Had an epic battle yesterday with the Elite Four after defeating Claire. It was so crazy, because despite my party in the low to mid 40s, I was one shotting or 2 shotting the E4's pokemon left and right because I had the right moves. If I didn't have a super effective move, I sent in Ampharos to Charge and Discharge. That avoids the E4 people using a Full Restore on that Pokemon.

Party I used when I entered the E4 (I renamed them):
46 Cindy (Typhlosion)
43 Helen (Gengar)
44 Adrienne (Amnpharos)
44 Michelle (Gyarardos)

Lance was epic too, because I had one source of an ice attack, which was my Gyarado's Ice Fang. Froze his 1st Dragonite on the first hit, then carefully killed it. I realized then the power of a Choice Scarf, because it allowed me to outspeed his Aerodactyl, which I 1 shotted. His 2nd Dragonite was a nightmare though, because my Gyarados and Gengar fainted, and Ampharos was forced to tank he hits while I brought him and the rest of party back in tip top shape. I got to say, Static <3, because it bought me so much extra time.

I took the ship to Kanto today, and beat Lt. Surge Guile. He sucked hard though, because his Pokemon kept using Double Team. >:o

Still trying to catch Kyogre with a Premier Ball. Took me a while to raise a catcher Smeargle. I have this peach at 1 HP and sleeping, and I taunted it about 5 times, but when I wasn't paying attention it somehow got Aqua Ring in anyway. Started with 51 Premier Balls, threw 13 so far. Will update soon.

Edit: pineapple YES got it 2 tries later

It takes a while to learn and can be pretty frustrating.

RNG Reporter. This is a really complicated program and I don't know how to use all the features, but it pretty much does everything related to RNG abuse.

http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part1 This guide is for DPPt, but it explains a lot about the RNG. Things that don't work are the coin flips/journal page flips that it mentions, but the RNG in HG/SS is the same.

Basically for any Pokemon you want to catch, you save in front of it, and then you use RNG Reporter's Time Finder/Capture tab to find the stats you want, and it spits out a seed and a frame number.
Then you plug the seed into the Seed to Time function, and it gives you a list of times. You pick one of those times, and you basically set your DS clock so that you're hitting continue exactly as you hit the time.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52180 Ask questions here. I had to ask a lot of questions :/
Also, the first page explains a shitload of stuff.

Ok, "Mother" has just sent me a Choice Scarf. Totally going to abuse that, and since I'm going to fight Clair soon...

Current team:
-Typhlosion Lv.37
-Pikachu Lv.32 (Surf + Lightball)
-Murkrow Lv.32(can't wait for this one to evolve)
-Gengar Lv.33 (yay for Shadow Ball)
-Golduck Lv.33(Ice Beam + Choice Scarf/Nevermelt Ice = awesome)
-Weepinbell Lv32(same as with Murkrow)

I'm going to try and stay below Lv.45 with Weepinbell and Murkrow so I don't miss out on moves. I'm going to try to defeat the elite 4 today so I can still get the Leaf and Dusk stones from the Pokéathlon (Stamina course can give over 500 points each time. I once scored 480, with another 100 bonus!). I feel kind of stupid for not growing a lot of Leppa Berries in the past few days, because my only ice type move is Ice Beam, which only has 10 PP(and I'm not going to use a PP up). It's also very tempting to change the option back to "shift" but I want to complete the story in "set" mode.

Today's Password: Poké Ball!

Today has been sort of bad, but mostly WAY good. So I started my finishing my first round in the Battle Factory and I lost on my 7th battle (dam you poliwhirl, dam you). I thought it would be easy. So then I made myself happier by taking on the 1st round of the Battle Arcade. That was easy to win. Then I did some trainer rematches for exp (which is always good) and then I headed to the Viridian Forest to get Bugsy's Pokegear number. As I was reaching him, I ran into a SHINY PIKACHU Big Grin I threw a quick ball at it and caught it. Then I got Bugsy's number. I have an appointment with him later. Then I went to the Whirl Islands, because I was putting off catching Lugia, and before I get there, I run into a Mantine. Repeated what I did to the pikachu and moved on. Lugia was a pain to catch.....I had to turn off the game at least twice before I caught him with a Heavy Ball. Then I went to Buena. 9 more days till I get her number. Big Grin

Congrats. I have to try the Battle Factory again when I'm more motivated that I won't lose on the 7th battle. Which center do you think is easiest to get your first print from?

Tower is pretty easy to get a silver in. Battle Arcade is pretty easy too, once you get used to timing the roulette right.

Castle is the easiest, in my opinion. It's pretty much the same as Battle Tower, except you know what's coming up next.

Good job on the Gold. I've yet to get a Gold in any facility, though I've gotten Silver in Tower, Castle, and Factory. I'll try Tower again soon. I've made it to the 7th set of battles 3-4 times, but I always lose somewhere around battle 45. I don't really have any good Battle Frontier Pokemon, I just kind of use Pokemon I like with sets that are good in 1v1 6 Pokemon battles.

Most recently used Tower team:

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power Fire
Explosion

Lucario @ Life Orb
Close Combat
Extremespeed
Swords Dance
Crunch

Milotic @ Leftovers
Hypnosis
Surf
Recover
Ice Beam

Another team that got me just as far:

Jolteon @ Leftovers
Thunderbolt
Baton Pass
Substitute
Shadow Ball

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Spore
Substitute
Seed Bomb
Focus Punch

Milotic @ Leftovers
Hypnosis
Surf
Recover
Ice Beam

IMO, I'd think Castle is the hardest since you don't get an automatic complete heal after each battle, followed by the Hall. I'll see if I can get to Dahlia and Palmer. Then maybe I'll try the Factory again.

Sure, but you get 40-something CP per battle and it only costs 10 to heal one Pokemon. I rarely had to heal anything besides my Gengar (used Explosion a lot) until battle 30 or so.

Really? Hmm, I might try it soon. Definitely not trying the Hall though till later. The Arcade is top priority now. And it's quite fun timing the Game Board to what you want...

Bought my copy of HeartGold today. I got the WalMart bundle with the figurine and a pokéwalker jacket.

NOT THAT IT MATTERS BECAUSE I DON'T PLAN ON PLAYING IT UNTIL I BEAT FIRERED WHICH I STILL HAVEN'T DONE.

The Bugsy appointment went smoothly. I guess you could say I crushed him like a bug...Anyhow, got my Arcade streak up to 14, barely though. (stupid little Zangoose). Anyway one more row of 7 before Dahlia.
