That's yet to be seen. It's just team Natsu + Elfman so far. It could go like Naruto and just skip other ppl and focus on the main guys.
You like it but I don't. Mashima is burning ideas so fast that it can start getting repetitive or end the arc or even the manga too soon.

As opposed to his last manga where it dragged on for 36 volumes? A fast unpredictable pace isn't bad. It's practically unheard of in mainstream shonen manga. It keeps things interesting. Burning through ideas is only bad if the author runs out. (coughKUBOhack)
Also of course the main characters have new/strengthened powers. The training wouldn't have mattered otherwise.

Well at least it was already unveiled what happened to Wendy, so we are back to the magic tournament being the main event, at least until another hint of what's the minsterious energy is found.
I enjoyed the chapter but I'm still worried this thing is going too fast.

You forget that half the competition isn't about battle as far as we know. We also don't know how the "second container" upgrade affected the core members, especially lucy. Maybe she can summon all her familiars at once without completely draining everything she's got.

Fairy Tail will be first place no matter how, they have two teams, they could win 20 points every battle stage (if they don't fight themselves but still if they do, they'd just get 10 points no matter the result of the battle) and they can get 1st and 2nd places if they help each other (since they are from the same guild they could just win 18 points each no battle round)...

Haha, awesome twist. Team B and "Mystogan" returning was amazing. Not a bad start. Even more interesting that Raven Tail isn't predictably going to be the source of the "unusual presence," or at least- haven't seen them do it yet.
My guess, but this arc is going to remind me of the Davy Back Fight from One Piece and the Dark Tournament from Yu Yu Hakusho. I'm also going to bet that Hidden doesn't really have to do with stealth and it'll let chunkier characters like Yeager and Narpuding actually be good competitors.

I have my doubts about this. Although it totally makes sense sounds kind of too easy don't you think?

Leo+ Caprico fighting together would be kickass. I can see Natsu being able to hold his Lightning Fire Dragon magic way longer as well, but other than on Natsu and Lucy, I can't imagine what effects second origin may have on the other members. Maybe just stronger and bigger spells.

I can't imagine it made much difference, especially given how they all announced they couldn't believe how much progress they made in a day, but Grey is unsure of how much stronger they actually got from the "second container" upgrade, vs 3 months of full training by Team B.

What a crazy game. Can the copies say or hear anything? When Narupuding called out to Gray before he clobbered him at the end of the chapter, I'm going to bet that's how he was able to tell. It fakes the real Gray out to look or do something that'd gives away that the fact he's real. Suddenly, Narupuding would be able to know who the real Gray is-- that is, assuming that's how the copies work.
