Deus Ex.

Eh... it was ok. I did liked the overall gameplay (<3 RPG-ish stuff), but there are a lot of stuff that are plain outdated. Which is to be expected considering this was made 11 years ago.
/spoiled by modern games.

Bet I would've enjoyed this game a lot more had I played it at least ~8 years ago. Anyway, overall it was an enjoyable game.

ShinkuDragon Wrote:this is old, but i am replaying this game, and i must ask if you played the original 2, i did, and when i got to that cliffhanger of an ending, i was actually happy, the game was waaay too easy, and the only dungeon that really pushed the DS to it's limit and that was real fun, was the last one, everything else could have been solved by a 10 year old kid. then again, this game is the continuation of a game that came 7 years ago.

but the first two had much more plot to them, and difficulty too, the only "truly" difficult battle was the darned wizard from GS2, that guy in GS3 wiped the floor with me before the final boss fight.
then i went in with lolsummonrush :S

but the cliffhanger made me happy, hopefully we will see a better story and better dungeons in GS4, not to mention the cliffhanger MEANS there will be a GS4 (there better be goddarn)

Yeah, I did play 2. Unfortunately it was in my piracy days so I don't have a physical copy (still looking though) and my memory is not the shining example of a spelling bee winner. I tend to just remember the feeling I got from games long term, rather than specific events that happened within them. This often leads me to overrating things I haven't played in a while.

Also, I'm not good with cliffhangers. I try to finish games and then put them down to move on and focus on the next one (emphasis on try). And when something like that pops up with no confirmation on scheduled release or development, it aggravates the hell out of me. Do you remember the footage that was released shortly after two for the assumed then sequel that would allow GS2 to be in the GBA slot of the DS to transfer over data? That ended up not happening and the true sequel was postponed to just recent. I don't want to wait another decade for this.

On that point, I'm still pissed they dropped the 3D development of that Chrono Trigger remake years ago. Was it something like a company trying to do it without proper licensing or something? I forgot the explanation they gave.

On thread topic.

Maplestory - (Actually grinding a cygnus. However, it is just the one I had planned from the beginning to tie all of my characters together via family so that I'd make a handy warp mule for whoever I wind up handing my account over to once I quit.)
Overlord 1 & 2 - (I swear, it'd a darker version of Pikmin.)
Dragon Quest IX - (Just hit the job change place after backtracking since I skipped it by accident. Loving this game for it's simplicity so far. It just feels right in so many ways. One current concern though; as a Minstrel, I hadn't touched whip or fan skill points, so I'm concerned I might not be able to max EVERYTHING, which I will do, as I nearly did in VII.)
Prof Layton: Future - (I anticipate something convoluted that halfheartedly explains everything; Including the pending time paradox.)
Etc. - My history shows my consistency with games, so just consider this some two dozen or so random 2-3 hour runs.

No fears, you can max every skill if you rebirth. You can play only a minstrel and if you rebirth 9 times as just a minstrel you can max every skill in the game.

Only available post-game though.

don't play golden sun, like for real, of all three games, 3 out of 3 are cliffhangers (and the ending of the first two had people hanging to their lives on a cliff <.< the first one with a literal cliffhanger)

and i remember the video, dear lord, the rage, especially after waiting 7 years for YET ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER.

currently playing: maple, training my DB and dawn warrior, waiting for some poogeymanzz

No. An ending does not devalue the entirety of a game. Just because I don't like waiting, doesn't mean I won't do it. It just means I don't like it.

hahaha, well then, then you and i are on the same page, but after GS2, i anticipated the following GS as ending in a cliffhanger, and i was right, and just on a hunch, i am pretty sure the next one also won't be the "true end"

hopefully it's better than 3 though, it was far too easy compared to GS/2

I am finally playing CaveStory again. Only played it twice in the past. (Normal Ending, Hard Ending.)

Only twice? I replay CaveStory like once a month. I always have it loaded on my PSP.

Never found the need or want to replay it.

It's like playing a flash game ;_;

You can't get tired of it, you just play it mindlessly over and over and over again.

Currently, I'm playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. I'm currently at 80% synch with all the new DLC stuff. Awesome game is awesome.

Pokemon is stealing my life once more.

Currently, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. It's the latest Castlevania for the Xbox Live Arcade. If anyone has ANY FUCKING idea how to beat Dracula, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm just about to give up on this game because of this boss fight. In the other Castlevanias, you could fight him a few times and figure out a pattern or ways to dodge his attacks. In this one you have, at max, 3xx HP and 1xx MP. All of his attacks do asinine amounts of damage and either one or two-shot you consistently. Hell, his Demonic Megiddo attack hits the entire fucking screen and does 2xx damage AND is not avoidable. There are such things as legitimately difficult boss fights, and then there is bullshit that is completely unfair and not fun. This Dracula fight is the latter. Oh my GOD I'm ready to either beat him and move on, or just quit ._.

What are you playing? - Sarah - 2011-03-18

Gotta keep this up to date so...

So far in 2011 I've beat...

Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded
Chrono Trigger (replay)
Radiata Stories (replay)
Dragon Quest VI
Radiant Historia
Pokemon White

Currently playing:

Pokemon White still
Okamiden
Xenogears
Alundra
Epic Mickey

Started playing but forgot about, need to remember to beat them (all replays)

Okami
Chrono Cross
Radiata Stories (non-human path)

I'm going to stop buying games after The 3rd Birthday for a bit so I can justify the purchase of a 3DS, so I'll finish these games in that time. Plus I've got midterms coming up after March Break so hopefully I can use that to my advantage.

I disagree. Cave Story is a fabulous game, but it can get old, fast.

Anyway, I beat Cave Story, then Okamiden, now I am trying to beat Zone of the Enders 2.

What are you playing? - Piggy 2.0 - 2011-03-27

Just picked up Okami today, Okamiden should come in about a month or so. Gotta get dem grades up and get a job for dat 3DS.

Gonna be man and play through it without a guide until I simply cannot find a solution to whatever they throw at me.

Been replaying Paper Mario (the first one) and trying to go for 100% completion.

I'm sadly stuck on one thing, just one thing... (And if any of my fellow Paper Mario players can answer this, I will love you forever.)

Answered all of Chuck Quizmo's questions correctly, as far as I can tell (and I've checked), I have all 11 letters found, did all of Koopa Koot's favors, bought all three of Rip Cheato's star pieces, Merluvlee can't find any more...

159/160 star pieces.

WHERE'S THE LAST ONE?! ;___; *breaks down*
