It's the first expansion, or you can call it patch 3.0. Patch 2.5 (Jan/Feb release) is the final patch in the 2.0 series and it will be closing several storylines in the game (Hildibrand side story, Crystal Tower series, 2.0 Main Story). Yoshi-P has said that he wanted to release an expansion within 2 years of release, and it's already getting close to that point with Feb 2015 marking 1.5 years since release.

Flying mounts, not sure if good or not. Sounds like a good way to introduce hundreds of bugs into a game. Also, I'm not too happy about Alexander being a fight right now, he should have been a MUCH higher level primal battle, he's the first Grand Summon on the list of primals in the game now and he's a really strong one at that, most of the FF games give him the ability to wipe out entire cities in one attack due to his size and his overwhelmingly powerfuly laser attack, and each game has been making him stronger. in Type-0 he could only be summoned by the sacrifice of a high summoner l'Cie and hundreds of people, and the cutscene for that attack was ridiculous, they really just made him a short-summon god unit.
Huh, actually the GEs are Ramuh, Levi, Alexander and KotR in Fabula Nova, so I guess they have already had a few of them.
