That's a terrible justification; not because it isn't true, but because it has nothing to do with applying fallacious comparisons in order to discredit a group. Last time I checked, none of the GamerGate supporters killed anyone.

got Intel to stop buying ad spots on GamaSutra because they thought this article is... overly critical of the exact people you say aren't part of GamerGate? Wait, but doesn't that mean that this wasn't accomplished by gamergate either, but by the actions of the small number of misogynists who are for some reason also acting under the banner of GamerGate?

That article isn't being critical of anyone, it's blatantly insulting the gaming community as a whole, and if you can't see that for what it is you need to wake up.
As for what GamerGate is about... there's a video one or two pages back that summarizes it in about a minute or two. Just go watch that. Otherwise, there's literally this entire thread jammed with information, articles, and videos pertaining to this very matter. This isn't about some girl's sex life, hating women, or threatening people who don't agree with our views. It's about video game journalism being wiped clean of the bullpomegranate it's been hiding for years.
