It was just a server check, not a patch.
Probably had something to do with increased security/virus scans/back up because of the Conficker scare.

Yeah it was a server check. But a server software upgrade could be what is needed to prevent DC hacks. After all the hackers are exploiting some bug or weakness in the server software that causes the server to shut down other player's clients. They are not sending their crap directly to other clients.

im extremely surprised that nexon finally did something good and patched DC hack, and you all are complaining because it took 7 hours. what are 7 hours in comparison for constantly being dced at fm and skeles?

they didn't patch the d/c hack. I got d/c'd in FM first thing this morning.... TWICE

Not during a server crash you don't.
You log back in wherever you last were.
Sometimes a SC has the same effect, depending on how gracefully they shut down.
