Fitness thread - Rick - 2014-03-21 I did squats and pulled out this: 80x6 90x6 90x5 100x3 100x3 110x2 I can usually pull off more reps than that and then go straight in to deadlifts (which I was told a few days ago by a PT I should NOT do, so I'm gonna stop), and it had been 3 days since my last leg day so I thought I would have recovered. I was quite disappointed in my leg day. I'm doing higher weights than I have ever done before, so should I actually expect to need to rest for longer than 3 days? The time I take between sets is also getting quite a bit longer. I used to have 40 seconds-1minute between each but now I'm getting around the 2 minute mark before I even think about going again. Fitness thread - Hypermug - 2014-04-17 Finally got into a steady routine. Now I need to work harder on my diet (which sucks, I love food too much ;- . I just completed 110 pushups (using the perfect pushups), and I'm about to do a T-25 Beta workout.
Fitness thread - chrome - 2014-04-18 I may have made some friends today. Earlier in the elevator: - BEN enters the elevator from the first floor. Looking inside, he finds three characters, BRO 1, BRO 2, and BRO 3, all wearing striped tank tops (probably from Target) and holding water bottles. I assume they just came from the gym. YOGURT MAN enters elevator holding a bowl of fruit and yogurt plus some Jamba Juice. - BRO 1: That looks good. YOGURT MAN: I know, right? BRO 1: That your pre-workout? YOGURT MAN: Nah man, I worked out this morning. BRO 1: Ahh I see, the anabolic window... - BEN smirks, while everyone else in the elevator chuckles. The elevator stops at the fourth floor and BRO 4 exits. - BRO 2: Lookin' pretty big man, I should start eating at Jamba. BRO 1: Need those gains man, fuaaahhhh. BEN: Fuarkin Zeeeeez, brah. - Everyone in the elevator darts their eyes at BEN, who had been quiet this entire time, and laughs. The elevator stops at the seventh floor and BEN exits. As he leaves, he hears BRO 2 say something. - BRO 2: We're all gonna make it, brah! :') Fitness thread - Imitazion - 2014-04-20 how does this routine look?(I'm looking at you @chrome; ) I am training for strength. I'm best when I'm on a surplus. cutting wont happen for another year. Fitness thread - Netto - 2014-05-05 I started at 223 lbs 5 weeks ago and now I'm at 217. I don't feel any different except for my legs being a bit more chiseled. But my pants size are still a 38 and I still look huge ._. I've changed my diet to be a bit more healthy but I think my main problem is portion sizes. And I've been at 217 for over a week now. I think I'm plateauing and I need to figure out how to end it. Fitness thread - Rick - 2014-05-06 I've kinda lost my way/plateau'd, so I've decided to get some help from the awesome personal trainer at my gym. I want to put more focus on definition in addition to muscle, which is what this guy is perfect for because he's exactly the body type I want and takes no bullsh'it. I'm gonna bring sexy back by getting a sexy back. Day 1 (cropped because I don't like how my hair looks from the back): ![]() I'm not actually gonna do daily updates because that's stupid, but watch this space. Fitness thread - chrome - 2014-05-12 TIME FOR THE FINALS UPDATE
stats
lifts
I definitely feel like I'm going to PR very soon once I test for them again. I've been doing high volume on all of my compound lifts and I've seen a lot of progress with my squat/bench, not so much with my deadlift since I had to take two weeks off after pulling that 450. My last few sessions have all been high volume with varying reps.
work sets for big lifts, all of last week
I'm gonna test for PRs probably after finals, so at the beginning of June. Still not sure if I'm going to cut ever.EDIT: ouuuuu kill em

Fitness thread - chrome - 2014-05-28 5 PLATE DEADLIFT NO BELT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ALSJDQLWUEOQIUWEOUALSJFLQWHROIU video coming soon (I pulled 405 2x6, 425 1x6, 430 2x6, 445 single, 455 single, 475 single before this, and I got 515 up. If I hadn't done those work sets and if I had been wearing a belt I would've gotten more...) EDIT: I DID IT GUYS Fitness thread - chrome - 2014-06-20 Am I the only one who posts here anymore? (Yes Ben you are) I was reading over some old posts I made on other forums. This time last year, my total for powerlifting was around 950. It's 1145 now. Really puts all the work I've been doing into perspective. Some motivation for you guys that haven't been posting: Fitness thread - Fiel - 2014-06-21 I'm still weightlifting. No worries. My bench and deadlift have really increased. Gains are just much slower now than they ever were, and it's only going to get slower. Fitness thread - chrome - 2014-07-01 63 reps with 185 on the bar in 5 minutes help
Fitness thread - Hypermug - 2014-07-07 Still doing T25 and I'm well into the Beta cycle. Down 3 pounds since I started (which is a miracle for me). I've also started running. First day I could only muster 1.5 miles. Second time I did 2.5 in intervals. Going to aim for 3 miles hopefully tomorrow if my legs aren't super sore. Fitness thread - sufian - 2014-07-07 After about a year of very unhealthy eating and 0 exercise I decided it was time to do something about it. Been going to the gym since about April and just been doing cardio. Treadmill, bike and rowing machine. My question is how can i improve my stamina. Even after a few months of going regularly (almost everyday)I struggle running even 1 km in <8 mins and I would like to improve on it. Fitness thread - madanthony - 2014-08-01 Exceeded goals and expectations and held a 13mph pace for a 28 mile bike ride in a hilly area that usually takes me down a peg. Fitness thread - Fiel - 2014-08-04 It's fun to look at my previous posts and realize that I HAVE been growing and improving even though I really don't feel the increases. I'm now up to: DEADLIFT: 315 x 5 (mixed grip - causes fewer callouses) BENCH: 185 x 9 LEG PRESS: 690 x 8 OHP: 100 x 8 Fitness thread - chrome - 2014-08-04 Fiel Wrote:It's fun to look at my previous posts and realize that I HAVE been growing and improving even though I really don't feel the increases.BRUH 3 plate deadlift, congrats! Fitness thread - Raingul - 2014-08-21 Okay so I wanna start like working out some, but idk what to really start out with. I just moved to my college and we have a nice rec center with a lot of stuff, but I've never been to a gym or worked out. I'm just lost at where to start and don't wanna like hurt myself doing something retarded. Also for perspective, I'm 18, weigh 92lbs, and I am 5'6". Thanks, and sorry if this is like the wrong place to ask for this kind of stuff ;w;. Thanks, and sorry if this is like the wrong place to ask for this kind of stuff ;w;.You're male and you weigh 92lbs? Eat A LOT. Maybe you think you eat a lot already, but if you haven't been gaining weight, you're not eating a lot. If you have trouble downing a lot of food just eat really calorie-dense food. Other than that I suck at handing out general advice, but try Simple Science Fitness and r/bodybuilding to get started. Figure out what you want before you dive in to anything. But whatever you do, remember to eat! Fitness thread - Fiel - 2014-08-23 92 pounds and 5'6"? You are dangeously underweight - I mean that's life shortening what you have. Go out and eat some food! A lot of it! |
