Yes, his ability allowed him to use the Vortex user's night action, Vortex, so I overrode his by putting him in check. Unfortunately, who he chooses to control is randomly generated, and only a night action is given, no name of afflicted or anything.
I'm assuming the Power quote is in reference to an Archon, a Protoss unit, but I can't be for sure.
