I don't think it'd make me look too skinny, but what I'm looking for is visible muscle. I want to strip away the fat over all my muscles and my stomach, but I'm just concerned about whether I have enough atm to make cutting worth it. I could always just give it a go and see what happens.

EDIT: I googled it and I think I'm looking for around 10-12%.

Fitness thread - SaptaZapta - 2014-02-03

What I was trying to get at with "too skinny" is: do you feel that if you lose 10% of your volume, you'd be "skin and bones"? Or are you big enough now that 10% less still leaves plenty of space taken up by muscle?
I guess that is kind of hard to visualize. Just start and keep track of what is happening.
Would be useful to find someone or somewhere you can get your bodyfat% checked periodically, just to see whether you're losing fat, muscle, or both. Your gym, if you use one, should have either an electronic bf% meter or someone who knows how to use calipers, or both.

buy a caliper on ebay or amazon. they're really cheap. follow scooby's guide on how to use it. it's a 3-point Measurement.

This thread has seen quite the decline in use over the past few months. What happened? Where are all of you now?

I'm stalling on my lifts and my diet is pomegranate.

Bummer. Are you still bulking? The second part could explain the first part...

Fitness thread - Rick - 2014-02-05

I decided to do a bulk for a couple of weeks and see what happens, but not sure how to do it really. I always make sure I get at least 165g of both protein and carbs and 72 of fat (I'm 74ish kg), but beyond the calories from that (which is around 2000), does it matter where I get the rest of them?

Fitness thread - Fiel - 2014-02-05

BF% continues to drop. I'm now 22% BF even though my weight has increased by 7 pounds. wtp.

Also...

 lol

I cut some of the carbs I get, because I feel I was getting too fat too fast.
Now that I've cut a bit, I feel better throughout the day. I think my insuline is messing with me, when I eat close to 600g carbs a day.

If it matters: I'm on a better track now, than I was when I posted. My energy is better.

After I've started oly lifting my training hasn't been the same. I'm totally on fire every time. I love it.
I want to get a personal trainer and compete, but my education doesn't really allow for that.

OLY WOO!

Technique is definitely the hardest part about it, but it's a lot of fun at the same time. You might find that your strength with the big 3 is really disproportional to your Olympic lifts (I can only C&J 80kg, can't really snatch anything substantial, and clean 100kg). See if you can find a barbell club with experienced people who are willing to help you, it's definitely worth it. Also, if you squat high bar and do a lot of pulls, you'll soon find that your back and butt look amazing.

I guess I'll log what I did today.

Pretty much this. The injury bug never seems to stop with me. A few months I'm good and then I'm back to being out of commission. My first day back to lifting is going to be today. We'll see how it goes.

my dream is having a back like Klokov/Xiaojun. I might join my towns barbell club. They literally have tonnes of eleiko equipment.
I currently C&J 50kg for reps. I still do high snatches with the bar. I haven't tested my 1RM in anything yet.

I do high bar squats, front squats. I also do deadlifts, high snatch pulls and bent over rows.

that reminds me: I hit 375lbs deadlift 2 days ago. pineapple yeah, bitches.

Wuv you Jared planning to visit America for New Years / early Jan let's see if I can save enough.

Turns out NZMuscle sends free protein cookies with online orders. They have chocolate chips. It's a good day.

PS. I don't seem to have gotten any bigger since I started eating more. Do you guys think I should start lifting heavier and fewer reps? Atm I do 5 sets of 10 of everything because I read that lower and more is better for definition.

Learned another new move this week, called the arched rainbow. (A quick YouTube search will bring up the pose in question.) Aaaaah it feels so good to be working out again and learning new things, I am so proud of myself! Today (two days after my workout) I am still sore all over, though primarily in my shoulders and back. But it's the good kind of sore (I hope!) where you feel accomplished and you know you put in a lot of good work. Poast

Goal for 2014 is two new pole moves per month, and getting the Superman down. Jeez after so many weeks of attempting that move it still hurts like a mofo. I'd hoped that my pain tolerance for that move would've gotten to an acceptable level by now but every time I try it it's just NOPE WILL HURT LIKE A BITCH FOREVER. I'll get you one day!

I'm having shoulder problems.

lookin joocy brah

I've been doing push-ups to help strengthen shoulder stability. I never paid attention to how much I'd neglected my chest when I started weightlifting before now; the soreness is real.
