a spell out of the arena and kill half of the terraces with it. One of 3 things might be happening here:
1 - The organizers take as a given the honesty of all participant guilds as none is supposedly a black guiild
2 - They don't give a pineapple as they are more concerned about harvesting the magic energy from the event into that Fruit for Zeref
3 - Raven tail is in match with the organizers.
If Fairy Tail A gets another match in a row against Raven tail. I will lean for the 3rd option.

Like crap? That was the exact opposite impression I got of the fight with Lucy Kerbstomping Corona. That was one of the most unbalanced fights in the entire manga, for all intents and purposes, Lucy would have won that fight without breaking a sweat if Raven Tail didn't cheat ridiculously.

haha I probably should have structured my paragraph my clearly. My explanation is directly AT Fairytail specifically and was referring to storylines in general. This means "in general" the story goes
-major downcast on the main characters, i.e. crap.
-Some event happens to make them look even worse than they really are
- at the end they eventually show everyone up by taking the win and by saving the world, thereby winning the praise and love of the world.
